I visited this business on October 18, 2024, to pick up a modified bike rack. What should have been a simple transaction turned into an uncomfortable and unprofessional encounter.
Upon arrival, I waited briefly before using the service button. Mr. Marx emerged a few minutes later, questioning my ability to properly use the button condescendingly. He then proceeded to mock me to his employee, laughing about my supposed inability to press a button "hard enough."
The situation worsened when Mr. Marx and his employee fabricated a story about me ripping my bumper off the day before while backing out of the steep drive, despite clear evidence to the contrary. While I did admit to scraping the bottom, I did not rip off my bumper and told them so. Their persistence in this false narrative was both bewildering and unprofessional.
The most concerning part of the interaction occurred as I was leaving. Mr. Marx made unsolicited and sexist comments, suggesting I was likely to "wreck or crash into something" seemingly based on my gender. When I confronted this blatant stereotyping, mentioning my military driving experience, I was met with more laughter and ridicule.
While the work on the bike rack was satisfactory, the customer service was abysmal. The misogynistic attitudes, bullying behavior, attempts to mock and make me feel small, and utterly unprofessional conduct displayed by the staff makes it impossible for me to recommend this business--one star for completing the requested work but zero stars for their treatment of customers. read more
