I've had well over a dozen MOHS surgeries to the same areas including 4 very invasive procedures last December and a melanoma excision on my chest a few months ago. My (PDT) was scheduled for tomorrow, 8/25/26. 3 days ago, I received a text from this group asking me to pre-register for my 12:50pm appointment for tomorrow. I did so and then received another text thanking me for pre-registering and stating, "See you soon at: DAK Lexington." An hour ago, I received another text informing me that the appointment had been cancelled...1 business day after they asked me to pre-register for that very same appointment and confirmed that I had pre-registered as they requested. I have had several other issues with this group not following through with scheduling procedures hour+ long waits for scheduled appointments, rudeness, lack of professionalism, severe scarring from their MOHS surgeries, etc. They are part of the Lexington Clinic Group. 22 YELP reviews with an average 2.5 rating. That is 50% which in my school days equated to an "F" grade on the report card. I highly recommend you stay away from these 2 clinics.

I was told both of Jessica's room were occupied and after one was empty, they would have to clean the room before taking me back. I asked if they could give me a time estimate and they said they could not. I told them I couldn't keep waiting indefinitely and had to leave. The check-in person said, okay. No offer was made to reschedule nor was any apology made regarding my time. The practice did not refund the $50 I was charged as a co-pay. I just called their office to request a copy of my records. They said they would email me a release form and once I completed the form, they would work on getting my records for me. I asked how long getting records usually takes and they said they couldn't really tell me as they only had 1 person that pulled records. This practice has zero respect for their patient's time or care. If a practitioner only has two exam rooms to work out of then logic should tell them to schedule accordingly. But, Bluegrass Dermatology chooses to stack patients up in their waiting room and then to rush them through an exam.

I had an eye issue and my eye doctor suggested I see a dermatologist and gave me the referral to Dermatology Consultants. I was reluctant because I felt like I had tried everything. I thought I would pay $100 for a cream that would not change anything. I am thrilled to say this was a great referral! I am 30 days into treatment and I am seeing great improvement! Dr. James Lagrew has been great and taken time to answer all of my questions and give me insight in to my treatment. I know my issue is a relatively simple one, but at the end of the day I had many other opinions and treatment and no one else had gotten me this far down the path. My 5th star is really for how friendly and efficient the staff is here. I am right in at my appointment time and right out with what I need. I feel like at most other Dr's offices I am there 15 minutes a head of time and I get to see a Dr an hour after my appointment time. This location keeps on a tight schedule.

I even questioned whether or not the treatment decisions were based on profits. I have never had these doubts with any other medical provider. Recently scheduled an appointment for my 4th child. I called at 4:30 (the end of the day)and they mentioned they had just had a cancellation for the next day. Took the appointment but after hanging up I learned my son had a school exam at that very time the next day. The office was closed but I called the first thing in the morning to reschedule. I was told I would have to pay $25 since I didn't give 24 hours notice. Explained to very rude staff that I had just scheduled the appointment so it would have been impossible to give a 24 hour notice ! Staff insisted I must pay the $25. So I will pay the $25 but I will never schedule another appointment for any member of my family. This attitude and the obvious greed reminds me of how I always questioned the ethics of this practice. The great news is I found another practice that accepts our insurance and I am so impressed with their professionalism and patient care. So for $25 they lost 4 patients. They also might want to train their staff on how to talk to patients or maybe as they view it their "customers".
