Yelp challenge 2015 44/365 I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to see this Marvel Universe live action show at the Honda Center with my personal superhereo of my own with 2nd row seats. We love superheroes and we used to dress up at movie premieres years ago. So, this was a dream come true. Its been a rough few weeks and tonight we were able to be in the moment and enjoy ourselves. We paid $16.00 to park, picked up our willcall tickets, grabbed a few snacks, a hot dog, chivken tenders w/ fries and a water about $23 and found our ground level seats with a VIP view. The house was definitely full of kids. Which doesn't bother me since Im around kids all day. The show had 20 plus Marvel characters in a battlefield against each other. Those actors were bad to tha bone and definitely in shape to do all the tumbling, riding, flying, fighting that they were doing. One guy was even lit on fire. It was amazing. 2nd row seats?! Sweet! Yelp sure knows how to make us feel like VIPs and I can't be more grateful. Parking was a breeze priced at $16 and our tickets were waiting for us at the Will Call window with a very quick line. With ushers escorting us to our seats, it was smooth sailing for us from beginning to end of the 2-hour show. A 30-minute intermission was a good break. Lots of vendors selling Marvel products are to be expected and overpriced, at that. So just be wary. It was a joy watching all the kids dressed up as their favorite Super Hero. This would be the best time to bust out those costumes, parents! I had teens in tow as they are more into these things than I am. Can't be happier to have seen them enjoy all the effects and stunts featured all throughout the evening. Spidey and Thor were my two favorite characters that night as those two had a cute humor going and were closest to the actual super heroes in terms of how they look, the acting, and their voices. The bike stunts were sometimes repetitive but it was a nice addition to the show, nonetheless. The Hulk had quite an entrance and you can tell the audience loved it. All the Marvel super heroes united last night to fight Loki and the villains to get back the pieces of the cosmic cube as this can be very dangerous in the wrong hands. Taken as captives were Storm and Cyclops, but they were saved in the end, of course. Yay to mission accomplished! First time at Honda center !!! Thanks to Yelp, I always thought I would come watch a hockey game first. My friend watched "Disney on Ice" here years ago...she said it wasn't all that great.. I was a little hesitated when I saw so many kids from all directions when we got to the Honda Center.... To my surprised! The show was very interesting and good with both kids and adults. Even my not so marvel fan friend loved it. but she didn't realize who was wolverine until almost toward the end: p Yelp gave us tickets for the session 208 Row B, which is the 2nd row from the stage and on the left side about middle of the stage. So we could see almost all little details about the performance, I am not sure what you see if you sit in the far back. The only difference probably the perspective, we did not realize they were fighting inside the Statue of Liberty at beginning...because it was almost in front of us. oh I wish that green lizard could be BIGGER! I love all motorcycle stunts, that was the best part of the show....and the graphic display. # Parking at Artic Anaheim Reginal Transit Center for $10 instead of $16, just short walk across Katella Ave. # Will call is on the East side of the Honda center. There are two entrance w security check, one on the south side (Katella ave) and one near the will call. # I think all kids seem liked it, all pretty behave. # If you want good quality photos, bring the camera. it's pretty low light setting and phone camera did not do well. read more

Sometimes I just want to be a big kid and this let me celebrate my inner demon child :D So I ask the PIC at least once a year to take me to something random and this year I wanted to watch Marvel universe live. As soon as swathe commercials for the show last year, I knew I wanted to go. So speed up to May 2015 LOL. The PIC and I decided to go to The Forum. He wasn't available for the shows at the Honda center. Plus I haven't been to the Forum since the 10th grade and went to see The Backstreet Boys LOL. So I had to see this revamp of The forum. Getting in was a cinch and parking wasn't bad. Leaving sucked though and that's with any event. So walking inside, they had plenty of concessions slanging all types of Marvel universe merchandise. They even had some photo ops to take pictures with characters. I was even impressed that they sold booze !!!!! I didn't think they would for such a kid dominate event. You know I took FUUUUULLLLLLLL advantage of that ;) Foodwise, the PIC got me a marvel cookie and popcorn with a marvel bag that came with it :D Oh and at the end a Snowcone with a collectors cup HAHA. I was such a kid! Now for the show. If you're a kid, you're thinking this is the best thing ever and you feel like you're in the movies. As an adult your expectations are different and your left wanting something more. For some reason I was expecting some high stage but with all the motorcycle work, it made sense for a grounded setting. All the pyro, acrobatics, motorsports work and martial arts got better and better through out the show. All the major characters that we're accustomed to in today's Marvel universe had a chance to shine. My favorite was of course Black widow and Spider man had lots of play! Those were my favorite moments. Everybody was waiting for The Hulk and when he finally showed the whole arena went nuts LOL. We all were kids at that moment haha. The storyline was basically about the tazorac and it was travelling around like Carmen San diego HAHA. I didn't care what the story line was going to be about. I just wanted to see some action and kick ass costumes!!!! Overall I had so much fun and surprisingly the kids in the arena were well behaved!!!! I just knew I would get annoyed by some kids, but there were no demon kids to be found!!! I had so much fun and I would go to any live show put on by this production!!! read more

This show was amazing. I have to thank OC Yelp Elite for the tickets. My son and I have had a rough year so far, so tonight blew both of us away. I literally wanted to cry and thank Yelp for our second row amazing seats. So, thank you Yelp! Ok, now I'll write about the show. I was giddy to see all my fave Marvel characters come together in this action packed, fun, live show. There wasn't a single dull moment and the choreography was good. Spiderman was awesome. The motorcycle stunts were amazing. There were nonstop fireworks going off and so much to see all around. This is a great show for boys AND girls. The kids around us were all engaged. I was sad I forgot my son's Thor costume. Lots of kids were dressed up and parents wore logo or character print tee shirts. It's just an overall fun show. I really liked Marvel Universe Live. It was filled with super heros, stunts, pyrotechnics, and wonderfully choreographed action. Kids of all ages, young and old, will take delight in this theatrical performance. I was fortunate to win tickets through my work and was able to enjoy the show from a suite. Sweet! I especially liked that there are plenty of activities before the event. You can purchase or browse through memorabilia, action figures/toys, shirts, and super hero themed food items. You can even be photoshoped in a picture as a super hero. It is a thrilling event to entertain the whole family. I liked the show but the dessert cart that went to the suites was awesome! read more

First and foremost I would to thank Yelp and Ryan! Thank you for tickets on the 2nd row, perfect view of the amazing show. At a young age, I was infatuated with comics, superheroes, anime, and anything cartoonish but not fully into detailed about the stories. Since my bf is a major nerd, I have been on a quest to find easter eggs and different depth of the chrarcters. We enjoy all comic cons, festivals, events and large gatherings. When I first heard about a live marvel show, my spidey senses told me this is where I need to be. I have been in awed driving towards Honda Center from my GPS and discovered no traffic. Wow! Maybe we were use to the LA downtown in the chaotic convention area, we found nothing close or honks (maybe we are OC souls lol). Easy one way in, parked within minutes of entering the property. $16 on site was a deal compared to LA. Plenty of refreshments and collectibles every 10 steps! Yay! We didn't get to explore all around but our seats was next to Wahoo's plus the stadiums specialties. So many goodies, How do we choose? The show was wonderful, much better then I had anticipated. Lights, fireworks, flying and grounded heroes entrain us from the beginning to the end. Such a cool performance from the dirt bike tricks to the infamous loki trying to take over the world. Marvel Universe Live Iron Man, Spider Man, Captain America, Thor, Hawkeye, Black Widow...... Superheroes come alive..... This show is awesome....it's like the Avengers came in style.....watch them fight the villains who try to conquer the world. Watch David Banner as he later become the Incredible Hulk.....Spiderman is always in action......Watch Thor use his hammer to pound the bad guys.....Iron Man / Tony Starks...... This was a great show....great for all ages....Kind of cool to watch all the stunts they've put into this show and it looks just as real as you've read it in the comic books.....played out the way one would have wanted. All our favorite superheroes join forces in this spectacular performance of Marvel Universe Live at Honda Center in Anaheim, CA. First off, Thank you to Yelp OC Boss, Ryan C. for the free ticket. If you are parking at Honda Center, parking is $16. There are other places you can park for equal or lesser prices. This was the first showing of Marvel Universe Live at Honda Center. I met with fellow Yelpers, Jennifer and Niki. We had to pick up the tickets at Will Call. Our tickets were scattered throughout Honda Center, but for a specific reason. We were either in the first or second row. Say What?! Regular tickets could range up to $80. These seats were definitely VIP type tickets. I won't ruin it for you since pretty much all of your Avengers and X-Men join forces to stop Loki, the Sinister Six, and other henchmen from using the Cosmic Cube for their evil plans. There are a lot of fireworks and, more importantly, stunts going on. With the actors performing in a venue like this, they do pretty dangerous acts with their vehicles, bikes, and their bodies. Going up on wires and doing some death defying acts. At points throughout the performance, I realize that superhero work is A LOT! With Avengers 2 coming up, I am sure there will be a new version of Marvel Universe Live. If you saw the first Avengers Movie, I will tell you that you will laugh at Loki and the Hulk. Overall, this show was AMAZING! If Marvel Universe Live comes to your area, go watch this. This one is very exciting and always very cool with you rooting on your favorite superhero or villain. Thanks Yelp for providing some really nice seats for this Event! Super thankful always and happy to meet some fellow yelpers :) This place is definitely swarming with the young generations, and I knew this going in but I'm a fan of the Marvel movies so decided to check it out. I made my friend come along who is a Marvel nerd, as well. Parking was very easy and I've never seen the Honda Center not as packed as it is at a Ducks game, so that was actually nice! Got in super quick and easy. As soon as you step inside there are Marvel toys and souvenirs everywhere! Pretty awesome if I were a kid haha or even for adults who like to collect. I was a little mind boggled that cotton candy was $15! =X So parents... prepare to break the bank if you want to keep your kids sugarloaded and toy equipped. We had some really nice seats in Section 221. Row C - which was the third row from the front! I would advise however, for people attending this show this weekend to grab some seats facing the screen in the center. There were sections of the show that we could not see the action, but for the most part our seats were fabulous! So close to it all! I was really impressed with the sound effects and special effects of this show. Lots of Fire! Ooooo! I wasn't ever bored watching, just thought some parts were a little cheesy. My favorite parts were with the dirt bikes. They definitely added a different element to the show and kept you on your toes a bit. The show runs for about 2 hours. Started at 7 and was out by 9. This was a pretty entertaining show especially for kids. Lots of action, laser lights, small firework type explosions, dirt bike tricks, and acrobatics. I was surprised by how many characters they crammed into the show: The Avengers (including Captain Marvel and Falcon), Spider-Man, S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, Wolverine, Storm, and Cyclops. There were also just as many villains. A few of which are probably a bit obscure to a person who never followed the comics. I thought it was cool that they featured such a wide variety. The biggest knock on the show is the ridiculous merchandise prices: $20 for popcorn with a cheap hat, $25 light up toys, plus the high Nationwide Arena prices for food and drink ($10/beer). Ticket prices ranged from $20 to $120 with certain sections offering discounts for kids' tickets. This price doesn't include the additional fees tacked on by Ticketmaster which was $10-12/ticket for us. The most expensive seats really aren't worth it. My tickets were in the 7th row up and only cost $45 for an adult and $20 for kids vs $90 or $120 with no discounts. The view difference is minimal as the action takes place pretty far away from the seats. read more

There was a great variety of things going on during the show that kept the attention of the audience through the duration of the show. Highly recommended for anyone that is into Marvels Superheroes! Saw Marvel Universe Live at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario CA. It was Awesome! The first half of the show set up the story. The second half was all the action. There was a lot of firework and light effects. A saw several toddlers being carried out crying because they were scared of the loud noise so I wouldn't recommend for young ones. My 10 year old son was in Awwww the entire show which was 2 hours with a 20 intermission. I think the best part was the transformation of Bruce Banner to The Hulk. The whole arena went nuts! In all of my years as a consumer, I have never had so little information given about an expensive product with little to no information provided.sight unseen, the individual that covered in our "chat" room was incapable of straight answers. I asked what channels were provided with this service and...................I am still waiting. When I queried about why no channels were listed, I was told to find out with a free trial. I don't know how each of you would respond but I believe I responded as most would. WTF? Why must I commit myself to a possibly hard, or even impossible task of cancelling said service. In the meantime, these corporate deviants would not give me exMples of the included channels, even the local ones. I don't know how gullible, or trusting you are with these services but I am more than a little trepedacious to "try" this service. When transparency becomes the law, must elect Democrats, then zi will look into marvel streams. The service sounds like it is part of a urologist firmament! read more

What an exciting show. Action packed with lots of stunts and special effects. Took my bf here as his bday/anniversary gift. Got us front row, center stage seats. The show was better than I expected. Its basically the movie turn into live action. Very well performed and all the stunts were awesome. If you are a marvel superhero fan this is a must see show. We have been to this show several times throughout its 4 year run. The first year it opened had way more action with motorcycles and car stunts which held the audience attention. The sequel to the show had less extreme motorsports which made it not quite as interesting as the previous show. I did like the fire dancers and aerial artists of the second show. If Marvel combined way more motorcycle stunts with more fire and aerial artists they would have a five star show. regarding the fight scenes, they need more high fall and burning man stunts too. Lastly, they need more options for food. Older audience members shouldn't have to buy a $15 bag of cotton candy just because it has a mask attached to it. Sell popcorn and cotton candy at a more reasonable price without items attached to it. Looking forward to the next sequel of this show with hopefully the listed improvements! read more

The misleading coupon ticket advertised When approaching the box office is not what you envision on the coupon or flyer that you got prior to going to the show. The list of prices on the coupon ticket is for a Limited amount of seats which were already sold out before the show begins during the daylight. I would recommend the show for a smashing night with people who are interested in Marvel. The show throws a variety of themes, fire show, motorcycle show, an acrobatic show, and lots of beautiful costumes and action-packed for the family. I will recommend the show to Kids 3 and above. Just watch out when they start selling you the toys before you approach the stage majority of items will drop in price after the show ends. Most parents will pay anything for the kids to have a smashing time. The show is a one-time thing for me and my family $33 a person is a bit much for a family of four read more

I would never spend this amount of money for this show again. The show was not well organized. Too many fights happening at once. I brought my 2,4&6 year olds and my two smallest thought it was too loud. During the show the actors said "stupid" & "idiot" not in good taste for an audience of little ones. The concessions were astronomically expensive $15 for slushees with the special cup and $28 for a plastic sword. I recommend leaving 5 mins before show to beat the crowds if you park at the deck across the coliseum. read more

The show was pretty good, but I'm so sick of going to things for the kids and finding the insane prices on all the extras. The cotton candy was 15 dollars because of a cheap made in China crap mask attached to it. 10 dollars for Dip n Dots because the icecream was served in a cheap plastic container with an LED. A youth size kids shirt was 30 dollars. America - especially California, has become a place where the corporate mentality is to squeeze as much as you can out of the American consumer as possible. So much fun! I was especially impressed with how big the Hulk got! I wasn't expecting that. My 6 year old was mainly in it for Spiderman, and he was not disappointed. He was flipping upside down and climbing walls. Fun story line that my son still talks about months later read more

I love all kinds of shows and concerts but this one is the worst I have seen. It is just some cheap special effects, mediocre action moves and lame plot. It is a show for five year old and younger. I took my wife and two boys, age 3 and 9, to the show in Charlotte. It was the kind of thing that was so terrible, it was kind of funny. It began with an hour "security" line to enter the building. From my observations, the "security" was far more concerned with confiscating Marvel items from families than anything else. I saw families denied access b/c of a hulk glove, Thor headband, cape's, etc. I can only assume that the strict enforcement of this rule was to improve the sale of the extremely overpriced merchandise that was being shoved in your face as soon as you walk through the door. You know, make a kid throw away his Marvel toy, and then as he's screaming and crying, offer to sell one back to him for five times the price. Due to the chaos at the front door, things got pretty scary for the families with young children. People were yelling, cursing, etc. They weren't throwing away their things without an argument, so the security line wasn't moving and the crowd was getting furious. This resulted in the vast majority of the people being late for the show, virtually all of the kids were crying. It was a mess. Fortunately, they weren't missing much. The show consisted of a bunch of people in costumes running around and doing cartwheels. I can't imagine anyone over the age of 5 being entertained, and I can't imagine anyone 5 and under being able to follow the plot. It was nearly impossible to tell what voices went with what characters. So, while you're enjoying the echoes of children screaming and crying, random dialog is blasting over the sound system while adults in costumes run around and do cartwheels. read more

Way to much money for this show. Hulk was terrible, he looked like mummy. Octopus all he did was to move his arm up and down, that's all it was kinda funny at least. Very disappointed, people wore bored and having conversations during the show. They need to save the money for the movies only. I waited a year for them to come to California and what a waste. Just been to see this at the Sheffield Arena. Kids and Marvel mega fans may enjoy it but I'm not sure others will. Both myself and my wife are Marvel fans and were really looking to this but were very disappointed. The whole show's voices were prerecorded and at times the actions and pyrotechnics didn't match. Ok I accept it's live and health and safety rules but the fight scenes were pathetic. When they even had a big stunt I would say less than a 1/4 of the arena applauded. We were not on our own as we heard others saying similar things. We left just after the penultimate fight (as did dozens if others). A waste of £80. read more

The show was very entertaining. Being a live show it could have had more crowd interactions. My rating is a result of the producers not allowing the Black Panther a moment to show off his powers, just as all of the other superhero did. I say this because, as the characters entered the seen the fans cheered, and out of all the characters the Black Panther had the most screams and applauses. I thought for sure the producers were gonna use his power throughout the show. The Black Panther had only two speaking parts, he did not show any of his powers from his movie, and for the most part he stayed in the background as other characters possess the power that he was suppose to have had. This is just my opinion, and no I never watch Marvel anything, but I have a five year old son who is really into this stuff. read more

"THORRRRR!!!" Yelled my two year old in absolute excitement. We had such a fun time watching our little one "marvel" at the Marvel heroes (see what I did there ). All your favorite heroes are accounted for, and the stunts are actually pretty impressive for live action. Watching your child smile and get super excited about the show is well worth whatever you pay (we dropped 50 bucks on each ticket). Avengers, Spider-Man, and X-Men Characters are all in attendance and really put on a good show. One thing they can do better, is have the actors in costume take pictures with the kiddos after the show, and have more things to do outside the show. Not for kids under school age. I got four and two year old boys who love marvel super heroes. But they couldn't stand the first 10 minutes. My older son burst into cry then younger one followed. We had to step out and not surprisingly, there were lots of kids already outside, all with watery eyes, their hands covering their ears. The show itself was spectacular. I could've enjoyed it. But if you have kids under school age - think again. It's simply too violent for them. I feel that they shouldn't sell the tickets for kids under school age at all. I'm surprised that they don't enforce age limits for the tickets. read more

I surprised my four year old nephew with tickets to this show. I have to say the energy hits you the minute you get out of your car. Everyone, young and old, was dressed up in their favorite Marvel's superhero garb. Everyone was so excited and then you get inside and it was just so fun to see all of the little kids running around in their Spiderman costumes oohing and awwing at the multiple banners of the Avengers and all of the different merchandise on display. The show was a little dark and loud, kinda of intense for a four year old. He was spooked in the beginning when the lights went down but I talked him through it and once he realized that it was Loki and all of the characters he loved and was familiar with he settled down and just became mesmerized. There were a lot explosions and action...for me it was interesting in the beginning but I started to zone out half way through, napping with my eyes open. I loved the fact that there was an intermission and that it was only about an hour and a half (if I remember correctly) show. It didn't drag on and there were really no dull moments. It was just so cute to see how happy and into it all of the kids were...would totally do it again. But warning: kinda costly. The tickets I got were about $60 each, the food was like highway robbery, don't even get me started on souvenirs. The place was buzzing with so much excitement that I got caught up in it and didn't even realize the money was just disappearing from my pockets. It was well worth it though to see my little nephew's shining, happy face. It melted my heart when he looked up at me and so sincerely said "oh thank you so much auntie". DO NOT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON THIS! The show might be OK, but the company and customer service is terrible. Ordered tickets online for a show in our state, was sent tickets for a different show, different date in a state 800 miles away. Called Marvel Universe live and asked to fix the problem, was told by so called "costumer serve manager" Noah Skrames, that cannot fix the problem. He over and over again tried to blanme us for clicking on wrong show, but the show we wanted was 2 weeks later and a diffent state. Also, the buton you click for the show we wanted wasn't even near the button for the show we got. Spent over $360 for 6 tickets, they wouldn't budge on exchanging for the right place and date. His only suggestion was we try to sell the tickets online and he could sell us discounted tickets for the show we want...If your website makes the mistake, you should have to resell the tickets... I DO NOT RECOMMEND GIVING ANY OF YOUR MONEY TO THIS COMPANY. There are far better things to take your kids to. I brought my 5 yr old grandson to this and he loved it. For that age group it's great - story line is weak but they don't care. It's all about their super-heros and they have those in spades! The drawback for this review has nothing to do with the show but rather the prices for everything. We went in Ft. Worth and we had 2 options for tickets - $80 or $20. I bought the $80 tickets so that he could see everything and ended up on the side farthest away from the action. There was a processing fee of $5 and a "service fee" per ticket on top of the ticket price of $15.10 as well as tax of $1.25 per ticket. Parking cost $18 so we're now up to $215.70. A guy was selling programs at the door for $25, popcorn cost $19 and the hallway around the arena (which you have to walk around to get to your seats was wall-to-wall vendors selling toys. Since I had already spent $215.70 I bought nothing else but it's really unfair to charge so much and then throw all of this stuff in front of a small fan and expect them to not want everything. Hold the thought that I only brought 1 child. Start adding up the admission if you had 2 or more children. It's ridiculous. read more

Great time for the whole family. Tons of characters and action to keep little ones attention. There was always something going on, motorcycle stunts pyrotechnics, flying etc. The only downside was the cost. Tickets weren't bad but the food and toys that you are bombarded by were outrageous. Overall a great time and would definitely do again. read more
