Marisol, Jimmy, and the whole team at Martoca Beach Garden gave my wife & I the most incredible wedding experience we possibly could've asked for. Couples will frequently hear from friends leading up to the wedding "Things will probably go wrong, but just let it roll off and have fun" - we can honestly say that NOTHING went wrong and EVERYTHING went right as part of our experience. From the food, to the decorations, to the staff's service it was nothing short of incredible - our friends haven't stopped talking about it almost 3 months later. If you're planning a beach wedding in the Puerto Vallarta area this is your spot. P.S.: Splurge on the videographer, fireworks, and sparklers :)

Words cannot describe how amazing Martoca and team are. My husband and I decided on a destination wedding but we were not sure where. We ended up finding martoca through all their amazing reviews and pictures. We ended up not going down for a table setting and food tasting mostly because we had full confidence in them that everything would come out great. We had the pleasure of working with Veronica, she is AMAZING. She made us feel at ease with every step of the wedding process. We were so lucky to have worked with her, she is thoughtful and hard working, she thought of everything to the smallest detail. She surprised us with so many amazing gifts and details at the wedding that we cannot thank her enough. It's been two weeks since the wedding. We had sooo many compliments from our guest and even the ones who couldn't make it who saw through pictures and videos. Our guest has even mentioned it's been "the best wedding they've been to so far". It was an experience like no other and pictures and videos don't do justice. When we arrived to Martoca and saw everything in place it made us feel so grateful for everything. Martoca and their team went above and beyond. We were so lucky to have found them, it was an amazing experience and we are forever grateful for them. Yasmin & Brandon

Our wedding last month was everything we hoped it would be and we couldn't recommend Martoca enough if you're looking for a beautiful setting, kind and talented team to work with, and a blank canvas to create whatever type of wedding you're looking for. Marisol was our planner and she was so lovely to work with and created such a beautiful ceremony and reception for us. We loved that we could take more of a step back and provide our inspiration and priorities, and Marisol took care of all the details so we wouldn't have to. Their vendors are all pre-selected, so they have long-standing relationships with local suppliers, and eliminates the need to do vendor selection for each trade. All of them were great, but we especially loved the DJ and the service during the reception. Our guests have been raving about the wedding overall and we honestly just hope someone we know decides to get married there so we can go back.

We just had our wedding here on June 2nd and as all of the other reviewers say, this place is absolutely amazing and something really special. We started to get really discouraged in our venue search after getting multiple quotes from hotels in the area. Everything felt very cookie cutter and like we were getting nickel and dimed for every tiny thing. Chair set up? $2. Chair break down? $2. Oh, you want a microphone for your ceremony? $150. Thank GOD we found Martoca because they are the complete opposite. Jimmy and his entire team are genuinely passionate about the brides and grooms they work with and go above and beyond to create a unique, magical experience for every couple. We signed the contract without seeing the venue and didn't take a trip down to do our tasting and trial until a few months later. By then I was having serious anxiety and thinking we were insane for booking something without meeting anyone or seeing the location. Our communication was mostly over email and I had only provided a few "inspiration pics" to our planners, Mar and Salvador. My anxiety was put to ease the moment we met them. Every bit of food we tasted was delicious. Every drink was refreshing and something I would gladly serve to our guests. Our centerpieces were more beautiful than what I had even sent. Mar and Salvador (and the entire Martoca crew) are true professionals. Nothing we saw at the trial could have prepared us for the actual wedding. There is something so special about stepping through the gold gates of Martoca. Our entire venue was decorated with flowers and lanterns and more beautiful details than I ever could have imagined. I've never seen a more magical setting in my life. It only got better from there. One line of our contract said something about the service from the waitstaff being "so good, your guests shouldn't have to get up to the bar to get a drink". I LOLed at the time, but they weren't kidding. The servers were better than what I've seen at a 4 star restaurant. I don't have a single complaint or thing I would do differently. The food and drinks were delicious, fireworks BLEW people away, cigar roller and mariachis were so fun and unique, and late night tacos and churros kept everyone fueled up for the dance floor :) Most importantly, Jimmy, Mar, and Salvador (and the rest of the Martoca crew) care so much about what they do. They treat you like family and welcome you with open arms into the Martoca family. My husband and I feel so lucky to have found them.

I don't think my review or pictures will be able to do Martoca justice but I will definitely try.. I got married at Martoca exactly a week ago and everything was absolutely PERFECT. I cannot recommend this venue enough. I started following Martoca on Instagram about 2 years ago and after going through their page and seeing the beautiful weddings they put together I was convinced this is where I had to get married! From the start Jimmy was super responsive and willing to work with us and our budget. Mariana was our planner and she was absolutely PHENOMENAL. I'm in my 3rd year of law school and all my friends told me I was crazy for trying to plan and carry out a wedding while In school but Mariana took absolutely ALL stress out of wedding planning for me. I simply shared some Pinterest ideas with her of what I wanted it to look like and she took care of every single little detail. Anything I thought Of I'd just message her and within minutes she'd respond assuring me it'd be taken care of. I didn't get the opportunity to visit Martoca prior to the wedding but simply based on what I saw on social media and the the way in which Mariana had every single detail under control I knew we wouldn't be disappointed. Now fast forward to wedding day, the day was BEYOND BEAUTIFUL and Mariana ensured every step of the wedding ran flawlessly at all times. I never had to worry about a single thing other than enjoying the day. Our friends and family were in absolute awe of how perfect everything was!! we had a small wedding due to Covid but practically everyone that attended said it was the best wedding they'd ever been to (Even My 3 sisters who are my biggest critics! lol). Here we are.. a week later.. I'm still in awe over last Sunday and obsessing over all the pictures and videos friends and family have sent me. I can't wait to see the professional photos which I'm sure will be AMAZING as our photographer Eva Sica was also so great!! THANK YOU Jimmy, Mariana, and all the Martoca staff. You guys are true professionals and wonderful at what you do. I seriously can't thank you enough for putting together my dream wedding.

My husband and I cannot recommend this venue enough!! It was 5 star service throughout the planning process, leading up to the big day and our wedding day of course. They truly treat you like family and dedicate so much time into making your day so special. The venue itself is an absolute dream. We had only seen photos online before experiencing it the day of our wedding and can say it's even better in person. The attention to detail in all of the decorations, florals, plated dinner and even music/DJ was PERFECT!! The staff was incredible and made the overall vibe so much fun. And don't even get me started on the food and drinks including the late night tacos, churros and guacamole it was some of the BEST food we had during our entire trip to Puerto Vallarta. We want to specially thank Marisol and Jimmy for their patience and dedication to making sure we were informed on everything leading up to the big day and always made time to talk whenever we needed assistance. Highly recommend having your wedding at Martoca Beach Garden!!! Absolute dream come true!!!

It's hard to know where to start in a review about Martoca, I actually get a little teary eyed just thinking about how amazing it is, there should be an extra special gold star option especially reserved for places like Martoca. First and foremost, if you are thinking about having a wedding in Mexico and are considering anywhere besides Martoca, just stop right now. You will literally not find anywhere else like it, potentially anywhere. To say it's a bride's dream is a complete understatement and does not do Martoca, the staff, the owners or the location justice. Their wedding planning staff (Veronica, my wedding planning was beyond amazing) and unbelievably talented florist alone justify what you spend, and that doesn't even touch how gorgeous the venue is, the incredible food, the open bar or the kick ass DJ. And it's so much more. When you get married at Martoca, you truly become part of their family and I have first hand experience in that, beyond what most brides probably do as my father ended up in the hospital the day after the wedding. Veronica, Our wedding planner with Martoca helped us find a doctor and Jimmy, the owner, picked us up from our hotel to move to a condo close to the hospital. They both came to visit the hospital during his 5 day stay and checked in regularly. I am actually not sure what we would have done without them. And that was so far above and beyond the wedding, which was better than any of my dreams or imagination. There is so much to say but I will try to keep it to the highlights: BOOKING & PRE-PLANNING I first came upon Martoca on bestdestinationweddings.com and was amazed thought it looked beautiful, not to mention the reviews were top notch. On the day we got engaged, we sent an email through the details on the website not expecting to hear back as it was a Sunday early afternoon. Not only did Jimmy, the owner, write us back that day, he responded to our questions that evening. We were booked with in 2 days and never looked back. We were lucky to get a date 4.5 months down the road, we had no intention of a long engagement and Martoca happen to have the perfect day available (which was really lucky) but this did not give us time to visit the venue or do a tasting. Luckily, our wedding planner with Martoca, Veronica, was incredible and put me at ease immediately, I truly never worried about anything. Veronica was on top of everything and made every effort in the planning process to be 2 steps ahead of me, a feat that is tough as I have been an event planner for over 10 years. She took extra care in every detail and sent me photos of the entire process from building the table settings to the floral arrangements. She came up with brilliant extra ideas that fit within my budget yet took the wedding to a whole new level like a live trio for our cocktail party. REHEARSAL I asked Veronica if she could help me plan the rehearsal because our hotel had not been helpful. She did for an incredibly reasonable prices and went above and beyond. She listened to my crazy requests, drove to Sayulita, another town, to check them out and ultimately found a place that was not on my list. She set everything up for a 4 course meal that was to die for and knocked the socks off my Mother In Law's feet. It was amazing, WEDDING DAY -On the wedding day, Veronica actually came to my hotel to see me, my bridal party and my family off to the venue and then stayed to ensure ALL the guest got on the bus to get over, followed by my soon to be husband and his groomsmen. This took an unbelievable amount of stress of me and allowed me to just be in the moment as we made the final touches to get ready and photos -When I showed up to the venue, there are not words to describe how perfect it was. Veronica and the Martoca team had taken my vision and made it 100 times better. But, it was really the personally touches that made the difference. The best example of this: The week of the wedding, we went early so we could surf a few days. Knowing this, Veronica had the table assignment signs and table numbers made in the shape of surfboards and in the colors of the wedding palette. This was complete surprise to me and nearly brought me to tears when we arrived. -Everything through the whole day went incredibly flawlessly, it was a big blur for me but it was amazing. Everyone in my family and friends was blown away and I heard more times than I can count that it was the most incredible wedding they had ever been to. And it was all for a fraction of what I could have done that wedding for in the US. In fact, I don't think I could do that wedding in the US or anywhere else.

I absolutely loved photographing a wedding at Martoca Beach Gardens! The staff was so helpful, they accommodated us well, and overall the experience is one of my favorites!! My favorite things they had at the venue was the "midnight food" with the churros and tacos, and I loved that they had a mariachi band. I can't wait to come back again!!

I can't even begin to describe how amazing our wedding was! We knew we wanted a destination wedding but were nervous planning our big day in a place we had never been. I am so glad we took that leap of faith and had our wedding here! From the planning to the execution, it was more than we could have ever hoped for! Our guests are still talking about our wedding 2 years later and they all say it was the best wedding they have ever been to. I wish I could relive it over and over! I loved that we were able to customize everything from the decorations to the food and the music. No cookie cutter options here. If you can dream it, they can create it! Thank you to Jimmy, Veronica, and the entire Martoca team for making our day one we will never forget!

Similar to what other reviews have said, it really is hard to put into words how incredible our experience with Martoca was. We found Martoca relatively early in the wedding planning process and after reaching out for more information, talking to Jimmy on the phone, and seeing all of the amazing photos and videos we instantly knew it was the place for us. They made us feel so welcome from start to finish and everything was perfect. Truly the perfect wedding venue and you won't find a better group of people to work with than Jimmy, Mariana (our wedding planner), and the rest of the Martoca team. Our group had so much fun and even a month later everyone can't stop talking about how it was the best wedding they've ever been to. It will be the wedding of your dreams and exceed any expectation you could ever have. I want to start the review off by giving an example of the outstanding service that they provide because I think we had a pretty unique day. We had our wedding on December 4th and that time of year there's an extremely small chance of rain and if it does rain it usually isn't for long. It just so happened that we were that small chance and it rained almost the entire evening. However, Mariana and the Martoca staff worked twice as hard to make sure that our wedding went as smooth as possible. Mariana showed that she is a true professional at what she does and made the right call every step of the way in order to make sure we got to do our cocktail hour, ceremony, first dance, etc. as uninterrupted and enjoyable as possible. The Martoca staff also worked so hard throughout the day from moving tables under the tent in the rain, hand drying everything, and constantly serving our guests while getting wet, and more (I attached a photo of them so you can see just how hard they were working for us!!!). We are really grateful for all of their efforts. While no one was expecting the rain, they showed that no matter the circumstances they will step up and make your wedding day the best that it can be and we all had an absolute blast and consider it even more memorable because of it. Overall, the wedding planning process was seamless. I could go on forever about how non-stressful and easy it was because of Mariana but I'll keep it short. My wife worked with Mariana from the start and she was very attentive and responsive and quickly picked up on our wedding vision. She pays attention to detail and even surprised us with a gift and a table card wall - she will go the extra mile to make your wedding perfect. The food was absolutely incredible too. By far the best food I've ever had at a wedding and it was like dining at a 5 star restaurant. Everything was so good from our appetizers to dinner and dessert to our late night tacos & churros. It's the type of food that is so good that people won't be able to stop talking about it. We can't thank everyone at Martoca enough for making our wedding day so special. It was absolutely perfect and we'll reminisce on it forever. Some other notes... I feel it is important to touch on the COVID-19 aspect of our trip since I'm sure that is making some people hesitant from traveling or doing a destination wedding. I felt safe the entire time I was in Mexico. The taxis, hotel staff, and Martoca team were all wearing masks and following appropriate protocols. Everything we did was outside and we didn't have anyone in our group get sick from the week we were in Mexico and it is probably worse where we are from than in Mexico. Photographer: Eva Sica of Ave Sol (https://www.avesol.mx/) - she is a very talented photographer and braved the rain to make sure we got great photos still. Would 100% recommend. Videographer: Ventana Stories (https://www.ventanastories.com/) - we've only received a preview of our video but it already looks amazing and you can tell they do great work. Similar to Eva, their team worked so hard in the rain to make sure we got some awesome video content. Hotel: Villa del Palmar Flamingo (https://flamingos.villadelpalmar.com/?partner=6513&utm_source=GMBlisting&utm_medium=organic) - was a good place to stay and affordable for all of our guests. We all enjoyed the stay and it was an easy bus ride to and from Martoca. THANK YOU MARTOCA!!! Love, Jake & Michelle

Our wedding day was unbelievably beautiful. Every detail was perfectly executed and exceeded our expectations. Our family and friends loved everything, especially the sunset, decor, flower wall, fireworks, jazz band, tacos and churros. The night was perfect and we firmly believe we could not have chosen a better location for our wedding. Thank you Veronica and Jimmy for making our day absolutely perfect. Martoca Beach Garden is the best wedding venue with the best staff. They will exceed your expectations for excellent service and amazing attention to detail.

Unfortunately, after spending a week there, I would not recommend it for the following reasons: - The food was pretty mediocre (except for the taco truck and Teppanyaki restaurant) - It's an older hotel and everything is a little bland in the presentation, plus they get super busy with a lot of local tourists for the weekend starting around Thursday night (pools are packed, lots of kids, service gets slower, etc.) - There really isn't too much too do there and everything is basically shut down by 10pm - For some reason every time they cleaned the room 1 to 3 mosquitos would get in and always end up biting you until you found and got rid of them all! There were some positives too, here is everything I liked: - The staff was super friendly and very helpful, always pretty attentive (for those that want it, they pick you up ina golf cart and drop you off anywhere on the property), also the gym was open 24/7, so that was nice - The Teppanyaki restaurant was amazing all around (but you can only reserve a table there one night during your entire stay!) - The taco truck had amazing tacos/quesadillas and was my favorite place to spot for lunch - I booked it for the nature-like environment in the mountains and I definitely linked that (plus lots of walking to get my steps in haha) - The breakfast bar in tower 6 was actually decent, but it's very far out of the way from the other parts of the hotel Food: 3/5 Drinks: 3.5/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 3/5 Value: 2.5/5 Overall: 3/5

Room selection is important as some of the rooms are subject to a lot of Noise both from the hallway and from the entertainment. I would suggest that building 5 or 6 are the quietest but further from the beach but not a long way. The breakfast and lunch restaurant is also a bit better and not so busy. We stayed in building 4 it was a bit noisy from the hall way as we were on the ground floor and near to where the wifi and restaurant sighnup was. The restaurant signup is daily which is a pain in the ass. You can do it online each morning at 8 but the app rarely works. The restaurants are shit, with the exception of the Picollo Medateranian. We tried three then just decided queing up for them was not worth it. The restaurant down by the beach is okay most nights were decent but it all depends on how many Mexican nationals there are on site. It can be a lot of beans and rice along with weird stewed meats. Beach is decent, alot of vendors coming by so if it bothers you don't go,. The pool scene up in building 5-6 is better and more laid back than down in 1,2,3. They price the seaview rooms higher but to be honest I couldnt stand all the noise all day. The shows are generally pretty lame. The drinks are good and the beer is Dos Equis so I was happy about that. All in all it's not bad if you can get a good deal on it. We paid 3200 for two, for 10 days but were ready to leave for sure. Really 5.5 out of 10. PS they keep the place really clean for the amount of traffic it gets!

We were genuinely looking forward to staying at Distrito 88 and had carefully planned this trip…read more The service we received revealed a level of rigidity and indifference that was genuinely alarming. One week before our scheduled arrival, cartel-related violence broke out in the broader region due to the assassination of the leader El Mencho. Public reporting and widely circulated videos showed masked gunmen firing weapons in public streets, vehicles and gas stations set on fire, and road blockades established in multiple areas. The U.S. government issued advisories urging travelers to shelter in place and avoid unnecessary movement. This was not vague travel anxiety. It was documented unrest occurring days before we were set to arrive. I personally spoke with several people who had friends or family visiting the region who feared for their lives. After reviewing the situation at length, we made a safety-based decision not to proceed. Our airline refunded us. Another accommodation on this same trip refunded us. Distrito 88 refused to offer any flexibility on a $1,600 reservation. What was most troubling wasn't simply the refusal. We received repeated, almost scripted responses stating that everything was "happy and vibrant as always" and emphasizing that a "travel advisory is not a travel restriction." Technically, that distinction may be correct. But dismissing legitimate safety concerns less than a week after visible, documented violence I saw with my own eyes felt profoundly unreasonable. There was a complete lack of empathy and no cooperation to even provide a partial refund. We understand that conditions may have improved since those events, and we genuinely hope that is the case for the safety of the local community and visitors alike. However, our decision was made based on the realities at the time- widely reported unrest and official government advisories. It is not reasonable to expect travelers monitoring those developments to disregard them simply because a property assures them that everything is peaceful. We understand cancellation policies during normal circumstances. This was not normal. Hospitality is not only about enforcing fine print, it requires exercising judgment when circumstances change quickly and safety concerns are credible. Instead, the decision conveyed that protecting short-term revenue took precedence over acknowledging a good-faith concern for personal safety. Keeping $1,600 under these conditions may be defensible under policy. It also demonstrates that revenue protection takes priority over legitimate safety concerns raised by guests. This is not the standard of hospitality we expect, or support. Future travelers should consider carefully before booking.

We communicated our vision with Evgenia beforehand which was more candid photos so that we could be fully present on our wedding day. Well, Evgenia blew our vision out of the park! Our wedding photos came out stunning and truly capture the energy, emotions, and loving moments of our wedding day. Evgenia told our story beautifully through her lens and we are eternally grateful for all the stunning photos we have to look back on. Her work is truly impeccable and to this day we are blown away every time we look at our wedding photos. We had a destination wedding in Puerto Vallarta. We were initially a little nervous about going with a local wedding photographer, although when I saw Evgenia's beautiful work on instagram I decided to inquire about her wedding photography. She quickly responded and met up with my husband and I in person while we were on vacation in Puerto Vallarta. After meeting with her in person, we immediately knew that we wanted her as our wedding photographer and booked her right away. She connected us with a local videographer (Me and My Wife Films/Max Conrad) who is just as amazing and talented (Evgenia and Max are truly the perfect duo!). Evgenia has such a calming presence and is amazing at communicating, which is a breath of relief that every bride needs. She goes out of her way to help her clients in any way she can, even if it's unrelated to wedding photography. She truly was our saving grace in many instances during our wedding planning process which I'm BEYOND grateful for. She had also previously captured weddings at our venue which was a huge advantage as she was familiar with the area and knew the best spots for photos. We got our wedding photos back so fast, and when I say my jaw dropped when I saw our photos I mean it! She truly is so talented and we are so blessed to have had her capture our special day. We would hire her again and again in a heartbeat! Thank you Evgenia for making our dream wedding live on forever through your art, we will cherish our wedding photos for the rest of our lives.

My husband and child went zip lining while I enjoyed a couple of margaritas (best I had in PV) and read in the restaurant. The food was delicious, my daughter loved playing in the river, and we got to hold a toucan, a lemur, and a marmoset. Overall, a fantastic experience at a reasonable price! Something to be aware of--the seats on the boat aren't very comfortable and my back and hips hurt a lot by the time we were halfway across the bay. Taking the truck might be better for people who need a backrest and leg room.

Our guide told us "go order your food, then go enjoy your photos with the animals while you wait for your food" this was smart advice. I am not one that is a huge fan of animals, but I will say that the staff was very friendly and really was patient with us and the animals. The food was amazing! It may be a little pricer than other areas, but you are paying for the experience with the animals too. There is no cell reception at this location, and there are signs to swim at your own risk in the water below the restaurant. I really wish I could have done a canopy tour that included the zip lining as it looked awesome from afar! But I was still happy to settle for eating sat the restaurant and interacting with the animals. Pro tip: if you're American and paying with a credit card with no foreign transaction fees, be sure to have them charge you in pesos to your card. You'll thank me later
