I usually do my Kickboxing at college but because of the long breaks between Semesters I had to find another place to keep me going. Martial Arts Inc. offer a great variety of classes, including my personal favourite Kickboxing for women taught by female instructors- and you can either join group classes or go for one-on-one sessions with one of the instructors, which is especially useful when you're preparing for a grading to move up another belt. They also offer student discount on the group classes, which is an extra bonus for me. read more

Walked in off the street 2 years ago with no experience and not sure what to expect but I can honestly say I've enjoyed every hour I've spent here. There are few forms of exercise as diverse and none that are nearly as enjoyable. It's a real privilege to have access to such knowledgeable instructors who give the same attention to complete novices and their more experienced students. Some credit has to go to the great members too. Everyone and anyone can come to train and everyone shares the attitude of motivating each other a little further. They don't have drill sergeants but you find yourself pushing your limits anyway and having lots of tiny personal victories as you make little improvements. To put all this together everyone is encouraged to work on belt syllabus so you have some milestone achievements and a proper target. They also have seminars or courses throughout the year focussing on specific areas (kicking, boxing, self-defence etc...). These are an opportunity to get some very focussed training and possibly make more of a breakthrough in some aspect. MAI is the original dojo in town, the others don't even approach their calibre. Try one class and you'll be hooked. read more
MAI is exactly what you want. It doesn't matter if you're making your way through the belts, just want to blow off some steam after work, or just want to get fitter. You'll get what you want.
The coaching staff are fun, not-too-serious but know their stuff.
The other people training don't have an ego among them and you'll be encouraged, not intimidated.
