My wife and I took multiple Italian language programs and Jessica, our instructor, was the best (lei a' perfetta!). NCE in general offers so many classes, many language, skill learning, physical education, technical etc that there is really something for everyone. Their prices are very very reasonable (if you are thinking about learning a language look to NCE first - the others are very expensive). Our classroom was on W Charlotte in an old high school that was turned into a learning center, air conditioned, easy parking, a very nice learning environment. It is sponsored by the City of Nashville, and you can see their quarterly classes on line and download a quarterly education catalog (spring, summer, fall, winter). NCE is a great low-risk, low-cost way to finally get out and learn something new!

Tammy is so knowledgeable about academia and how to navigate to find the best school and learning environment for each child to be a successful student regardless of age! From a parent that has used her in many different aspects, Tammy is not only intelligent but children love her! Children tend to gravitate toward her, she really has a way of getting through to each child. She is a God send for parents to help them determine what is best for their child and also become a liaison between parent and school administration. Since she has so many years of experience from not only a teaching aspect but from the administration side of education, she is the perfect person to help guide not only the child and child's family she is trying to help, but the school or administration side to work together for the betterment of both the child's success and the success of the school. In the end it is a "Win Win" for both sides involved! Katie is such an understanding and compassionate person, who loves children. Since Katie's background and degrees are in education with special emphasis in special education, this allows her a special patience and understanding when dealing with children. I feel she has a unique way of explaining and instructing children that they really respond too. She has been helping tutor our son for several years now and has help him achieve success in all his academic studies. She has also help him with organizational and test taking skills. But even with all of that, my son just loves to share his thoughts and successes with Katie. She has help him want to push to be a better student and person. She has become like one of the family. However, I knew I needed something more to improve my skills. The in person classes taught me how to create lesson plans that were interesting and engaging. Word games, pictures, and roleplaying, in addition to structure, made learning a joy for students and teacher. Also, being certified as an ESL teacher opened the door for employment to nonprofits including TLC. I'm grateful for the numerous students from all over the globe they have brought to me. They have trained counselors that work 24/7 to tackle abuse. They have support groups, outreach and advocacy, transitional housing and other resources. They also provide free GED education to men and women and mentor middle school girls. They try to educate and encourage and break down barriers of racism, violence, and hopelessness. They also started 2 new programs in 2013 that try to help individuals (after having moved out of abusive households to safety) to go to the next step of self-sufficiency. The overall ambiance was nice and peaceful, allowing me to do my own thing at my own pace. I felt very comfortable and not as though I was inconveniencing or bothering anyone. The facility itself is clean and maintained from what I could see or note from the outside. I wasn't sure if I had access to the inside of the building so I didn't bother entering. The turf area, In particular the lacrosse field, was in excellent condition, which made my workout and experience even more enjoyable.
