Very upset to find out that this Marshalls opened up after I moved out of Washington Heights. They always do that to me wherever I live. Lots of stores popping up after I leave. Then when I return to the area, the whole area is 360 degrees versus what I got when I used to be there. Sucks So this Marshalls is in a newly renovated hub at the Port Authority bus terminal, which was opened after I left! So pissed because shopping options were limited back in the day. This Marshalls isn't that big though in my opinion. I checked out the kids/toddlers section and there was not that many options left. Also it is somewhat messy and a lot of clothes especially in the toddlers only have 1 size left because either a lot of people took them or it's just 1 item of that style. Some of the styles are also dirty from someone's makeup or food stains so that sucks. Good thing is that the bathrooms work here last time I came. read more

C'mon, man! Can you even pretend you're a real store? Aside from the fact that you disrespect this area by using it as a dumping ground for merchandise that you can't sell elsewhere (mostly damaged) and to warehouse employees that can't cut it in a real store, now you expect your customers (remember, that's supposed to be the point) to handle your carting/recycling for you? No. And then the smarmy attitude!!!!! That was just too much! If you consider your merchandise crap and want me to take out your trash along with it, well, that's hardly a selling point! What you were trying to sell for $200 ended up sitting at the cash register along with my wasted time because you equated it with trash, and, quite frankly, I couldn't carry both. And why should I? To save your carting fees? No. Customers are *people* (yes, we are human beings first! What d'ya know!) who are willing to give you money in exchange for merchandise. Hire competent people who understand that that is why people are in your store. To buy things that they want/need. Not to take out the garbage for you. I can honestly say that I have found a few good items here; the trick was going RIGHT when it opens! Actually... I SHOULD BE IN MARSHALLS RIGHT NOW trying to find hidden treasures! Men- sorry. Doesn't have a good selection of items compared to other Marshall's I've been to. Lines are in sane and the furniture and rugs don't have price tags so you have to wait an eternity on line because staff can never figure out the price. They need better management and better stock of items. Super disappointing and I love Marshall's! read more

It's great to finally have a Marshalls in our neighborhood. It keeps me from going all the way to the Bronx or East Harlem, but this Marshall's seems to be always packed. I like that they have late closing times like 8-10pm but if you come during those late hours it has long lines. It's also hard for things to ever be in order since there are so many customers going through things. I always promise myself that I will come in the morning time so I can check for clothing peacefully and when things are hopefully more in order. Don't come out of your way for this one and if you plan to shop here try your best to come in the morning. read more

I went to this Marshall's on a Tuesday morning at about 9am. I always prefer to shop in the morning, when shops are still organized, peaceful, and store associates aren't aggressive yet. This Marshall's doesn't have much along the lines of good brands. Sometimes you can fine Lucky Brand, Levi's, Joe's Jeans, and Cynthia Rowley tops. I even found a Theory shirt once. And a Blank NYC real suede jacket. It's hit or miss, but don't expect to find quality brands. Their beauty department is pretty large and has potentially great products, but almost all the products have been opened by barbaric shoppers. They have yoga mats. I got a Manduka Pro Mat yoga mat for $50 (retail $130). The food section is small, but they have some good gourmet food finds which can make for unique gifts. I got Krispy Kreme Jelly Beans, Black Licorice Jelly Beans, Ginger Orange Chimes, Ginger Mango Chimes, and cinnamon sticks. In the shoe section, the main brands were Nike, Adidas, and Under Armour, including Jordan's and Tubular's. Don't go out of your way, but if you're in the neighborhood, check it out!i read more

I LOVE Marshalls because everything is so inexpensive and I love browsing the homegoods section. However, this one is probably my least favorite. I was so excited to see that a new Marshalls was opening but the few times I've been here it was a bust. Everything is disorganize and there aren't many selection and the checkout line takes FOREVER. There are always so many people. Don't recommend coming here unless you have time to kill before taking a NJ bus. read more

The worst Marshall's I have ever been to. There is no organization, the men's shoe section is horrible, disgusting, and the staff are helpless. I feel like the staff take the best products before they go on the floor. They also sell more than each person allowed to buy at a a time, which makes it impossible to even see new inventory on the floor. They need to change asap!!! The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because of my experience with a return. Here's the 2 star part: I returned something I purchased online using Paypal. I know that with Paypal payment you get a merchandise credit and that's no big deal. It took a sales associate, 2 supervisors and a manager 20 minutes to issue a "no receipt" credit (I had the receipt) which can't be used online. 5 star part: During my next visit, I asked to speak to a manager because since I do a lot of my shopping online, this didn't seem right. Not only did Gabriel confirm that the return was done wrong, he fixed it so that I got the proper credit that can be used both online and in stores. He was patient and so helpful. Karla made sure that I had everything I needed. I want to add that this Marshalls location has the friendliest, most helpful associates and staff. I was psyched for this new installment to the lackluster retail of Washington Heights. On the positive side, they have a great selection of quality brands. Yet despite being brand new, this place is already feels mismanaged. On the weekend you can expect to stand in line for 15+ minutes. Three open registers is not enough for a Saturday, y'all! I've popped in on several occasions, picked out a few things, only to put them back seeing a line 30 deep. Careless stuff I've noticed--shoes on display not matching the boxes underneath and on two occasions clothes with massive stains on them--gets under my skin. Been here twice since it's recent opening on 9/21/17. And let's just say that although I'm not the most avid shopper out there, I've frequented my share of Marshalls (all over the city and then some) more often than I'd like to admit. This place, despite being brand spanking new, leaves me unimpressed. The home goods section is not as thoroughly stocked as other Marshalls and the lines can be extremely long. And often, you'll find items on the ground. With that said, staff have been friendly and courteous. There are two entrances, both of which are easy to find and manned by security. Perhaps its only fault is being new to an area that has been missing out on some Marshalls goodness, so everyone is looking to purchase items as soon as they hit the shelves? Who knows! In spite of my (minor) complaints, I'm glad it's here since the stuff that you DO find are actually affordable. read more

The line was too long. I went there on Thursday morning at 11am to buy a few things. The line was moving super slow. There were 4 cashiers, but they were moving so slow, and some of them were talking to each other while they were taking care of customers... It's Marshall's so, you know what to expect. They are usually pretty busy with long lines at all times. This location can be hit or miss with the women's/junior's clothing but they are usually well stocked in other departments. There's a fitting room attendant who seems permanently annoyed and a bit hostile when she needs to assist someone but other than that, you can probably find something good here. read more

I go because it's the only real thing around but I've probably walked out and put my items back more times then actually buying things. The line is also just plain ridiculous. I mean at times wrapped around and then all the way to almost the back of the door. Make sure you have time to wait 30+ min on line. Y'all need to do something about these check out lines. It shouldn't take more then ONE person to check out a customer. Physically getting a manager to the register if there's an issue shouldn't take 10 minutes. Once manager is there it shouldn't take another 10 minutes to resolve the issue. Work it out. The gigantic lines that form (im in one right now 40 mins after opening which i didn't think was possible so early) are ridiculous and unsafe during these times. Love the store! However there's always a HUGE line. No matter at what time of the day you decide to arrive there's always such a long line that reaches the other door in the back. What a shame! Just as I started to like the store. Also, the many times I have gone to this Marshall's I've caught employees with their masks under their noses as well as not doing anything about other customers who had their face masks all the way down where it was not covering BOTH nose and mouth. Absolutely disgusting! This place needs to hire NEW staff and managers because they don't seem to care about the safety of the store. I mean, how can you let over it seems 200 people in such a small store??? It's absolutely disgraceful and DISGUSTING. Don't come here unless you want to catch COVID. Absolutely horrifying. Great bargains, but with management behaving in a totally incompetent manner I can see why there are so many negative reviews. I had to purchase a kitchen thingy and while looking around I picked up a set of glass measuring cups that weren't secured very well and accidentally broke the smallest one. No problem, I broke it, I gotta buy it. So I tell management before I head to the cashier that there's glass on the floor, he might want to send someone over to clean it up. You know, because that's a liability issue. Dude listens with one ear and continues his phone call. I make it over to the cashier, explain the situation and say I'll pay for it. She's like, no let's see what I can do which is nice but unnecessary. So she then takes the broken items to her supervisor who eventually offers to mark it down. Ok. I'm tired of arguing and it's a nice gesture, so sure. But of course, their system is down so I have to wait and the line behind continues to grow. Again I appreciate the gesture but I was more than willing to pay the whole price, especially if I can about standing in line for 10 minutes. Finally, made it out and of course, the manager has not called anyone this entire time to take care of the glass shards too small to pick up in his kitchen isle. Store is ok, though unorganized, and selection is not very good. My main complaint is with the customer service. I bought a piece of luggage only to have the wheel break a few days later. They would not accept it as a return even though I have the receipt and it was essentially a faulty piece of equipment and the bag had a warranty. Only giving a star because at least there's a Marshall's in our neighborhood. Not only is the store poorly stocked and organized but it is run by incompetent management. The stores hours are clearly noted online and at the store however employees start harassing their customers over the speakers to start bringing their items to the register claiming the store would be closing in "half an hour" or "fifteen minutes" when the store is clearly open for at least another hour. I have witnessed it several times because I am only able to visit the store after 8 PM. Management is fully aware this is happening and has gone as far as giggling at the disservice while announcements are being made. It happens several times over the course of 20-30 minutes I'm actually trying to shop. There's no reason to lie to the customers or have them Rush if the store is clearly closing at a specific time. Perhaps the employees and management should do a better job of training their employees to check out customers faster. That way people are in standing in line 30 to 40 minutes at a time during every single visit. The employees might be trying to get out on time, but that should not be detrimental to their clients or customers. Quite frankly customers money is what keeps them employed. Training for employees and management is obviously needed at this location. read more
