I was not feeling well, so I scheduled an appointment at EMA. I called at 10 am and was able to get…read morean appointment at 1 pm. I was so grateful. When I arrived the receptionist was on the phone with another patient, so she did not greet me or acknowledge that I arrived. The one finger signal would have been sufficient. After she got off the phone she asked me to come to the desk. I had not been there in a while so I needed to fill out new forms. The clinic aide was very sweet, however she told me that my blood pressure was very high, 160/80. I was scared, my blood pressure had never been out of normal ranges. When Dr. C arrived in the exam room he seemed not interested in my concerns and I had to ask him to verify my blood pressure. He checked my blood pressure again and said it was normal. Next the clerk that accepts the co-pays had an attitude. I left the office feeling confused. Do I have high pressure? I had to go to a pharmacy and use one of those blood pressure machine to verify my blood pressure. I discovered that I am pre-hypertension. I will never go again.

Dr. Gorcey is a devoted master endocrinologist, who always seems to be on the cutting edge of his field, using the newest medical advancements, and eliminating reasons for patients to be nervous about having the procedures done. His staff exudes the same upbeat/positive attitude that resides in him. Each staff member appears to understand the importance their own roles in the entire process and to the patient. Each step, from signing in through recovery was well coordinated and went amazingly smooth. It is so good (and not so common in my experience) to see a medical staff that is so well trained, operates in a teamwork mentality, and is happy to be doing what they are doing. All of this (and the new same day 2-hour prep!) made for another very positive experience for me as a patient.

They are pretty good but they once misdiagnosed me and caused me to lose hearing in one ear for…read moreweeks. I had to see an ent. Turns out I needed antibiotics and urgent care diagnosed me with an outer ear infection and only gave me ear drops, making the problem worse. A few weeks after the infection I woke up in the middle of the night with this horrible pain and ringing in my ear and I lost hearing in one ear for weeks. I went to an ent and got put on antibiotics and had to keep seeing him for a few months to get my hearing back in that ear. But there have been times when family first urgent care has been great. I would say if you're going for a standard test, like a strep test or something or if it's a Saturday or Sunday and no one else is open and you're desperate, then they're fine.
