Dr. Dominick Grosso has been my doctor now for over 10 years. I don't feel like he is my doctor but part of my family. I am here to write a review to let others like myself who needed a caring doctor. And that is who I got when I first went to the good doctors office. Let's start from the beginning. My old doctor would not write a script or sometimes test even though I was in pain. And she was so impatient and harsh. I am a RSR for Frito Lay who had been injured on the job twice. My spine is not the same and probably needs surgery. In fact I do. Since my injuries I have gained weight and other health problems. Dr. Grosso has monitored every problem I had from Sleep Apnea to Diverticulitis. His diagnosis is right on the mark. He has ordered test or has given me medication for my problems. And he follows it up with a phone call. For Example. He sent me to Riverview Medical Center after seeing my Right Calf was bigger than the other. He was worried about Deep Vein Thrombosis. After testing I didn't have that but thank you doctor. When I first went to Dr. Grosso he may seem gruff at first but that is only because he cares. I do want him to tell me about how unhealthy some weight I gained. Who wants a doctor that just goes through the motions. We discussed weight loss with exercise and nutrition. Now, we kid each other each time I come. He knows my New York sense of humor and accent. And I know his. In fact he now has my wife as his patient for the last 8 years since she changed doctors herself. My wife, who is a hypochondriac since she had a medical problem in 2002 and now askes 100 questions of what she thinks is wrong with her. The same woman that looks 10 years younger than she is. But the good doctor answers every question she has and in fact my wife amuses him. The Good Doctors office is in Red Bank but I come to him even if I live in South Wall. Even Dr. Grosso asked me why wouldn't I get a doctor closer to me. I said why would I? Why change because of 25 to 30 minutes when you feel satisfied. And thats what we feel. From Dr. Grosso, to his assistants, Betty and Nancy and the others who work for him, you can't get better service and friendliness. From Nancy squeezing me in when I felt sick, to Betty who does everything, you are in great hands. So before I end this review my younger son started going to the doctor. So it is a family affair. Thank You Doctor Grosso and his great staff. Tony and Vickie read more

Trying to make an appointment with these people was truly a cruel experience. After I was told they took my insurance by their staff, I showed up having filled out all of my paperwork and then was told by in a very negative, cruel and condescending way that they would never take Medicaid. She mentioned there had been new staff who made there error, but she was mean spirited and handled the situation poorly, leaving me feeling uncomfortable and humiliated as I left. I understand human error, but that older receptionist with the bad leg really hurt my feelings for no reason and I hope she finds a profession more suited to her standards. read more

Very good doctor. Very friendly with a good bed side manner. Detailed in his approach and diagnosis

I have been a patient of Dr. Grosso for decades; he is an excellent communicator and does a thorough examination. He listens to all of my concerns and addresses each one of them in detail. He keeps the office visits light hearted while being serious at the same time. He orders all of the tests I need and relays the results back to me in a timely fashion. The office staff is professional and courteous; they always treat me with respect, and take the time necessary to manage my needs. It would be hard to find a better primary care physician than Dr. Grosso! read more

If negative two stars is possible you would receive it because you were unnecessarily cruel to me as a human being. I came to you with severe abdominal pain and suffering from IBS that you had not diagnosed asking for help. Instead you're choice of words we're that "Woman your age and FAT (I'M 42 YEAR'S OLD & 130 LBS. YOUR TONE & JUDGEMENTAL ADITUDE) were not welcomed. I'm not very Politically correct in life but what you said was very upsetting to me personally when I was suffering. Ask your wife or mom or mistress or boyfriend, don't assume like whom may not appreciate your tone, attitude or assumptions by me as a woman my age and fat cuz those are the exact words you said to me. ObviouslyI have moved on & want other clients to avoid any interactions with you cause I gave you 3 chances & 3 strikes your out & are done with you. read more

A single doc, small time practice in cramped quarters with billing Dept issues. I do not trust this practice, the staff and it's business practices. read more

What was looking for in a Primary Care Physician? I've been to many doctors in my life but it was always the same thing of what symptoms do you have and a quick check up and a prescription was handed to me with an if you don't feel any better in 5 days schedule another appointment. I been a patient of Dr. Grosso for 25+ years. My first physical with Dr. Grosso was a revelation on how you should be examined from head to toe. The examine was very thorough. Thru the years I had my share of illnesses and cancer in which Dr. Grosso has consulted with me on the best point of action for my physical well being. I trust his professional opinion and am grateful to him for caring for me in times of physical needs. read more

I was a patient of Grosso's for 2 years before he turned his practice into a concierge service. Not a bad doctor by any means, but not a great one either. His staff is awful. They are completely disorganized and nasty. My pharmacist has mentioned to me several times how nasty the receptionist is to her. A PHARMACIST. Someone just trying to do their job. Don't waste your time, there are better and less expensive practices in Red Bank. read more

Dr Grosso has been treating myself and my parents for years now, and I have nothing but great things to say about him and his staff. As far as the concierge services, I don't use them but nothing has changed and I still receive amazing service. I called because I was going to be late recently and they stayed open for me!! It was just a follow up but they were and have always been very accommodating. I highly recommend him read more

My wife and I were patients of Dr. Grosso for something like 25 years. He is a good doctor. Period. He tells it to you straight, and I had no problem recommending him to friends or others seeking out a PCP. My only negative....having blood drawn was a nightmare. I have small invisible veins. I felt like a pin cushion when he drew my blood. Yet, when going to the hospital or a lab like Quest Diagnostics, I've had blood drawn with no pain, quick and easy. Very minor. I just went to the labs. Thats what they do for a living, and its reasonable to expect that they get better at it doing little else day after day. Dr. Grosso has recently established a "concierge practice". According to all I've read, the idea (for the physician) is to see fewer patients, and make more money doing it. So, they charge an annual fee (not covered by insurance), just for you to continue being a patient. You receive a bunch of pseudo benefits (cell phone access, longer visits, etc)....but it basically comes down to paying a hefty fee for continuing to be a patient ..... or else, see a nurse practitioner (at the full price for seeing a doctor, of course). I want to see a real doctor, and having recently retired, I don't want to pay close to $4,000 each year for my wife and I to be able to continue to have him as our physician. Thats a hefty price for having his cell phone number on my iPhone. This doesn't mean he is greedy. This is a trend in medicine. Doctors aren't happy with what the insurance companies or Medicare are willing to pay for services, and want to boost their margins. There are third party companies in this business, who set up these "concierge services" for doctors on a turn key basis. They even call you up asking if you intend to "join the club" or not. But I found out that most other doctors in the area are happy to take on patients, and my initial visits with my new physician are completely satisfactory. I wish Dr. Grosso well. He's a good doctor, and a good guy, But at this juncture, I can't afford the cost of being a loyal patient. read more

I've been with Dr Grosso since we moved back to the area 20 years ago and I couldn't be happier with the care and level of service my wife and I receive from him personally and his staff. His office visits are professional and accurate, as is the follow up, when needed (in person, virtual or over the phone). I have, and will, continue to recommend him to friends and family. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Grosso for over 30 years and he is always compassionate and extremely accurate and thorough. Several times I had to go to a specialist and they always said they were impressed with all the tests and completeness of his diagnosis read more

Appointment reminders are not delivered effectively. I pity anyone seeing him for psychiatric concerns or weight management. He game me a snarky comment about not being overweight or depressed like most people. As if we were in some club and could look down at those who may struggle with such things. There are better doctors out there. read more

This doctor needs to retire sooner rather than later. He is not an advocate of his patients, instead, he has some sort of inferiority complex that is evident in the way he treats his patients. I am not certain if it stems from the fact that he is a DO and not an MD, but any doctor who has a mug in his office that says Google cannot replace me, is clearly insecure and is feeling threatened in some way. He makes no eye contact during visit, instead choses to keep his back turned while he types away at the computer the entire time. Any good doctor knows that any human connection you make with your patient can be the most telling. He would rather rush through, type away what you are saying verbatim and send you on your way. If you ask questions or have anything additional to add, he is condescending in tone, as he feels he is being challenged in some way. This doctor has serious issues that need to be addressed before he should allowed to care for ill patients. Humiliating patients should not be part of the protocol to healing. Do yourself a favor, find a good credentialed doctor who actually wants to advocate for you as patient. A doctor who will be caring and kind, when you are feeling at your worst. There are many of them out there! Stay far away from this Doctor. read more
