On first visit, PA was interested and attentive. On second visit, he was distracted, distant and…read morerunning 45 minutes late for an 8:30am appt. I sat in an exam room for 40 minutes, sticking my head out the door occasionally after the 30 minute mark to ask if I should reschedule. I was told it would be "any minute"! I had faxed my x-ray report 3 days prior to visit. When he finally came in, the PA had not looked it over yet, had to go find it (!) came back to the exam room and read the 3 sentence report, and then told me to schedule another appt. for treatment (acupuncture). Hmm, really? I told him that I was expecting to have the acupuncture treatment that day, as I had sent in the report prior, had waited almost an hour to see him, and had driven 40 minutes (they are in the foothills, I'm in Sacramento), to get to their office. He had to get permission (honest!) from the office manager to administer the acupuncture treatment. Getting "permission" took another 20 minutes. He wasn't too happy with me at this point, put needles in my back (I had a knee injury, but what do I know about acupuncture), and left the room. Half hour later, a nurse came in, took the needles out and said I could reschedule for another session if I wanted. So if all this wasn't annoying enough, the bill I received from them had TWO co-pays, one for the 2 minute office visit, and one for the acupuncture from the very same visit. I inquired about it, and was told I had essentially had two visits, and yup, pay up. I had such high hopes for this place. There is not much choice in the area for functional medicine practitioners, and unfortunately, I had to cross this place off my list. You should as well. A side note, really a pet peeve of mine, the front reception staff makes you wait standing in front of the counter while they finish their conversations with each other. I heard all about one of the gals afternoon watching her son play his little league game. Customer service anyone?

I am an ex patient, to be clear. Over the last four years this practice has shifted from patient…read morecentric to money centric. The front staff are always annoyed on a good day and extremely rude on a bad day. I have never felt so much like an imposition as I ddid when I walked in the door to this practice. The nursing staff are aloof. No matter when my appointment was scheduled I had to wait almost an hour ( even if I was the first patient of the day). As a "holistic" patient I was only allowed 30 minutes with the doctor, and, yes they time it with an egg timer. That would have been enough if the doctor didn't spend the first 15 minutes reviewing my records trying to remember who I was. And then he would spend ten minutes "educating" my on the issues I already knew I had which left five minutes for what I wanted to discuss. Then, you guessed it, time's up and see you next time. Now you have to buy an annual membership for $2,400. Not sure what that gets you because I wouldn't spend my hard earned money for this poor treatment. The concept of this practice is wonderful. Too bad the actuality doesn't come close to the promise and hype.
