First time ever having any sort of surgery. I was referred here by NKC Dental Group since my wisdom…read moretooth was in close proximity to my jaw nerve. I was able to get in same day by noon and leaving around 2pm. I was very nervous doing this since it was new territory for me but I felt more and more at ease with each interaction. The front desk ladies made sure to go over all the documentation I was signing and also went over all my options for anesthesia as well as after care instructions. They were very patient with me and could tell I was a bit anxious. I will say, I did have to wait a bit before being taken back but this is expected with a same day appointment so I am not in the least bit upset! I waited no more than 30 minutes!! The Doctor answered all my questions and even made sure to over inform me on everything that would be happening while I was under. I do not remember falling asleep or waking up, it felt like a matter of minutes. These ladies made my experience a walk in the park. I am currently on day 4 post-op and have very little pain and swelling! I could not be happier with my experience and level of service everyone provided.

Dr. Brown is good. Office management is a mess. Some of the ladies working there were very nice,…read morebut the whole office is poorly managed. I got botox treatment in my jaw for TMJ. Came to FSG because they processed through medical insurance. After booking the second appointment, I let them know that I had new insurance, and wanted to get that process going. I called no less than three separate times to speak with the insurance coordinator. Left messages, multiple times, with all the information. Today, on the day of my appointment they finally call back as i'm on my way to the appointment, and tell me that they didn't listen to any of my voicemails. They don't charge insurance any longer. When i got to the office they said it would be $1200. Its not even about the money, its about the fact that the office is so poorly run that they couldn't tell me that ahead of time. I'm in pain and need that treatment, now I have to make a new appointment somewhere else, and wait another month to get relief.

Update: Aspen customer service advised me that charging patients more than the insurance approved…read morepre-estimate is not company policy. I am sharing this in hopes of saving others time, stress, and money. I will admit that I did not behave appropriately during my final interaction with the office. I left upset and called Lacy a vulgar name in front of other patients. That was wrong, and I take responsibility for it. My opinion of how I was treated by her, however, has not changed. My concern is with the billing practices in this office. I previously worked in medical billing in a supervisory role, so I understand insurance contracts, allowable amounts, bundled charges, pre-estimates, and patient responsibility calculations. Several things about this situation raised serious concerns for me. I was told I needed to pay half of a $5,600 treatment plan up front for crown replacement work. That part was not the issue. The issue was that the office was not charging the insurance approved amount. Half down should have been approximately $1,309, yet I was asked to pay more than double that amount before treatment. When I contacted my insurance company, they advised me that billing above contracted allowable amounts may violate provider agreements. They also advised me they would be reviewing their relationship with this office. My insurance company attempted a three way call with the office to clarify the billing, but the office declined because they stated they were no longer willing to treat me. I simply wanted an explanation as to why the office was attempting to charge amounts that did not align with the insurance approved pre-estimate. Contracted insurance rates are not subjective. The office repeatedly stated they had called my insurance company with all procedure codes to provide accurate pricing. However, the insurance representative I spoke with stated there were no notes showing that such a call occurred. They did confirm that on 5/6/2026 coverage was verified, and the pre-estimate from Aspen was received that same day. According to my insurance company, the written pre-estimate overrides verbal benefit quotes. The pre-estimate reflected a patient responsibility of approximately $873 per crown including buildup. The office attempted to charge approximately $1,903 per tooth. The office also collected $236 for items I was later told were "no charge" items and that, to my knowledge, were not used during treatment. Communication with the office manager, Lacy, was extremely difficult. I was repeatedly interrupted and could not get a direct answer as to why the office was not honoring the insurance approved pre-estimate. At one point she also stated they had not yet received the pre-estimate from insurance, despite insurance later confirming otherwise. She repeatedly stated that "this is Aspen's policy," which Aspen customer service later told me was not true. By the end of the interaction, Lacy seemed oddly proud to lose a patient. As I walked out, she had a very smug expression, almost like she had handled this conversation many times before. I was surprised by the lack of professionalism during the financial portion of my experience. I encourage patients to carefully review treatment plans, pre-estimates, EOBs, and itemized charges before agreeing to large upfront payments at this office This says it all https://fox4kc.com/news/problem-solvers/more-patients-come-forward-after-fox4-investigation-into-chain-of-dental-practices/?fbclid=IwZnRzaAR7KSxleHRuA2FlbQIxMQBzcnRjBmFwcF9pZAo2NjI4NTY4Mzc5AAEez9cS4eBlhO8FfvQlob-jmio-7IgcT56kbLtEo7QZpoviOfiCdaTRIeUg5kw_aem_w3E6CsAAPrq4sIRze_BEhQ

The receptionist…read morediscussed with me what kind of services I was seeking, a crown and set me up with the best doctor for that type of dental work. Dr Yip. although my first appointment was to be just a new patient visit, Dr Yup was willing to go ahead and get me all taken care of the same day. He created the best treatment plan for me to give me an amazing smile for life. instead of spending more money on a crown and implants he was able to give me back a beautiful smile with a bridge instead. it was more affordable and absolutely gorgeous. The amazing staff reviewed the treatment plan cost with me before the work was started and set me up on an affordable payment plan. During my second visit to have the bridge placed Angie went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable by addressing any pain and discomfort and offering me a drink and a blanket. Angie was positive and had a fun energy and a great laugh. with such professional staff I felt very well cared for and beyond satisfied with my incredibly beautiful smile that gave me in a week with two short visits. I am forever grateful and only trust my smile and my budget to Dr Yip and his amazing team. Thank you so much for giving me back my smile and my confidence to live my best life.
