I've never met a more compassionate, caring veterinarian. Definitely worth the drive to Lacon.

I would like to say Carol and her team at animal care clinic in Chillicothe gave us another…read moresuccessful visit. She thoroughly check my little bichon rescue dog. Made sure she's doing well as she's getting older. Started on a new treatment of Apoquel for her allergies yesterday. The amazing difference in my dog. It is wonderful! She never woke up once when she was sleeping last night there was no more scratching her chewing on her skin. So far so good I've never seen my little girl rest so peacefully and be so happy this morning when she woke up. Thank you so much Carol.

I loved taking my dogs there until recently. My boy Marley has seizures and has to be on…read morephenobarbital. Which Carol knows, since she prescribed it. After 5 mon of him being on it she wants me to bring him in for his yearly blood test to check his levels for his liver, being on that medicine FOR 5 MONTHS. Fine whatever, but i told her it would have to be after the holidays, but that wasnt good enough, so she decided to not give my dog his medicine because she wanted to throw a tantrum instead. Her, her husband, and mine talk. We wind up with a weeks worth of medicine, and now in need of a new vet.. she seemed real nice at first. But im not going to take my dog somewhere that cares about money than actually saving the animals life. Surprisingly he is still alive, and doing good. And if anyone has this issue, we found something that has worked, so far (fingers crossed) , its called Neuroplex. Just a thought, and a heads up. Have a great day everyone!

Went here today because my dog developed an infected growth and my regular vet was so backed up…read morethey could not see her for two weeks. Me regular vet is great but my dog needed attention now. While we were there I also had them trim her nails which she hates, do her annual heart worm test, and give her all her shots. My dog showed absolutely no sign of being upset or traumatized by the experience. She was wagging her tail even though I knew she did not feel well. Price was reasonable and I was able to get the antibiotics she needs when she needed them. They helped me plan a routine to clear up the infection and took time to discuss what would be involved in removing the growth. It's not a fancy clinic where I would take my dog for a treatment of a complex problem but I found them to be friendly, helpful and professional. It's a bit of a drive but I plan to go back to get the growth removed and maybe for all her future basic care. I've had 5 dogs (and three cats) over the last 45 years and dealt with vet clinics in the five places I have lived so I have some idea how a vet clinic needs to function. This place felt like a solid, small rural town general practice.

Would not recommend this vet to ANYONE! The older vet tech "Lee" manhandled my 2 large breed dogs…read moreand kept saying "ive been bit too many times for this" - one being a very kind great dane and the other a vet reactive mastiff mix. Said vet tech dragged my mastiff across the floor by his collar and picked him up by his collar to put him on the table. He did not ask him to get on the table. He did not ask for me, the owner, to get him on the table. Even though my dogs are trained to get onto tables (i am a dog groomer so I trained them to get onto my table). While he was DRAGGING my dog, my dog peed all over himself and was SCREAMING the entire time. To which we have been to multiple other vets (including emergency vet) and he has never EVER acted like that. Probably because other veterinary staff know not to handle people pets that way. I am utterly disgusted with this vet and will NOT be going back. The vet tech even made jokes about how my dog was scared and needed to "admire his masterpiece" of pissing himself from fear. If you do go here, do not let that vet tech handle your pets. I only wish I could make this up.

The good stuff: Their vets are very skilled and they have empathy and compassion. Also, once you…read moreare established if your pet has an issue they get them in pretty quickly. The bad: This place charges A LOT! I have had the impression more than once that finding every opportunity to add charges during an exam is included in their staff training. Also, there is little/no transparency with charges ahead of time. I am putting it out there so people can be aware. We boarded our dogs and paid a lot extra for their "luxury run". It was supposed to have a tv that played soothing videos and be equipped with cameras that we could log into and check on them at our convenience. We were not allowed to see this in person because of "safety protocol" and the morning we checked them in we were informed that the cameras were down. We had no way of knowing if we got anything that we were charged extra for, and we were charged a lot extra. They were unapologetic about this and did not offer to reduce the bill for the services that were not provided. Over $200 for 24 hours and I have no idea if we got anything we payed extra for. Pros: skilled vets and usually can get an appointment quickly Cons: they squeeze you for every dime and you must take it on faith that you are getting what you paid for.
