He could have charged me an arm and a leg (and another leg ! ) but he knew I was in a pickle and gave me a price that was way more than fair. Then he did an amazing job clearing the lots, widening the long entrances to the building, salting and he even got out of the truck to shovel out a door that was plowed in by the previous snow storm. Not only is Corey a really great guy who really helped us out in a pickle , he is a honest dealer, and does a really really great and thorough job. We have seen their previous project at the Old Oak Dojo and really liked the idea of a functional landscape that meet aesthetic purpose, yield edibles as well as fitting in the native eco system. Noah is very knowledgeable of different plants and flowers so conversation with him has always been very educational for us amateur gardeners. He has also been very accommodating from the consultation. He listened to our needs and concerns before coming up with a customized plan that fits our property and budget. The project includes a low dry-stack retaining wall, plants that would help stabilizing the soils since we live on a hill, perennial flowers/plants that support each other and blooms at different time, and irrigation etc. The installation was under a short deadline so that we can have our wish of throwing a post-wedding party in our yard. Noah, Cheryl, and Karen moved very efficiently and accomplished the project before the deadline and within budget. The project also includes post-installation maintenance as the first year is crucial for the garden to survive. We are very happy to find Restoring Roots and will definitely consider using them for future projects.

Most larger firms were already booked for spring, and when a couple of firms came out in June, they indicated that our job was too small for them to consider. Our realtor recommended Restoring Roots. From the first visit Karen was enthusiastic about the possibilities for our little space. She listened to our concerns and needs--one of the biggest concerns being that as new home owners facing a lot of projects, we wanted to consider a design plan that we could implement in stages. Karen came back to us with a detailed and comprehensive plan for our little space. After multiple negotiations with our condo association, we decided to move ahead with the patio construction in the fall and put the planting and construction of a sitting wall on hold until Spring. The bluestone patio was completed right before Thanksgiving. We are very impressed with the quality of the work and we think the patio looks great! We hope to have Restoring Roots back in the Spring for the next phase of the project.

This South End based business first helped me with winter planting for my condo association's street side containers, and then next my own garden. Not offended by small jobs, they can also handle building a pergola, and complete redesign and planting of a yard. They've built flagstone walks and granite topped brick planters. I worked with James from Heritage Landscaping to completely renovate our front yard. Now that the…read morework has been completed, I ultimately regret my decision to go with them over other landscaping companies. I have never left a review for anything online before, but feel as though I have to after the experience I had with Heritage. This was not a small or cheap project and I feel as though I deserved a much higher level of work upon completion. Although there were certain things that were done well (pathway and sprinkler system that were contracted out to third parties), the landscaping itself left a lot to be desired. Here is a list of the issues that I experienced: 1. They did not edge any of the mulch beds. 2. The mulch they laid down was not laid evenly along the pathway. 3. When they reseeded the lawn, they planted seed on all of the mulch beds and I now have grass growing though my mulch beds. Furthermore, there are still parts of the grass that never grew. 4. They agreed to remove a small tree and they were unable to remove the stump. I now have to reach out to a tree removal company to grind it down. 5. When the irrigation company came to install the system, there was no plan to have the system water the newly planted plants along the house and pathway. The irrigation company installed a drip system anyways after I spoke up. In fairness, James and his team did cover the cost of the drip system once it was installed. The most disappointing part of my whole experience is that I texted James about some of issues that I thought could be remedied a few days ago, specifically the mulch beds and how bad it looks. However, he has not responded to me.
