I have been with Dr Marrone since 1980 and have received consistently good care. His office staff is also attentive and pleasant.

I'm letting you know right now that every review on here with more than 1 star is not a real…read morereview. This place is horrible. Long and truthful review incoming: The staff is not welcoming and warm like an eye doctor's office staff should be. If you have plans later that day, do not go to your appointment or you will miss your plans. They leave you in the waiting room for over an hour and say nothing to you until you get up and ask. Then you sit in a second waiting room where the same thing happens and the lady who sits at the desk next to the second waiting room is rude. I went in for a pterygium removal surgery. Joshi messed up my surgery causing scarring and an issue causing so much discomfort that I had to come back 3 days after my surgery for him to fix it. First off they did not even give me pain medication for recovery. They told me to go home and take tylenol and advil and no I am not embellishing. Anyways, He then had me sit in the chair to try and fix his mistake and used metal tweezers in my eye trying to grab and unfold the graft that he had messed up while I was under no medication. This caused me excruciating pain and it was like he did not care. He has ZERO bedside manner as a doctor and acts like you're a burden for having made an appointment, he is not thorough in his explanations and he rushes through everything. The surgery he did on my eye was so bad I had to go to a second doctor to fix the surgery and even that doctor said how poor a job Joshi did on my surgery. It cost $1700 for the surgery which I paid out of pocket. Then over the next two months I was sent a $505.50 bill for anesthesia, a $526.50 bill for cost of surgery, a $250.00 bill for being a new patient, and a $95.00 bill for...who even knows. If you care about your eyes, please do not let this doctor operate on you. Go see someone else and you will thank me later.

Urgent Care and my eye Dr couldn't help the first time this happened. I needed style removal surgery and I had no idea that was a thing. It was amazing to get "a system of styes" off my poor eyelid. I woke up a day after my trip to a swollen shut eye and swelling in my face they got me right in. I could not have had better care. They are so good getting me quickly. My last appointment I made for the next day from the airport! I'm looking forward to the day I get cataracts after reading a brochure in the waiting room. I feel I'll trust them with my eyes. To see 20/20 in our old age sounds amazing. I've had glasses/contacts for 45 years. I never thought that would be something to look forward to!

He looked at everything as a whole- my eyes, skin, nose issues, and how they were all connected. He was thorough, attentive, and very to the point. For the first time, I felt truly heard and understood. His approach gave me clarity and relief after 2 weeks of uncertainty. I'm incredibly grateful for his care.

I was referred to him as an emergency case by my general ophthalmologist due to my sudden visual lost/ retinal detachment. I've been going to several ophthalmologists for the past couple days but none of them was able to help:( He was the one doctor who was on call that weekend luckily(apparently Retina Vitreous Group is the most reputable and biggest retina group in LA county and there are 11 doctors total in their huge group!!) He returned my ophthalmologist's call immediately, took over my case and saw me right away in his downtown office. He did surgery and got my vision back! It is horrifying that so many eye surgeons were not able to figure out my issue until I was referred to him. I wish there were more doctors like him who genuinely cares about patients' health and EYES! Thank you again Dr. Tan!!!!

First the office is well-staffed with professionals who enjoy their work! Extremely organized and competent; better yet, great attitudes! Therefore, they serve many patients at a time, in a relaxed and methodical manner! So, your appointment moves along smoothly without delay!! Amazing, isn't it! Most importantly, Dr. Tan is an accomplished physician. I had to ask: yes, he's a USC Fellow and "teaching physician", conducting periodic professional discussion and review. His time with you is unhurried, delivering your diagnosis as if a consulting friend, realistic and practical. You get the straight scoop, no exaggeration, no magic meds, or program to fix the un-fixable. So, we get to watch my condition over time. I'm OK with that.

Waiting was kind of long, 40 mins, there were two patients ahead of me. Clean office, staff are adequately polite It took them three tries to dilate my eye, the assistant commented my eye is too stubborn, ha. Since I put down yelp as my referral to the business, both the assistant and the doctor asked me, "what's yelp?" prompting me to give each of them a brife history of yelp individually. Hey, shouldn't I get paid for this? I guess he's well-established here, cause I recognize his face from back in the days when i was working in S. Bay Hospital. No hello or any pleasantry when first seeing me, but instructing me to put my purse on the chair. He seems to be a genteel person, so maybe that's the way he operates. He checked my eye with bright beam of light, and informed me that there is no tear to my retina, but he needs to see me in three weeks. I had a few questions to ask him but he gestured me to leave. They only wrote me a prescription for glasses and said I had to come back for another appointment to get the contacts. They should have said that in the FIRST place. I would not have come to see them. VERY VERY misleading in my opinion. I do not have a schedule that allows me to come in on the days she is there. Now I will have to go somewhere else to get my contacts. I will not return. Their excuse is that sometimes they have a girl answer e phones who doesn't know all the procedures. Might want to educate your staff.
