Over, what seemed to be an eternity, actually a month or so I received outstanding treatments. My foot issue was caused from cancer treatments, although an unusual and unpredictable side/effect from cancer Dr Craig addressed my issues and even provided us with his personal cell number in case he needed to meet us on Christmas Day! Highly recommend Dr Craig Cortese, his staff and clinic. I do have some experience with physicians as I have traveled extensively for medical treatments for stage 4 cancer. I paid for orthotics out of pocket ($575) and was not given guidance as to what shoes I can wear…read morethem in. I called and talked to a nurse who did not want to help me, and did not provide any additional guidance. There may not be any shoes these 3/4 orthotics will fit in, so that must be why they could not provide guidance. They directed me to the shoe store connected with the practice, so I paid 150 for the shoes and the person at the store told me in order to make them fit, I should cut the insoles to fit the orthotics. They did this for me in the store and the still didn't fit. Big Mistake- don't let them cut your insoles even if the staff advises it. Just because they work there does not mean they are competent. I had to order new insoles for the $150 shoes at an additional cost of 55 plus shipping. They would not let me try on the orthotics in the store in the shoes before she cut the insoles. Now, almost $800 later, I still don't have shoes that work with my expensive orthotics. The orthotics would be helpful, if I had shoes to wear them in. The staff is talking behind one another's backs at the front counter, staff is unhelpful, staff has been rude. While I was there, a nurse was extremely insulting to a new nurse she was training and made her cry- I, the patient, was caught in the middle of all of the drama and high turnover that exists at Cortese. I have to take these shoes off now because my feet are going numb since the insoles don't fit.

Based upon a physical examination, he diagnosed me w/ a joint capsule injury. My treatment included a prescription for anti-inflammatory and over a dozen ultrasound therapy sessions. Midstate has a small-office feel, and the staff were very kind. I just wasn't seeing results. After 5 weeks of treatment with worsening symptoms, I visited Cortese Foot & Ankle Clinic. While both podiatrists performed a gait analysis, Cortese took x-rays and fitted me with orthotics right away. I experienced almost immediate relief from the orthotics.
