I paid for orthotics out of pocket ($575) and was not given guidance as to what shoes I can wear them in. I called and talked to a nurse who did not want to help me, and did not provide any additional guidance. There may not be any shoes these 3/4 orthotics will fit in, so that must be why they could not provide guidance. They directed me to the shoe store connected with the practice, so I paid 150 for the shoes and the person at the store told me in order to make them fit, I should cut the insoles to fit the orthotics. They did this for me in the store and the still didn't fit. Big Mistake- don't let them cut your insoles even if the staff advises it. Just because they work there does not mean they are competent. I had to order new insoles for the $150 shoes at an additional cost of 55 plus shipping. They would not let me try on the orthotics in the store in the shoes before she cut the insoles. Now, almost $800 later, I still don't have shoes that work with my expensive orthotics. The orthotics would be helpful, if I had shoes to wear them in. The staff is talking behind one another's backs at the front counter, staff is unhelpful, staff has been rude. While I was there, a nurse was extremely insulting to a new nurse she was training and made her cry- I, the patient, was caught in the middle of all of the drama and high turnover that exists at Cortese. I have to take these shoes off now because my feet are going numb since the insoles don't fit. read more

Update: Dr. Cortese worked with me to resolve the billing issue. I received the orthotic insoles in early September. It's now been about 12 weeks and my forefoot (diagnosed as bursitis) feels much better -- dare I say healed? I've discontinued taking anti-inflammatories and have ordered a second pair of orthotics (at a discounted rate) and plan to use them whenever possible. I still have to take care and wear shoes w/orthotics indoors as much as possible, but am also hopeful that I can begin exercising without pain soon! read more

We took our son there to have a wart looked at. The doctor spent 5 minutes with us, put a few drops on it and left. We were left sitting in the room, apparently finished, until we wandered out and asked someone if we were done. He promised to get us bandages to place on it, which we were never given. Not only were we charged $50 office visit, we received a bill for $225. He had wanted us to come back every 2 weeks to have it looked at. When I received the bill and called his office, I was told we would be charged $225 + $50 office visit each time, all to have a wart removed. We have cancelled future appointments and will not be returning. read more

The staff has always been cordial to me and my wife. Dr. Cortese is very knowledgeable and is more than willing to share that knowledge with us in order to help us understand the conditions that we are facing. I have arthritis in both ankles along with heel spurs. I serve at a local restaurant and having these conditions makes it very painful. With the use of specific shoes recommended by soul savers the shoe store attached and therapeutic exercises recommended by Dr. Craig, I am able to enjoy my job and not be incapacitated every morning from the pain and swelling. I broke my foot recently and had to have a custom insert made after going to dicks, shoe carnival, and two other smaller stores and not finding a shoe that worked someone recommended I go to Sole Savers in the Cortese Clinic. I spoke to Mary (I believe that was her name) and she was one of the most amazing people I'd ever met. Not only was she incredibly patient and kind to my niece (who was being a terror that day) she helped me choose shoes that worked and went above and beyond just selling me shoes. She actually cared about my situation and worked very hard to find me something that was right for me. Hands down the best customer service that I've ever received. It is a small store but they have a lot of cute shoes and as impressed as I was with Mary I don't think I'll ever buy shoes anywhere else. read more

Dr. V. Marrochello and the nurses I saw were great but the office staff, billing, accounting quite inefficient. I put down a $100 when visiting. My insurance paid in full (well actually I did as it all came out of my HSA) in less than 3 weeks. Four phones and 3 months later still waiting for my deposit back.
