The Mass schedule on Sunday is 7 am, 9am, and 11 am. Fr. Carmelo Guiffre is great and so are the Xaverian Fathers who help out with both Sunday and daily Masses. Another great thing about this church is that there is a daily Mass everyday at 7 am, 8:30 am on Wednesday when school is in session.

Her reading and math skills have progressed at such a fast pace. My daughter is in Kindergarten, but is reading at a mid 1st grade level, and similarly with Math. Kumon is definitely repetitive and there is daily homework, but the idea is that it become a daily habit. We treat it as such, just like you would going to the gym. We have absolutely seen the reward! The staff at this center is amazing. Yogita, the Director, truly cares for the kids. She is available for a phone call whenever I have a question or concern, and she is very responsive via email. They provide in person classes and also classes via zoom. They are very conscious about COVID precautions. All in all, I am so glad I met Yogita and her staff and am so thankful for their support in teaching and challenging my daughter to be the best that she can, while still making it fun!

In only 4 months, we are already seeing her make huge gains! I love the phonetic approach to reading as well as focus on math facts that build as proficiency is gained. My daughter is reading books now (I.e. Amelia Bedelia and Rabbit and Bear) and confidently adding up to 5s. It is awesome watching her grow as she tries to read signs while we travel about as well as calculate how much she needs/would have left when shopping. My daughter loves going to this center to work with the teachers. I have had nothing but good experiences with Yogita Mohan from pre-enrollment and as we continue to support my daughter's learning. Kumon has definitely helped her grow skills and confidence academically. I highly recommend this center for anyone looking to increase their child's academic skills in both reading and math!

I have been coming to the Urban Ecology Center Menomonee Valley for years now and it's about time I…read morewrote a review! The UEC is an absolutely wonderful organization that is doing amazing work in the city of Milwaukee. Their passion for nature and protecting our city's natural beauty is amazing. But their programming is really where it's at! As a teacher, I can speak firsthand about the incredible job that the UEC is doing to teach young people to love their environment. The UEC has programming for all ages and their staff does a great job ensuring that the activities are age appropriate and tons of fun. They take groups on hikes, explore the river, learn about Wisconsin habitats, and much more. At the Menomonee Valley location, they have an animal room that guests can visit that includes snakes, turtles, and salamanders. They also have tons of outdoor equipment that you can rent, such as snow shoes, canoes, and even wearable gear like boots and gloves. They make outdoor adventure easy and accessible. My students especially love the secret slide they have inside the center. Always so fun! I can't say enough good things about my experiences with the UEC. If you work with kids, I highly recommend looking into a partnership. They even have their own buses that can come pick up your students! We are so fortunate to have the UEC here in Milwaukee and I highly recommend it to everyone!

When he was 2, however, everything went sour. His particular flavor of AuDHD became more and more apparent, and it became increasingly clear that Glendale Heights possibly couldn't meet his needs anymore. Which is reasonable! So, after a number of days of bypassing their own "three strikes" policies and forcing us to pick him up early after a single minor incident (still charging us the full rate, mind you), they unceremoniously kicked him out without warning us that we were anywhere close to that possibly happening. Which, ok, I get from their perspective and communication could have been better - BUT. The reason this is a 1-star review and I won't recommend Glendale Heights to any other parents? Is because, for that last week that he was allowed to attend, it seems that he was told that he was being kicked out and it was _his_ fault, and not Glendale Heights' inability to accommodate his needs. For weeks, we had a 2-year-old constantly melting down every time he realized he did something wrong and _physically beating himself up_ for it. Who blames a 2-year-old like that? Who tells a 2-year-old they're a bad kid? We will forever regret sending our child to Glendale Heights.

Our vision is a day when every adult with IDD has accessible, meaningful opportunities for education, employment skill development, social activities, and can live independently in the home of their choice." As I entered the building, I was in a bright and welcoming foyer, which set the tone for the entire location. Every staff member was beyond friendly, and there is obviously great pride in their work. Educational areas are superbly well-appointed, organized, and calm. While state-of-the-art technology was evident everywhere, there is also a very personal and hands-on strategy in each classroom. Very detailed activity schedules are posted clearly, and I could not think of anything that could be missing. I met some of the students and saw happy and well cared for individuals. The future will include residential living next to this academy. I can see this becoming a huge benefit for so many IDD adults and their families. But, I am also very impressed that decisions and plans are made with no rush, but with true intention. And I feel all decisions are made with every member at the forefront of these choices. Simply put, this is a wonderful asset to the area and those who need specialized education. I am so impressed and will continue to follow the progress of Journey21 as they expand and grow.

Like previous reviews have said going here gives you connections within the City of Milwaukee, which unlike other universities in Wisconsin places you a prime job market. There's a large alumni network in the city. A Very good school for commuters, not so much for people living on campus. Speaking of which, the U lines go straight to UWM and make commuting easier, but parking is still horrible. Specifically for my program, I had some of the leading experts in my field teaching at the Helen Bader School of Social Welfare, many of which ranged from experience in the job market to academia. I definitely had some memorable professors. The union cafeteria sucks, but downstairs you can go to the gasthaus and purchase beer and pub food. Also we have a division one basketball team.

Each week they offer 2 DIY projects where they supply all materials and leave step by step directions. They also have specialty projects on most Thursday's that are a little more in depth like build your own planner or paint your own mug. Once a semester they also have open sessions for things like ceramics so you can learn to do it on your own. The staff is so friendly and help with everything. They make examples of each project to help you follow along. There are also paid sessions and classes for screen printing, paper making, ceramics, and other textile processes that anyone can sign up for. They really represent every area of artistry for you to explore. I can't wait to do all the DIY projects this semester and learn something new.
