I had a chance to stay here on a short "vacation" last year. While the beds were not very comfortable and the toilet was missing a seat, the ambiance more than made up for those paltry quibbles!
The "restaurant" is really one of a kind. I was very pleased with the food, and would recommend you try the Nutraloaf. It was really well seasoned and they give generous portions! I really appreciated the community style seating, as well. Every time you come down to eat in the morning, you get to meet a new person, which is great considering people are always buried in their iPhone's these days. You don't have to worry about that here, though, becuause you surrender your phone at the "front desk" on arrival.
All in all, I would give this place a 4/5, subtracting one star because for some reason they lock you in your rooms at night, which can be a pain if you're looking to take in dinner and a movie or experience Marquette's eclectic art scene. read more
