I brought in my Iphone XR that had water damage,hoping it could be repaired. I honestly was skeptical that it could be fixed. Apple charges a bogus flat fee that is more than a new phone-$399. I dropped it off to Marquess and within a few days,he fixed it. Saved me at least $300. His prices were more than reasonable and the service top-notch. I went to Marquess IT because I had a cracked screen on my Samsung Galaxy. They took me right in and my wait was not long at all. When I came back for my phone I was told there was a problem and the screen they put on my phone was not adhered properly. You could visually look at the phone and see it was not adhered properly and it also reduced my screen size. Kevin said it would stay on and that I could leave it this way or come back at a later date and they would put another screen on for $60. I told him I want a new screen put on and I shouldn't have to pay $60 for another screen as the advertised price was $99.99. When speaking to Kevin, he was having a hard time communicating his thoughts and it came out as sounding abrupt. He turned to his co worker who was extremely nice to have him explain the situation. I don't think Kevin was being rude (he may just have social anxiety) I just feel he could work on his customer relation skills a bit more. After telling them I want a new screen and I don't think I should pay $60 they agreed and said they would order the new screen and to come back next week. I again dropped my phone off hoping for the best. I was pleasantly surprised when I picked up my phone and it was perfectly restored! They went out of their way to turn the situation around and were very polite. I waited a couple weeks to write review just to make sure my phone didn't glitch etc. It's been working fine and I'm happy to have it back. I also want to mention a lot of Samsung Galaxy phones are extremely hard to repair and screen repairs are especially difficult and requires a special level of expertise. It rates a 3 on the smart phone repairability scores. So I would recommend them because they did rectify the situation and followed through with what they promised. read more

** update**. After my very unpleasant conversation with Kevin this morning, I drove to the Columbia Mall and met with a technician from a company called Cyberion. The tech immediately recognized the poor job done by Kevin. He pointed out the screen wasn't even attached at the bottom and wasn't aligned properly making it difficult to work lending itself to cracking. When I returned to pick up my phone the tech showed me pictures of the inside of my phone and parts that were left damaged. He agreed 100% that the cracking of my screen was due to Kevin's careless work. Kevin's defensive attitude this morning now makes complete sense. If you are in need of a screen replacement, do not see this angry man in OC. ------------- Was down in OC last week and on Sunday night I dropped my phone and shattered the screen pretty badly. I needed a repair clearly. My son researched repair places with the best review. This lead us to Kevin early Monday morning. The drive was out of our way but given the reviews, I felt it was worth it. Kevin, the owner greeted us, looked at the phone and said it would be ready in 15 minutes. We never discussed price but it didn't matter. I needed my phone repaired. When I returned, I was thrilled that it was fixed. I paid my $150 and away I went back to vacation and my family. Monday - Thursday I was attempting to press buttons on the phone at times and the phone/ screen didn't seem be responding to each other. I assumed the screen just needed to settle a bit and didn't think it was a big deal. We left OC on Thursday morning and my phone never left my sight and stayed in a protective case. Speed up to this morning, now Saturday, I pick up my phone and attempted to remove what I thought was hair. Nope! It was a very fine crack from one corner of the phone all the way to the other corner. I immediately assumed it had been from the repair being done so quickly and my pressing so hard on the buttons all week. At 9am I called Kevin. From the beginning he was abrasive and combative. I was able to share a few sentences with him, with his interruptions, but I was never able to get my full point across. he basically never listened to me but concluded immediately it was my fault and he didn't believe me as he stated with "100%" certainty - his words. I told him I detected a lot of sarcasm and attitude and it was unnecessary. He came back at me with his thoughts on my behavior. He asked if he could call me back in 15. Surprisingly he did. The second conversation was moving along just fine until I questioned his work and the possibility of it being his install that could have been the issue. I also questioned the lifetime guarantee he mentioned during the call and thought that would be how we could resolve this issue. That clearly didn't go over well and we argued back and forth for quite some time. He told me twice he was a direct and forceful personality. He should be an attorney and not in IT. Bottom line, I am choosing to walk away from this situation because i have no choice. I am appalled by his lack of compassion, lack of customer service, aggression, but most of all his need to win an agreement. He won! He got my $150. read more

Coming to this shop was the biggest mistake. When I first called and inquired about having my phone repaired, I was told it would take 15 minutes. When I entered the shop, I showed the owner my phone and we both agreed he should replace the front and back screen. I was told that since he would be replacing both, the service would take 45 minutes. Completely understandable. I left the shop and came back approximately 1.25 hours later and was rudely told that "something came up" and my phone still was not ready. 30 minutes after that I went back in to check on the progress of my phone and was told "it would be better if you wait outside, and I will come to you when I'm done." At this point the frustration is setting in. We went from a 45 minutes fix to a heading on 2 hour fix. I had a meeting to get to and could not spend my entire day waiting on the phone. About 2.5 hours later, I went into the shop and the owner threw the phone down on the table and says "You can take it now, since you are in such a hurry." I asked if the phone was repaired and was told it was. I get 5 minutes down the road, and the phone screen turns black and wont respond. I take it back to the shop, and after another 45 minutes the phone is "fixed" again. I left town and started realizing that the phone speaker and the audio speaker are reversed, and now 2 weeks later, the phone screen is literally peeling off and the phone is coming apart. I called and the owner suggested I bring the phone back in or ship it to him! This is a phone I use for business, and I cannot just drive 3.5 hours or send you my phone and go purchase another one for the mean time. This mans attitude and demeanor is downright rude. I came in for a 45 minute repair and left almost 4 hours later, with a broken phone. I am now in the process of disputing these charges, and will do whatever I have to, to be compensated. read more
