Dear AFC Urgent Care,…read more On July 8, 2026, at 7:15 pm, I scheduled an appointment with Urgent Care for my husband, who had been ill for approximately one week with flu symptoms, including cough, congestion, headache, body aches, and episodes of sweating. The nurse or medical assistant--I'm not sure of his title since he didn't inform us--took my husband's vital signs without wearing a mask and was seen coughing into his hand. Additionally, he did not wash his hands before or after taking my husband's vital signs. My husband's vital signs were normal. The Nurse Practitioner (NP) examined my husband's ears, throat, and chest. She acknowledged his reported symptoms but did not report any concerns after completing her physical assessment and interview. She did not order or perform a nasal swab, draw blood, collect a urine sample, or conduct a chest X-ray. Instead, she performed an EKG, which was reported as normal. Unfortunately, my husband did not receive a diagnosis or prescription. He was advised to go to the emergency room for blood work and a chest X-ray. We believe that the care he received was inadequate and that the EKG was unnecessary. I had informed the NP that my husband had recently undergone a full workup with a cardiologist, which revealed no concerns. Additionally, my husband informed the NP that he had not and was not experiencing any chest pain.

He is such a great doctor - super nice and very thorough with the few concerns I did have. Because of him my physicals are quick and easy, which is very alleviating when I see doctors as a patient! I've also gone here once on a non-physical appointment. On that appointment I saw Dr. Tran. He addressed my concerns to my satisfaction and his prescriptions helped me get a lot better. The support staff from the check-in desk to the RNs and even the lab staff are super friendly. Whenever I go here they ensure that my visit is hassle-free. I also have good medical insurance so no surprise bills to come out of here. PS: My only concern is that Scripps doesn't have an urgent care location south of the 52. I know that as of my last visit they were promoting HealthExpress so at least there's an option there but it just sucks that I would have to drive the equivalent distance of going to work just to be seen.

The nurse's assistants that take vitals are good. The doctors/PAs/NPs could be better. I don't feel listened to during most visits. One doctor had to tell me to get a mammogram before she could order a prescription (seems unethical). She kept insisting I retake a lab test but didn't realize this was already done, but I still kept getting repeat letters from Scripps. My most recent visit just put me over the top. I saw a PA there for an annual physical and he went above and beyond in making the visit difficult. The previous medical staff had no issues in providing an annual referral. This time, the referral was denied due to the way the PA submitting the referral to insurance, deliberately making it impossible for insurance to approve the claim. This was verified by my insurance company. This last visit did more harm (caused unnecessary stress) than help. As mentioned, I've been coming here for years but never know what to expect after each visit. Having been disappointed after each visit lately due to medical team not truly listening to my concerns or respecting my holistic wishes, I will be seeking a PCM elsewhere.

She checked me in efficiently, and Martin did a battery of thorough peripheral and eyesight exams. Then I saw Dr. Sundaram who was even more thorough and had me take more tests/scans including optic nerve and cornea. She walked me through the results and went over my MRI with me, explaining what they indicated and next steps. She was factual and matter of fact, but also calmed my nerves a bit. The only reason this is a 4 star review and not 5 stars is because I had two appointments (field eye test then the consult), an hour apart. The second time I was 20 minutes early, checked in online then went to the front desk. The girl who helped me had no idea how to check me in and when I told her what Jackie did to check me in, she still looked lost and went and asked for help. Long story short, it somehow took 25 minutes for this to happen so instead of being early I ended up getting seen late. Dr. Sundaram was great and very thorough, and I would recommend her.

Everything was clearly labeled and easy to find. Plenty of seating. I had an appointment with Sports Medicine and had to get x-rays. Both counters, the staff were really nice, friendly and helpful. As usual, my experience with Dr. Alana and Miguel is always great. I feel like my concerns are always discussed and plan of action is set.

She just commented on my weight in rude ways when I mentioned other doctors told me I was fine and it wasn't lots of weight gain. She Shamed the other nurses and doctors. She didn't even take the time to listen to the heartbeat until my boyfriend had her recheck. 30 seconds at max the first time then actually found it after us mentioning that she didn't find it. LIED straight to our faces. I will never be seen by her again I'm not even sure why she works there considering I heard multiple complaints about her just today in th office from other patients. The only reason I will come back is because we APPRECIATE the case manager Irene she's been nothing but good experiences for us as well as the other nurses. Laura Boston deserves to be fired from this company let alone should not be practicing medicine of any sorts. I'd love to make a formal complaint against her so she's gone.
