I told her I wanted some white roses and carnations; she said she had no white roses at the moment, but that some beautiful orange roses had just come in. Beautiful they were! I asked her to use her judgement and put together an arrangement based on those orange roses. The result was beautiful: Sam's sense of colour and design was impeccable. More importantly, she paid as much attention to the little details (like paper and ribbon colours) as to the flowers themselves. I would definitely recommend Petals N Blooms, and would certainly go back again.

My friend sent me a photo of the arrangement when it was delivered. I couldn't believe my eyes! it wasn't nearly as nice or as full as the $45 arrangement. I complained but got a nonsensical response: you really can't tell from that photo, we used nicer flowers and more filler, yada yada... They probably think you'll never know what they sent and that was true in the past. But today with camera phones it's easy to get a photo of the arrangement and know exactly what was sent. Sad to think some businesses will rip off their customers like this. I do not recommend this florist.

When a business cuts corners to increase margins......it becomes expensive. I have purchased two…read moreplanter boxes from Wild about Flowers and was very happy. My recent purchase, was a similar planter box as the previous ones; however, within two days the moisture leaked through the bottom of the box and left a moisture stain on my dining room table. I was surprised the moisture had leaked though the bottom of the box? I then discovered, that the lining in this new box was basically wax paper, the previous boxes were lined with a heavy plastic liner. I called the store and left a message about my experience, with no reply. I then sent a text message after which I received an email from the owner/manager that this was not their problem, not even a discussion about it. I guess the owners focus is now on increased margins, and less so on customer satisfaction. Next time I pickup an arrangement, it will be elsewhere.

What a cute store!!!…read more Thanks to Yelp, I'm exploring businesses I wouldn't normally get the chance to explore, and this having been said, I stumbled into Twigs just yesterday! It's a very eye catching store because there are huge windows in the front that look right into the store. The store is one of the most seasonal stores I've ever seen - what I mean is that during Halloween, it's ALL Halloween. And now, it's ALL Christmas! When you walk in, you're overwhelmed with things, things, everywhere! You almost don't know where to look first! What a lot of people don't know is that while Twigs carries all this stuff, they are also a floral shop! They have flowers for every occasion! Gifts, Decorations, Flowers, OH MY! It's definitely a one stop shop if you're on your way to someone's house for dinner and want to take along something beautiful and thoughtful. The next time I'm heading out for a soiree, I'll definitely make a pit stop at Twigs and ensure I pick up the perfect gift for the host of the evening.

She was working on an arrangement but saw me peering at her. She asked if I needed help and I told her a wanted a gerbra bouquet. I also picked up a sunny sunflower, which was nicely packaged for me with a piece of greens. I was worried that Twigs would be too expensive for me, but nope, I received a beautiful bouquet of flowers within my budget. I will come back again and perhaps hint to my husband that Twigs makes some awesome bouquets.

I love it when a plan comes together!…read more My girlfriend was coming in to Calgary for business and I wanted to give her a little surprise. It had been a long trip for her, she was in the final leg of it and I knew she was getting worn down. Knowing her hotel and talking with the front desk I felt a little floral arrangement would perk her spirits up a little, they gave me all the information I needed, except one thing. Where do I get the flowers from!? I partook of Yelp, Canadian style of course, and spied the barren reviews. Until I saw Carrie P's talk of " "funkiest" floral arrangements". The thing is, all these other flower shops web sites, were... well bland. Boring. Cookie cutter. Nothing brought my attention and made me want to say, "Yes! Yes! I want to go here!" Well... guess what? Purple Orchid's website blew me away. So unique, so different, so perfect. I knew I had found the one. I called up the store the day before my girlfriend was to arrive at the hotel, hoping they could do something. The woman couldn't have been nicer. Trying to get an idea of exactly what I wanted: colors, flowers, any specifics I wanted and she could think of, I was excited, but what would the recipient think of them? I eagerly awaited a phone call the next day, a text, email... anything! At one point I just needed a nap. I curled up and when I woke up forty minutes later, I had my answer. A very happy and surprised voice on my voicemail confirmed my suspicion. Purple Orchid had sent a very unique, very lovely and happy inspiring bouquet and made two people very happy. The sad thing is Purple Orchid isn't here in Chicago, however that is a great thing for anyone looking for some great arrangements in Calgary.

I inquired late in the day on Monday to find out if the flowers would be delivered to the second sister and I was told that they didn't receive the order despite the fact that I had two screenshots confirming each individual order with each of their names. I'm not sure what happened here but not once did I receive an apology for the error. The flowers were, however, delivered to the second sister the following day. Both sent me photos of the bouquets that were delivered, and although the second delivery looked better than the first, neither looked nearly as nice as what was pictured on the website.
