Fresh flowers, meats, cheeses, baked goods and fresh baked breads, and of course beer and wine bars. There's something here for everyone and it's always fun checking out all the different booths. I walked over every morning for fresh Cappuccino at Leo's Kaffee and would pick up a pastry at one of the bakeries. In the afternoon, I would stop by the pickle guy and buy a few of the best pickles I've ever eaten. So many choices from sweet to sour, spicy and my favorite a super sour with a spicy horseradish. The long line moves quickly and if you like pickles, you must stop here.

Unfortunately, I visited during the holidays, so some stalls weren't open. One shop in particular really caught my attention--it specialized in mustard (Senf) and offered so many varieties I had never seen or even heard of before. I was excited to try everything. Prices ranged from €2 to €7 per bottle, and while I was tempted to buy several, my luggage limitations held me back. In the end, I chose two: black truffle mustard and matcha mustard. Can't wait to try them once I'm back home.

Spring through autumn you'll find an orgy of locally-grown seasonal fruits and vegetables; in the winter not much grows in Germany besides cabbage and squash, but the selection is still pretty good (supplemented by items grown slightly farther away). Additional vendors sell fish, meats, cheeses, breads, and (quite reasonably-priced) organic wine.

This is the best food truck type farmers market that I have ever had the pleasure of visiting…read more Every food area was super clean and the items for sale looked fresh, colorful and amazing. The venders were all pleasant and accommodating. I saw fresh breads, bakery items, sausages, meats, cheese, fruit, flowers and more. I wanted to purchase many items but we are not allowed to bring them back home with us. It would make going through customs a bad experience and possibly cost you a fine. So if you are visiting I suggest that you get what you can together for a nice picnic at one of the beautiful parks and enjoy. Or tote around some fresh snacks while visiting the lovely landmarks.

There's decent pasta, thai food, roast chicken (of course) and excellent crepes. The lines for the best food stands are formidable between 12 & 2 pm, so sneaking over in the late morning or afternoon is advisable. I have yet to buy any flowers, produce or specialty items at the market, so I'll have to report back. Absolutely worth a visit if you work in the area!
