I had always bought cheaper shoes when they go on sale at the departments stores. I had a little…read morebit of birthday money and a broken shoe that hadn't lasted long, so I decided to give the higher end shoes a chance and see if they made a difference. Jury is still out on the shoes (although early reviews are positive), but I found the store service really good. I wasn't sure what I wanted to buy, the salesman who also happens to be the owner was great at educating me on the product and how to care for them using items around the house instead of trying to up-sell me.

I have…read morebought there 3 times First time was a suit and a pair of pants, after one week all of the stitching inside the waiste band came out and the owner offered to fix them for a $25 or $30 fee great deal considering i spent $250 on the pants to begin with and they fell apart in a week. Then the stitching under the arm of the suit came out and the sleeve started to fall off, again not willing to fix for free as he said it was my fault. Now it was only a $700 suite but please what a joke. Then mt wife bought me a pair of pants from there and went to return them 7 weeks later as they were a gift and he said i couldn't as he no longer caries that line so sorry. So I have a pair of $270 pants that are too small and I can't wear. So i have spent over $1200 in this store and have nothing to show for it other then some rags and a bad taste in my mouth...........avoid this place at all costs!

She does not build young staff for success in their future and treats them like they cannot be trusted. She is easily threatened by people with talent and will treat you like crap because of it. This sucks because this is a canadian company and I would love to spend my money there, but after the work experience and terrible staff treatment I witnessed I will never spend a cent at a boathouse store ever again. When we moved to Alberta,from British Columbia, we shopped for a few items like jackets, shoes and…read moreslippers. The problem occurred when my husband's slippers started to come apart. The slippers were expensive, over a hundred dollars, they should have lasted longer than a year. We took the slippers back to see if they know where to repair or send them to the company for repair but the store owner only said , while he sat behind the counter, and didn't seem to care much about the situation. He did he would give a discount on another. We purchased the second pair of slippers but the discount was $30.00 and the slippers were still too much. We left the old slippers behind ,not thinking they would throw them away but send them back showing the quality of the slipper. My husband wouldn't wear the new slipper and we went back the next day to return the slippers and see if they had the old pair still. The clerk threw away the old slippers and we returned the new ones and said " we spent a lot of money in this store and the attitude is poor". All the store owner did was stand there as if we didn't matter. I found out that the company that makes the slippers would have repaired the slippers. Never ever will I go back to Tom's boot and clothing.
