The staff do seem friendly and try their best, I have memories of coming here for a cancelled free-from event, and the staff still put together a goody bag for me to make up for the event being cancelled, so they do try to put things right when they can. The food selection is pretty good, including a great selection of excellent quality sausages, some of which I couldn't find in other Marks and Spencer locations, they also have a comfortable cafe. 4* - Pretty good Marks and Spencer location, would be great to see an increased number of fresh counters in comparison to their Manchester - Market Street store.

The store has good facilities you'd expect to find in most Marks and Spencer locations including an M&S Cafe, Food Hall and toilet facilities. I did find the Food Hall to be a reduced selection compared to what you'd usually find in Marks and Spencer, it seems to offer a taster of the brand, more than anything else. For example, they may sell many products such as meat, dairy and fruit juices, but the choices within these sections seem to be much fewer than in other stores. I couldn't find the specific type of sausages and milk that I wanted... but there were similar alternatives Many items seemed to have a much shorter shelf life than I would have liked/expected too, I noticed the use-by date on many products to be 2-3 days, and that in a different store would be considerably longer. I understand they are restricted by Sunday trading hours, but it is a shame they are one of the first stores in town to close on a Sunday, I would much prefer their opening hours to be from 11 am to 5 pm, compared to their current 10:30 am to 4:30 pm, as the extra half hour in the afternoon makes all the difference to me. The opening hours Monday to Saturday, are much more reasonable between 8 am and 7 pm. 3* - A nice modern store, a decent size, and a great brand to have in the town, but not the best Marks and Spencer by all means, with some issues.

This Debenhams store is located in Oldham town centre, on the lower floor of Spindells mall, one thing I've noticed is that for a Debenhams store it is a little small, which can be expected for a degree in comparison to the stores in larger cities such as Manchester and Liverpool, who have much better stores. The store throughout doesn't seem modern at all, it is quite old-fashioned, and reminds me of an old department store, considering this is located in a shopping mall which was built in the 80's/90's, it still feels like the unit hasn't changed too much in that time. The staff seemed friendly enough and the location does have a small cafe. 2* - A nice brand to have in Oldham, despite being old-fashioned it isn't terrible and I do feel it would be a huge disadvantage to the town, without this store.

I live in the US now and Debenhams reminds me of a mini Macy's. As a petite lady, I love that they have petite sections, especially their own Collection brand and the Dorothy Perkins brand. British fashions are way more appealing to me than their US counterparts. Typical department store set up with men's, women's, children, home, fragrances, shoes, accessories and the like. I like the cafe too. Debenhams was my first job out of high school (a couple decades ago) so some sentimental nostalgia and happiness that it is still here! :) If you need something quick for self, home or gift, Debenhams offers nice and good quality merchandise, just limited selection compared to some of stores in bigger cities.

The village has a delightful market in the centre where one can buy dressed crab, cooked whole lobster and my absolute total, complete favourite, in all the world, potted brown shrimps, sealed in butter. Forget caviar and lobster this, with good buttered toast, is the true food of the gods. Ambrosia. There are flower sellers, cake sellers, sellers of LP's from the 1960's, cheese sellers offering small batch local cheeses, folks with woodfired ovens for sourdough pizzas, beer and wine sellers, upmarket hand made chocolates, oriental and Jamaican food (I don't think I could face goat curry) and a fish & chip shop. I'm sure I've left out a lot of purveyors in this snapshot. It's also teeming with competitively priced coffee places, cafes and bars and as the competition is so fierce there's no downmarket offerings.

It has improved a lot since my last visit, the store is now much cleaner and free of clutter to warrant an upgraded rating. The selection in the food hall was good, they had a nice range of products, again this might be slightly less compared to other stores, but I still was able to find the majority of what I needed which was handy. This store is also using the new Mobile Scan and Pay, where you can scan items and bag them as you shop in the Food Hall, pay via your phone and walk out, this is a feature I love but it always makes me feel strange as you just walk out of the store, it makes you feel like a thief, even though you have paid, you do get a payment proof on your phone incase someone does stop you, but I am worried about the security of this if someone is dishonest. Most of the staff seemed friendly and happy to help when required. Above-average Marks and Spencer store, a great brand to have in Altrincham if you don't feel like going into the city centre or another larger store.

Lifts are notable as they seem to be quicker and have fewer people queuing at peak-times compared to the main lifts within intu Trafford Centre. Staff seemed friendly enough. A pretty decent store, but only made better through being one of two stores within the mall, and even then it falls short compared to their larger flagship store nearby. 3*

The shop itself is also busy too. The staff were working as hard and fast as they could to get the drinks and food out but struggling slightly with the sheer volume of customers. The store was cluttered with "Black Weekend" stickers and most of the offers weren't worth shouting about in all honesty. Inside the store, it just felt average and perhaps a little like the old BHS store in Manchester before it shut down after the company went into administration. The toilets were average, and so were most things, it just didn't stand out as well. There was an issue with the lifts which were very slow, and the signal in store even with Free wi-fi remained poor. Overall, this is a decent store but it lacks on so many levels to the point I sadly think even two stars is slightly generous.

I think the staff are lovely in here specially around the make up area as they are very helpful. I went to the make up section in debenhams a few months ago and i wasn't sure what to buy or what suited me so the lady tried all these different products on me and after almost an hour we finally found which brand and product was for me. That lady definatly went the extra mile for me. I think the staff on the underwear section are a little bit stuck up. I once asked if i could try on a bra and they looked at me as if i had said something very offensive! The toys are great in this and as for the clothes there is definatly something for everybody here whatever your age or size. Overall a really good store that i use very often.

It cost me £15 for a chicken Tagine, chocolate lolly, a tea, flat white and a Diet Coke - now I think that's value for money! And the Tagine was absolutely delicious! I would definitely eat there again whilst shopping in Marks and Spencer. I go there regularly for my weekly shop, so it's nice to know I can trust that the food & drink is up to scratch, in case I need to stop for a bite once again!

This branch of Marks and Spencer is quite a big store located in Handsforth Dean, and is in a big…read moreretail complex with quite a large Tesco store. This store can be a nightmare to get to, as it is situated on a large number of roundabout, coming from Manchester for a conference here, they must of been a good 5 roundabouts along the Handforth Bypass, but other than that it is easy to get to, get the motorway towards Birmingham (M60) and just follow the A34, hence coming off the motorway at J3. The car park is quite big as well, with the regular Tesco car park and just one for the standard retail park. This is quite a big store, with a good sized food and clothing section, it can be actually quite hard to find everything in away, especially due to the lack of organization with certain people sending me the wrong way, left right and centre, even the co-ordinator for the event, and I actually had to phone the store to get someone to assist me as they was no staff about - which is totally unacceptable. The event co-ordinatior works for Marks and Spencer, and did make false promises and taken her time to do everything. They is 2 cafes in this store, and they are quite nice cafes, they is one big one, where the event tasted place, and it even has trackers on the tables so the server knows where you are. The cafe isn't great, although some of the staff were good, running around to get me a gluten free sandwich, to the shop floor and the other cafe. The cafe still wasn't great as my iced tea was quite expensive costing about £2.50, and it did taste home made but absolutely awful, and very watery. The store has a good sized free from range, compared to other stores, for example the branch at Bury, where it is a struggle to even grab a sandwich, however they are far too expensive, and as the event co-ordinator is a coeliac, she should do something about it, she even admitted to me in private she knows the range is expensive, but I know she told a few white lies in the presentation. Overall, this isn't the greatest Marks and Spencer's store, even though it is huge, considering issues with the lack of knowledge from staff and staff in general, pricing, lack of organization and simply being a nightmare to get to, roundabout after roundabout, as it is located off a slip road from one, they are unavoidable really and this makes the store, one to not visit rather than to go through all the kerfuffles of the many, confusing roundabouts to visits.
