I'm posting this review for my mother who doesn't know how to do this…read more She had received quotes from other companies and everything just felt wrong like the technicians would talk down to her or just say it's $9k take it or leave it. But not climate experts they explained the insulation work they would do, showed her the leaks she had and proposed a solution that not only reused what insulation she had but also added top quality additional insulation to bring her to what she needed. I am writing to formally address a dispute regarding the water heater installation services…read moreprovided by Climate Experts. Below is a detailed account of the situation, including the timeline, agreements, and subsequent issues: Timeline and Agreements Initial Quote and Agreement: On 5 February 2025, Climate Experts provided a quote for installing a customer-supplied water heater. The quote explicitly stated: "The replacement water heater can be installed either in the attic space where the existing one currently is (provided it fits in the attic access), or it can be installed in the garage. Either location, pricing valid for either.", "*Installation includes all required wiring & water lines." Pictures and requested information were provided by my realtor to assist in preparing the quote. Additional detailed pictures of the house layout were available online via the property listing. I signed the quote on 7 February 2025 and paid $2,150 on 9 February 2025. Tech Visit and Refusal to Install: The technician arrived at the property and stated that the supplied water heater could not be installed in the attic due to its hybrid nature, weight concerns, and potential condensation issues. I requested that the water heater be installed in the garage, as explicitly stated in the signed quote. Climate Experts refused, claiming the situation was not as expected and that installation in the garage would cost more than the quoted and paid amount. Forced Purchase of Additional Water Heater: Due to time constraints related to the sale of the house, Climate Experts leveraged the urgency of the situation, leaving me with no choice but to purchase the recommended water heater for installation in the attic. The new water heater was installed with an invoice dated 17 February 2025 and signed 13 February 2025. Issues and Concerns Failure to Honor Signed Quote: The signed quote explicitly stated that the water heater could be installed in the garage. Climate Experts refused to honor this agreement, citing additional costs and unforeseen circumstances despite having sufficient information (pictures, listing details, etc.) to prepare the quote. Lack of Due Diligence: Climate Experts did not send a technician to inspect the property prior to providing the quote, despite my realtor offering flexibility to accommodate a visit. This oversight led to inaccurate assumptions and subsequent issues. Leverage of Time Constraints: Climate Experts leveraged the urgency of the situation, forcing me to purchase an additional water heater to meet the inspection requirements for selling the house. Financial Impact: I incurred additional costs due to Climate Experts' refusal to honor the original agreement and their lack of due diligence.

My furnace stopped working and Michael Smith came out to trouble shoot and repair my furnace…read more Michael discovered that my pressure valve had failed and needed to be replaced at the cost of $650. Michael said it was unusual for a 5 year old pressure valve to fail, but sometimes part wear out sooner than average. When the new pressure valve arrived Michael installed it, but the furnace would still stay lit. Michael then started an extensive trouble shooting procedures to find the root cause of the what caused the original pressure valve to fail early and what was keeping the new valve from functioning properly. Michael finally found the heater exhaust pipe was clogged up by an old hornet's next in the pipe. Michael then went way above and beyond his normal duties and cleared out the hornet's nest which was quite difficult to do. Clearing out the nest took a lot more time and work then what was required for just installing the new pressure valve. Finally Michael was successful in installing the new pressure valve after cleaning out the furnace exhaust pipe. Thanks to Michael my house is warm again. I can highly recommend Michael for any heating and/or cooling repair and maintenance services. Michael is definitely a 5 star technician.

I heard a lot of good things about Jim Rott HVAC but have not personally used them. This review is…read morein reference to a quote that I received from them. I requested a quote for a mini split for our master bedroom to save money at night. Our home is two-story and the master bedroom is the only occupied room downstairs at night, so a mini split makes perfect sense. I received three quotes, all varying about $500, for different quality units. One quote was the cheapest, but I would not allow that particular unit to be installed due to the mediocre quality. Among top tier units, (Gree & Mitsubishi, 2 of the 3 quotes), there's only a $230 difference, but there is a big efficiency difference between them, so the price difference makes sense. I decided to contact Jim Rott because I did hear good things about this company. They also quoted for a Gree unit, however, they came in more than $1,600 more than the next highest bid ($4111 vs $2500), and the $2,500 unit was a 26.4 seer Mitsubishi. The Gree is a 19.5 seer. The quote for the other identical (same seer & size at least) Gree unit was $2100, so Rott was $2111 more than the same unit, installed, from another company. I looked up the price of that unit and several HVAC supply companies range from $1048 to $1400. IMO, $800 to $1,000 for about 2 hours work seems reasonable for a legitimate HVAC company, however, ~ $2111 is not in my opinion. I already had a dedicated electrical box installed, with disconnect, so everything is ready to go. The istall should not have taken more than 2 hours since the area has very easy access. I'm confident that this company does good work, however in my opinion, this quote is obscene. $1,600 more for a significantly less efficient unit is beyond unacceptable. After explaining all of this, they stated that if I received a cheaper quote, go that route. No problem! I certainly don't need their permission to get a better unit for less money. Good luck Jim Rott with that business model. The absolute lack of concern or care for the price discrepancy was the most disturbing part of this process.

I called Jimmys AC in July of 2024 to inquire about the warranty. Jimmys AC stated that despite Florida state law requiring the warranties to be in effect, informed me that the warranty was not in fact, in effect. However, over the phone they verbally informed me that so long as I continued to have them service the HVAC through them, they would honor the warranty. Subsequent invoices from Jimmys AC have the notation that the parts are under warranty, but labor is not. I repeatedly made service calls with the complaint that the mini-split is not functioning correctly. Jimmys AC came out, invoiced me repeatedly (all which were paid), without a resolution to the mini-split. They finally informed me that the unit is defective. I inquired about the warranty for the unit, and they informed me that it's not under warranty, despite it being required under Florida state law, and their own agreement with me (as per their own invoices). I repeatedly tried to meet them in the middle, offering to cover the cost of the parts myself, in exchange for their labor to install it, as a middle ground regarding the circumstances and Jimmy's AC refused to budge at all, stating "they can't just give me free labor", yet they verbally and written (as per invoices for services) agreed to warranty the unit, never mind the warranty being required to be in effect as per Florida state law. Unfortunately, after spending several thousand dollars for a mini-split system that only lasted about three years we have another large expense and a warranty that was not honored in contradiction to Florida state law, by both Jimmys and Lennox (allegedly). While their techs were courteous and professional (two stars), I would not expect them to honor their word when it comes to warranties. I made multiple good faith effort to work with them without any sort of resolution.
