Hilton Garden Inn West Little Rock - Meeting Room

Hilton Garden Inn West Little Rock

Dec 29th. The lobby was beautifully decorated for the holidays. No cheerful greetings at the front…read moredesk. I went up to my room to start unpacking my toiletries and food and drinks for the refrigerator. Just before 6:30 PM I did read the paper about the holiday hours and saw that there was a manager's reception that ended at 6:30 so I missed out. I was there in time to get a complementary cocktail and nosh on their snacks. Not a problem because I was hungry, and I was going to go downstairs to order a burger to bring back up to my room. When I tried to lock the door as I was leaving my room, the door would not lock. I went back inside of the room and pushed on the door to see if it would snap and lock and it would not. So I went downstairs to pick up my burger that I ordered with no onion. (Yeah, they put onion on it...... she even repeated my order to me and said no onion). I got my burger and stopped at the front desk to inform her about my key and ask if maintenance was on the premises. She stated that they did not have a maintenance person. I explained to her that right now all of my valuables are upstairs in the room and I can't lock the door so she gave me another room and changed my key. I went upstairs and tried the door that she was moving me to, and it did not unlock. So I went to my unlocked room and called downstairs to tell her that the key did not work and I was going to try to eat some of my food before it gets cold and she hung up while I was still talking. Now I am a bit peeved because I can't enjoy my food and I need to pack all my stuff up again and move to another room. I was pressed for time so I did not eat my food. I needed to get my room situation fixed first. I went back downstairs to exchange the key AGAIN! I did not get an apology or anything, and I started to ask her if she realized she hung up in my face but being tired from my flight and Hangry I thought it would be best just to get the key and start moving my room. Once again, I went upstairs and the key that she gave me still did not work; and my other room is still unlocked with my valuables in it. I went back to my unlocked room and packed everything and put it in the closet and the refrigerator and went back downstairs AGAIN! The woman at the desk was helping other people so I stood back and waited. Another employee was coming in and she asked if she could help me. The girl that originally helped me was on the phone with someone and she was getting short patient with the people on the phone. She got off the phone and explained to the other employee what was going on with my key and said that they would have to manually let me in. I followed the other employee up to my room and I showed her what was going on with my first room and the room that I was moving to and she was very apologetic and hospitable as well as offered to help me move my room. I thanked her very much and explained to her that this was the first hospitality and apology that I was receiving since I got here. And that I greatly appreciated her compassion and assistance. I went to bed and heard a knock at the door. I can see that it was the lady that was behind the bar with a bag. I thought maybe they felt sorry for me having a cold burger and fries that I couldn't , and was bringing up a hospitality package or something. Nope, she said "Oh, I'm at the wrong door"! I dragged myself back to my bed. After all I've gone through, you would think they would have credit me for my cold burger and fries. And with having to change my room, they billed us twice for the room! The room that I was moved to did not have central air like the other room did, it had a loud swamp cooler and mold in the shower, but the bed looked clean and it did not have bad smells. The shower water pressure was very low. The bed was very comfortable. And the drains did not have bad smells. The toilet was very low to the floor. I did come down the next day to ask if the complementary water was two bottles a day and she said no, it was only the two bottles at check-in. I asked even if you are a Hilton Honors member you do not get free water daily? She said "No". This was a first for me. I purchased 2 bottles and asked her to bill it to my room. So I am just standing there waiting for a response or reply and her head is still down doing something and then she looks at me and says. "I did it, you're done" (like why are you still standing there? You can go now.!) No communication. No thank yous. No Happy New Years. No apologies....... I'm thinking that this girl must be employed by a relative. Not Hilton worthy. The personality of a sloth. If I have to come back out here, I will try the Embassey Suites, but I will not stay here again. It's not a bad place especially for the price. It was bad customer service and unfortunately, I had a stay from hell trying to get settled.

Had to stay here again for work, unfortunately it has not improved. Front desk staff I interacted…read morewith acted like I was more of an inconvenience for them than anything else. And the breakfast was not good. For $17 you get powdered eggs and desiccated potatoes (the bacon was OK). Coffee was not good.

Despite using the code that was emailed to us, we could not open the front door. I called the contact number and was sent an alternate code that worked. We stayed on in the Turret Suite on the third floor. Our emailed code worked to open the room lock. The room was clean and spacious. The pro of the room is the drinks and snacks provided, but unfortunately, there was a lot more misses: - The Turret bathroom looked like it fit into the period style with a claw foot tub, but it was not easy to use. The flimsy pipes made for turning on the tub difficult. Soap and shampoo was on a table two feet away from the tub. The raised claw foot tub made for a dangerous slippery situation to reach for soap and to get in and out of the tub even with a grab bar. - The toilet comes with old plumbing. Make sure to flush twice, if not three times, as it lacks flushing water pressure. - There are no side tables next to the bed, so phones and other personal items lands on the windowsill away from the bed. - Two huge lamps hung over the bed that we had to move to avoid head bumps. - The windows faced the street, but the slatted window blinds made for a bright room to sleep. The house was clean and we were able to use the common sitting areas downstairs. It would have been nice, especially for the price point, to have a pot of fresh coffee available in the huge kitchen downstairs or even fresh cookies or other baked treats. Heck, for the price, breakfast should have been served since they have a huge unused dining room.

They have provided you with a lot of cute amenities like local beers, little snacks, k cups, and makeup remover wipes. Very well maintained and decorated. We stayed in the room with the detached bathroom which was smaller but still had everything we needed.

It is a nice place, so those basic things should be there. The room service was great, and the "health club" provided a complete gym with a sauna, even though it was on the older side. Most importantly, the room and hotel were very clean, though housekeeping did come a little later in the day than I prefer. For Little Rock, I'd give 4 stars, though I might give 3.5 in bigger cities. Oh, and the valet service was a little slow at times, though very friendly.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE…read more.. We stayed at the hotel for two (2) nights... Two (2) other families were in our traveling party... They have the worst valet service I have ever seen... The hotel only offers valet parking; no other options... Upon arrival, the line to get into the hotel turnaround stretched over a block down the street; it took about 30 minutes to reach the valet... As we were arriving, one of the other families were waiting and said they had been waiting about 20 minutes and didn't have their car... When we left the hotel that first night, we took UBER instead of dealing with valet... The next day, both times we left took 30+ minutes to get our car... When we returned to the hotel at about 10:00pm, the line stretched about 2 blocks down the street... After 20 minutes of waiting and not moving, we went to a surface lot that was about three (3) blocks away and walked back to the hotel (with temperature in the low 30s)... Valets, front desk- no one really cared and there was no sense of urgency by anyone... When I told the guy at the front desk, he said a lot of people have complained have complained and he will make sure the problems are noted in the overnight report for the managers...

This hotel was very middle of the row as far as Embassy suites go. I have been to worse, but what…read moreis very confusing as when you look online and you see the lobby you see the food service area and some of the things that offer you are excited and expecting a new an updated hotel. That's not the case here they have updated the lobby area the reception area the conference center, but that's really it once you go up to the second third or fifth floor everything is still as it was maybe 10 years ago inside the rooms is very dated and it doesn't match the hotel so it can be a little bit deceiving thinking you're gonna get a very up-to-date hotel from some of the photos, but can you certainly realize that that's not the case. The staff was moderately friendly. I did walk up to the counter to check in and it seems even though there was no one at the counter and they appeared to be just a little too busy at the moment to assist me. I did take a few minutes and approaching the counter multiple times, but eventually I didn't get service and I was able to get everything I needed. Parking I was also caught off guard because I was under the impression that parking was free, but there is no free parking. It is $12 to park in their parking lot in $17 to park in the garage. Add that on top of your $200 or $300 fee and that really throws you through a loop thank you to yourself. Why don't I just park across the street or the same questions why don't I just park and not pay because after you pay all that to stay a night to have them add on the parking fee was a big surprise. The breakfast was pretty good. They continue to restock the breakfast items and have things like French toast, pancakes, sausage, bacon, eggs, and you can get a omelette made how you want it and that breakfast comes included with the room so that definitely was a nicer amenity that was offered. It's not your typical continental breakfast. It is more of a full breakfast with very nice coffee stations and different creamers and many different beverages and juices to choose from. But for me, this is really a middle of the run hotel with a high price because of the name the only thing that really put the hotel over the top was in the breakfast service.

It's a decent hotel but for the Hilton chain, I expected updated rooms. There were very few outlets…read morein the room that weren't being utilized. The carpet was by stained throughout the room. There was A LOT of dead space in the living area that could have been occupied with more seating. The bathroom definitely needs to be redesigned due to to tissue being completely behind the toilet and the spout for the sink being completely out of place. I may not stay at this location again unless VERY necessary.
