I was able to taste test the food twice prior to my event, was in constant communication with Jessica over the menue, and had the menue created for the exact feel we wanted with our wedding. Liazzo's did all of the set up and clean up, priovided the linens, the plates, wine glasses, etc. and the food was absolutely wonderful! Aside from the venue, thenumber one thing people commented on was the amazing food. Liazzo's also helped to supply our cutting cake and cupcakes. Not only are the professional, delicious and accommodating, they have unbeatable prices. I truely could not have asked for a better catering experience and recommend them to ANYONE that needs a good caterer!

An old mill space with a second lease on life, now holds various shops, restaurants, and the Crossing, a big event venue that obviously hosts some concerts but looks like it'd make a great wedding venue, too. We grabbed dinner at Highland Avenue just across the way before the show (review for them to follow) and then wandered over for the concert. The Crossing has a decent bar with a couple beers on draft as well as some bottles/cans and wine. You can leave the venue with your drink and hang out on the upstairs patio/balcony area. A nice spot to get some fresh air and have a conversation without screaming over the tunes. The acoustics weren't great for the Wood Brothers -- LOTS of feedback -- and it's all general admission. There are some benches with enough seating for about 10-15 people around the edge of the room. We stood in a few different spots all around the venue and I had a hard time seeing everywhere. While it was a sold out show, it didn't feel too crazy packed. All in all, it's a pretty venue in a cool spot but the acoustics and limited visibility make it a tough spot to enjoy a concert.

Went to Hickory for the first time to see The Wood Brothers, and this venue was okay. It is flat,…read moreso you do need to be up close if you care about that. The crowd was very alive, I can say that much...! I thought the overall venue atmosphere was neat, although I didn't care for the draperies hanging from the ceiling (just not my style). The only reason I didn't give 4 stars is because the beer selection was HORRIBLE. We are talking basic, gross (to me) beers: Coors Light (maybe??), Miller Lite, that genre. Two beers on tap, but also bad. No IPAs or dark beers or selection at all. Really irritated me, especially because there are tons of great breweries in our state, and Hickory is situated between many of them. I saw signage for the Blowing Rock Brewery and regret not going there for a pre-show brew.

They were correct! I wanted to try something different, so I got the meatloaf, Brussels sprouts, and mashed potatoes, which were recommended by the waitress. Everything was very well prepared and tasted really good. They had about 20 beers on tap and a heavy selection of high-end bourbon. Service was decently fast, and the vibe was more of a fancy bar type of atmosphere. Would love to go back when I'm in the area

Very disappointed as I love anything that is fried and well put together. This was not it. I had the Filet, medium and it was a bit undercooked. Plenty of blue spots. The steak was pretty "meh." The demi-glace was fantastic! Wife loved her Harvest Pear Salad! More than likely I just picked poorly (except the eggs, they should have been better). We may try again.

We held a 50th wedding anniversary at The Broken Arrow Farm venue, and it was ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!…read more Tina and her boys were very accommodating to all of our questions & needs for our event. The venue space has a wonderfully quaint country feel, but not too rustic, which was perfect for our event needs. The venue had round tables, chairs, table cloths, and a nice selection of "already there" decorations that were made available for us to use for the event. This was of great help in containing the cost of the event, because having to seek an outside rental company (that usually are not available/included at other venues) for these details can run a very expensive bill. Highly recommend The Broken Arrow Farm venue for any event, not just for a wedding. All the trees and flowers were in bloom for Spring so it was extra special. I loved the course and how it had different elevations. Even though the greens ate my lunch. But that's a me thing. I also loved that even though there are plenty of houses on it, it did not feel that way. And regardless they were unique and pretty (from a designer perspective anyways). I had such a good time, I would go back again and again. The staff was super friendly and was kind enough to help me set up our day since I'm not the golfer in the family my husband usually handles those details. So they took that stress right off me. I highly recommend and look forward to going back when we have more time and try out the spa too.
