There are several reasons to shop at this always very crowded grocery store on Cape Cod. One, the prices. They cannot be beat anywhere. Market Basket provides value compared to the other large grocery chains. This not only includes private label products but also branded products. I could easily put a list together on items that are much cheaper here than Stop & Shop. Example: a popular brand of soup. 2 cans for $5 at Market Basket. One (1), can of same exact soup is $4.79 at Stop & Shop...what???? Two, the service. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Also, they always have a decent amount of checkout cashiers, so even on the busy days, the lines are not too bad. Three, the cafe. The cafe has very good takeout food and offers an excellent variety. The pizza is solid. I hear people raving about the steak bombs, but I have not tried one yet. Four, the location. This location is just past the Sagamore bridge as you head east over the canal. It's easy to get to and then get back on the mid-cape highway. The only real negative is that it is generally pretty crowded (for the reasons I mentioned above, I am sure). The store aisles are a bit tight, so it can get pretty hectic in there. However, the pros far outweigh this one con. read more

Be careful: PICKPOCKETS are rampant!! I love MB generally but this one is very crowded all the time. Because it's so crowded many pickpocketers prey on distracted people with kids or vacationers. Make sure you don't leave anything in your cart that's a personal item because IT WILL GET STOLEN if you walk more than a foot from your cart. Happened to me and another man in the 30 minutes I was there. I walked three feet to grab eggs and had to wait a minute due to a person in front of me. The criminals took my cart and another person's cart- combining half the items and then walked away with my cart and bag toward an exit. Thankfully the bag was not my purse but they thought it was! In my case they were two dark haired people working together. A security guard who roams the aisles would be a good idea. Really. Be careful! read more

I purchased $400 in groceries here and the kid (Jack) bagging the groceries threw meats and fruits together in the same bag, cooked hot bar in the same bag as frozen food and threw bags in the cart instead of placing them gently. All the bread was squished. Disappointing. Perhaps management needs to provide some training on how to bag groceries or hire people who don't hate the job. read more

Was driving by and saw a sign to the market basket. My boyfriend and I have never been to the market basket so I decided to drive over and check it out. It had plenty of parking. I'd said it was definitely a nice grocery store it had a little cafe of where I got a donut because I couldn't resist my sweets haha. The donut was good btw! The store also had pizza section and wing area. It Definitely had a lot of food options just like any typical grocery stores. It looked very well maintained inside and outside. I know this is high season in a hot summer, but I was very disappointed in the fresh produce this morning. Everything looked beat up. Apples had core rot that I didn't see until washing. I tried but when I washed my celery, much was broken or had scrapes. Corn looked awful. On the up side the man who helped me in a aisle and the checkout woman, Laurie, were so very nice. read more

Not a bad little supermarket. They have a little cafe area with a microwave, tables, and silverware which is nice. Pretty clean and friendly service. Only downside is they're usually packed on Sunday's when all the old folks from around the cape come out to shop. read more

Love this place! It couldn't get more convenient than this. It's located just after you cross the bridge, and is the perfect place to do your grocery shopping for your week on the cape. Each time we head to Ptown, we stop here because it's convenient, easy on/off, and the prices just can't be beat. If you haven't been to a market basket, GO! They have all the name brand products you love, a great meat department and the produce is great as well. The best part is that I feel like it's 1/2 the price of other grocery retailers. read more

This Saturday store manager does not wear mask or gloves during virus outbreak. I asked him why and he said it was voluntary. I explained I wear a mask to protect him and his employees. He sets a poor example and subsequently his employees gather at the front of the store without masks and gloves and much closer than 6 feet. After visiting family on the Cape we wanted to grab some groceries for the week, so we decided to stop at this Market Basket since there are non local to us. This isn't the first time we have shopped at this store, but we definitely forgot about this store particular quirks. The first is that the parking lot can become a hot mess during busy times. This isn't usually an issue, but you should definitely keep an eye our for people backing out. When it comes to the store itself, the products here are similar to the other Market Baskets we have been to. The staff here is great, but sometimes some of the customers that frequent this store are a bit entitled and don't make it easy to shop as they hog the aisles. That all being said, we enjoy shopping at this store and we look forward to the next time we shop here. read more

I cant believe this place! Lunch time is when most people go to Market Basket. At the deli 2 people cutting meat I was no 17 and 15 mins later was no 14 .I saw 5 people walk away. my 20 min cheeseburger was finally ready only 1 person here at the grill. 1 person on the pizza and only 1 at the hot wings which we waited 5 mins for so a half hour no deli meat no wings and a cold burger. Most of the employees were not helpful or were obviously annoyed that customers were still in the store 10 minutes before closing. Shopped at Market Basket in Bourne yesterday before 8AM. I had to return due to rotten Olivia lettuce I had just bought. I did not notice it when I bought it because the top of the lid was covered with condensation. But the bottom was brown water that had leaked all over the grocery bag. On my return behind me in line at the service desk was a man who had bought the same lettuce on Saturday, it too was rotten! I exchanged (with no problem) for Little Leaf which was suggested by the employee who was working at the those shelves. His suggestion came after I pointed out to him another Olivia lettuce that had watery brown water at the bottom of the carton. I had told him initially that i had just bought Olivia an hour ago and it was bad. His response, "I just got here." I also bought a steak (Prime Ribeye). I cooked it for my husband for lunch that day. It was the only thing that he had eaten and I had not. He got severe stomach cramps and diarrhea shortly after. I beleive that it was the steak. I am having company tomorrow for a cook out. I need to buy some hot dogs and hamburger. I do not trust what Market Basket has to offer. I do not want to make my guests sick. I need to find another grocery store. Sad for I have shopped at MB for a long time in other cities. read more

When it was my turn, she barely looked at me, no greeting, no nothing. Only thing I heard from her was credit or debit. Ending up speaking to the store manager by customer service about a different situation. They were friendly but it was very fake. I'm not Guna pull the race card but long story short. I know that they generally have good prices. I just find it so loud and crowded. There are some aisles that are so crowded that you cannot get through. They way they stock the shelves is crazy. The stock fills the already crowded aisles and things are not necessarily filled accurately. I would only shop here on weekdays because weekends are crazy. read more

I have driven past this Market Basket several times, and I finally stopped in for lunch when I noticed they advertised a "Market Cafe" on site. I was generally impressed with the grocery store, but I was somewhat "meh" about the actual cafe concept. The "cafe" was more of a beverage and snack stand - I had been expecting hot food stands similar to what I have seen at newer Market Basket stores. There was a decent assortment of hot and cold foods available nearby, though all pre-made. My sausage and pepper hoagie was pretty good. The dining area, which has about a dozen tables, is pretty average, and the tables are wobbly, but it is very well maintained (Hey, it's Market Basket). The grocery store is exactly what I expected (which is a good thing), thought the express line cashiers were a bit slower than they should be. read more

The prices here are good, sometimes great. The store is clean and well staffed. It's often mobbed because groceries on the Cape are artificially inflated and this store was sorely needed in our area. Even though it's always very busy, they always have all the registers open when it's busy like that. Check out during a rush, while not a breeze, is tolerable and you're out the door in 10 minutes or so. MINUS ONE STAR: My main complaint is that they often stock items in the wrong place. This is a consistent problem. I had it with Morningstar brand veggie burgers -- most of the slots were stocked with the wrong varieties and the variety I was looking for wasn't stocked at all. The same goes for salad dressing, all the spaces for the varieties of a certain brands' dressing are filled, but often with the wrong variety and the particular one I want is missing. Over-and-over, category-by-category, it's like that through the store! Each week, there is always something on my list that fits this description. It's inevitable! It's not like these things aren't barcoded -- they know what they sell and what to order, so why are so many things out of stock or stocked in the wrong slots? So, this is otherwise a great store and I really appreciate it being there, minor inconveniences aside. read more

This store is not just about inexpensive groceries, they are more importantly all about excellent customer service. My wife shopped there for the first time yesterday. She wanted some fresh roasted turkey legs but Chris in that department said they were not ready yet. So, my wife finished buying the items on her list and proceeded to the checkout line. While waiting in line, up comes Chris with a package of large chicken legs. My wife said, it was turkey legs she wanted. Chris said wait, I'll be right back. He ran back and returned with two piping hot Turkey Legs. Wow! You would never get that kind of treatment at the Greedy stores like Shaws or Stop & Shop. We will shop nowhere else. One of the nicer market basket's I've been to. Maybe get rid of the register all the way to the left when you walk in (next to the eatery area). It was freezing over there! I felt so bad for the people working at that register because every time the door opened we would get cold--I can't image how it was for them. Very inexpensive grocery and great produce selection. They have the organic food separate from conventional, like most grocers do now but they have from the beginning. They have a lot of vegan options for dining like veggie burgers and dogs, alternative cheeses and so many alternative milks. And all their groceries are dollars less than at health food stores with many of the same products. Maybe a 4.5 because the rest of the organic groceries could be separate the way some do to make it easier for people who don't know the store but just look around and you will be satisfied. read more

Very upset! I just left this market basket and witnessed employees accusing a young man of stealing. I myself, witness this young man purchase the item in the line. When they began to realize they may be wrong, they then asked him to produce a receipt. The manager was very unprofessional and I felt so bad for the young man who was humiliated and disgraced. I believe there's laws in place so people can refrain from such tacky and illegal procedures. I will never go back there. read more

Been coming to the Cape for over 20 yrs. Finally it does not cost an arm and a leg for groceries. I really missed the A&P because they were convenient. Left to S&S or Shaws. lots of driving and few bargains. Great bakery, deli and cafe here at MB. Gave it a four because they dropped Cabot deli cheese. Had to visit this place after all the publicity surrounding the ownership struggle, and found a brand new store, a vast selection of high quality produce, excellent Black Angus meat, name brand and house labels, interesting selections ("Croc" cheddar from Australia - which was delicious) and very reasonable prices. A easy stop after the bridge to stock up on the way to the Cape or pick up something to make for dinner on the way back. Wish one of these stores would open closer to home. read more
