I was a bit disappointed with the fact that for our "practice shots" we only got to shoot one arrow and then we went directly to the game field. Anyone who isn't familiar with archery or hasn't done archery would find this difficult compared to the skilled players. The arrows have a soft foam tip so that it doesn't hurt too much if you get hit. Unless you're a big enough group, you end up playing with other players in the game field (think: laser tag games). It got pretty sweaty under the helmet that's mandatory to wear, and as someone with sensitive skin, it made my face quite itchy. When we got off the bus, we figured we were in the middle of nowhere. Walking down the street that was marked as "Triole", I thought we had the wrong place. This establishment is in a strip mall styled industrial park. We finally found the entrance and paid to get in. My brother and I started with the glow-in-the-dark mini-putt. It was dangerous! We were stumbling about in the dark. The paint provided no sense of depth perception so we ended up tripping a lot over the wood marking off each of the holes. We ended up quitting early. Never tried the rock climbing wall. The laser tag was decent. The arcade, though, left something to be desired. About half of the machines were broken. I guess this is typical of most arcades though. There was also a jungle gym (think cosmic adventures) but that was extra tokens. I did get quiet tired of the arcade games pretty quickly and some games looked worse for wear. The kids seemed to enjoy it. The cards did have a timer between playing games so that you could not double tap the card. The $25 all you can play game night did NOT let you build up credit to redeem for prizes. We had a party room and cheese pizza. Pizza was your standard pizza. Great for kids, but nothing to write home about. The vibe of Funhaven was more warehouse/concrete vibes. Washrooms were clean. I do wish they had sanitzer bottles placed out around the establishement. I did find myself washing my hands quiet frequently after playing the games (flu season, not taking any chances). My husband has been wanting to check out Funhaven for a while, and I'm glad we did where all expenses were paid for, but I would not rush back.

I'm not in this area often, especially during the pandemic, so when I saw that they were offering frozen pierogis through Burrow Shop's online grocery delivery service, I had to buy them. I got the traditional pierogis made with flour, sour cream, eggs, potato, cheddar cheese, and salt. It was a 12-pack of frozen pierogis sealed in plastic in a little cardboard box with the instructions at the bottom, which included boiling and panfrying. I was lazy and starving at that point and looking for something fast, so I decided to brush six of them with olive oil and stick them in the air fryer. I should've taken them out sooner because the potato started leaking out the ends, but they were still great. Of course, if I had followed the instructions, I'm sure they'd be even better (I saved the other half to try it making it the way they said). Simple and comforting, not lacking flavour, but not too tame, and not too salty. The six were a great snack for just myself - I can see how people could easily take down plates of these!
