If I could choose one word to describe Ottawa Paint Ball, it would be...Pain. You're required to…read morereserve a time slot in order to play. But when we reached Ottawa Paint Ball, we found out that we had to share one room with another group. Add to the fact that the room was unbelievably tiny, and the lack of equipment, and you have a disaster on your hands. The equipment that they provided was not standard equipment that you would find at other places. I was expecting to get a full mask, and some body armour as the minimum. When the manager handed me a visor for my eyes, and a paint ball gun as my equipment, I became a little worried. The worry I felt soon became three shots to the face and one to the mouth, causing me to swallow paint. It tasted bitter. Since we didn't get any armour to protect ourselves, we ended up layering ourselves with sweaters and jackets, but that didn't lessen the pain from exploding paint balls. I paid a premium in order to get shot in the face. It turned out that you had to pay extra for ammunition, and each time you ran out, you had to pay more to stay in the game. We ended up savouring each shot, by not shooting at all, which created some awkward manoeuvring. At the end of the day, I had welts on my face, paint on my brand new sweater, and a lot less money than what I had in my pocket before. But I still had a great time....somehow.

Looks like in the Fall of 2023 they will be adding an Air bunker X-ball field for those looking to play Speedball/X-ball. Competitively priced for entry packages and paintballs themselves, this field is worth the drive from the surrounding area as there is nothing like it within 200km in every direction, I will be back for sure! -D.
