I knew what the core problem was and that the drain was physically blocked some distance from the sink itself, and I realized that I couldn't fix it myself. So after checking Yelp and finding the stellar reviews I just called Victor at 11.04 in the morning, and he picked up himself :). We chatted and he asked me to text our exact address (which I did) and he texted back that he had a couple of jobs near us but that he thought he could be with by 7pm. It got to about 8.30pm so I texted and he called back and said he could be with us in 15 minutes if it wasn't too late or he would come first thing in the morning. I said please come now and he did. It was Victor himself, a real gentleman who REALLY knows his stuff! 45 minutes later the sink was flowing again like magic. He cleaned everything up and took care to wear shoe covers and gloves. It was also awesome to chit chat with him about Beverly Hills and the celebs all around us over the years - including a BIG name that used to live in our building in the 70's (news to him). He fixed two of our showers, which went from pathetic trickles with loud, groaning shakes to normal, full pressure with incredible water flow. On one of the showers, a handle was completely stuck with severe green buildup. Manny expertly disengaged it, changed our Toto cartridges, and deep-cleaned the showerheads. Since our old plumber didn't know anything about fixing/repairing things that are not working properly, I had to look around and found this company. This is a family owned business that has been around for over 30 years. They specialize in fixing sinks, toilets, drain stoppers, main line stoppers, garbage disposals, dishwashers, kitchen water lines, and more.. I used this company twice before. Once for my sink's garbage disposal, and the other time was for the sinks in both of my bathrooms. My landlord bought this cheap faucet that they use at fast food chain restaurants, and didn't do anything with the valve or the damages, that was caused by the leaks that literally became to be a lake in both bathrooms. My cleaning supplies, toilet papers, paper towels that I keep under my sink were SO wet along with both floors. The job that those 2 guys did in an hour and a half, took my old plumber to do in 5 hours and was still not fixed. It was like putting a band-aid on a wound. The process was so fast, seamless, and professional.. I called on a Wednesday afternoon with sewage coming up through a shower drain. Cesar came out that evening and worked late into the night, but the line would not open, which told us this was not a normal clog. The next day they excavated, got down to the blocked section, removed the clogged pipe, and jetted it clear. Once it was open they ran the camera, and it showed exactly why this kept happening: the old clay pipe was cracked and offset, with a corroded section of cast iron next to it. Cesar walked me through the footage and laid out the options, and we went with a full trenchless pipe burst replacement. The thing that stood out most was the communication. Cesar answered every question I had, no matter how small or how many times I asked, and he answered them fast. Everything was in writing. The scope grew as they found more, but every increase was explained and quoted before they touched anything, and the final bill matched the contract to the dollar. When they ran into an extra connection at a bend they handled it at no charge without me asking. My tenant works from home with strict privacy requirements and a hard cutoff time, and they worked around her schedule every single visit. Small things, but they say something: the whole crew showed up in matching Charlie's uniforms, trucks clearly marked, everything organized. When the job had to pause for the city inspection, they tarped and secured the excavated soil, covered the pits with plywood, and left the property clean and safe with my tenants living there the whole time. Their mascot is great too. After a week of dealing with this, having a team show up looking like they knew exactly what they were doing was reassuring. The crew did the entire 65 foot pipe burst in one day during an Extreme Heat Warning, close to 100 degrees, and still had water back on that night. They made a next-day appointment & phoned when they were on their way. A very knowledgeable technician - Josh arrived & after checking the plumbing in the basement, explained where the problem was. I had the option of hydro jetting or pouring a clog-clearing product called "Liquid Lightning" (which I never heard of) down the drain. I found the product at Walmart & used it as directed. So far, so good. I have two water heater replacements as well as other plumbing repairs coming in the near future & I will not hesitate to call Rockstar Plumbing.
