She told me to continue taking prenatal and double my multi-vitamin as the nutrient level wasn't as high as she desired for me she said with our initial appointment. I went and got my blood drawn. My results came back, and I am super high in "iron". I came back for my second appointment today, one month later after receiving the blood draw to look at my results. She agreed high in iron. She told me to go get checked a second time after doing blood draws and stopping iron supplements. My mother is a hemochromotosis, if you do not get blood drawn, or this figured out - it is the reason of your death most likely with this genetic disease. I asked Naturomedica if they could look over my results a second time since I have already spent $600 with them, if they could just look it over for 5 minutes and give me a thumbs up, or a thumbs down... to tell me looks good after the blood draw, or tell me you need to come back in and we need to figure this out. They said they cannot do that, and it would cost ANOTHER $119 for a 15 minute phone call... I talked to Callie Juetten over the phone. She was harsh, rude, and extremely condoscending about the idea of having a 5 minute phone call or even an email to say you look good, or please come back in. I was happy to spend another $250 to come back in, if I needed to.. I just wanted to know if it was necessary before booking the appointment. This clinic is not capable of providing that type of service is what she told me. Is this naturopath clinic actually there to help people with their health? Why was Callie so harsh?

Before that time, I was a patient of a large medical practice in Issaquah for over a decade. I've always tried to eat well and stay fit through exercise. So it has been frustrating that the story I've received every year at my annual checkup from my primary care physician at this large medical practice is the same: some of your biomarkers are higher than ideal and we'll just watch them. No further investigation, no analysis of underlying causes, no next steps at all. After I saw Dr Woodall, I learned for the first time that there were steps that I could take to address the underlying causes of my high biomarkers. The steps that I have taken include both medicines as well as nutritional supplements based on scientific knowledge and lab testing of vitamins and nutrients my body is not absorbing well. And I'm confident that the steps that I have taken will help me stay fit, active, and healthy as I move into an older stage of life. The doctors of the practice take a holistic approach seeking the root causes of ailments rather than merely addressing symptoms as seems to be the norm for many medical practices these days due. If you want to get ahead of health problems instead of dealing with them only after they arise, this is a medical practice that is highly worth investigating.

I went in with a badly sprained ankle, partially-torn Achilles, over-stretched IT bands, R knee muscle numerous jarred joints (L&R wrists, L&R elbows, L shoulder, L&R hip, R knee, L&R ankles) plus muscular damage... it was, as I said, a bad fall. I've been seeing her once a week for the past month... she is phenomenal. As much as I detest needles, she uses the smallest needle diameter possible to deliver natural meds to each of the more injured and painful areas, decreasing the amount of pokes needed each time, with the exception of 'flare-up' or resistant areas. And, Dr. Mullen Rx'd Deep Tissue and Chiro to help unlock my jammed up mid-back, hip, knee, neck joints. If you are looking for an alternative to chemical meds that mask rather than heal, I highly recommend Dr. Mullen's skills, continuous knowledge acquisition, gentle and compassionate, yet professional nature. I worked in the TCM & Integrative Med field for many years, and am SO THANKFUL our paths intersected, as the injuries are healing at a deeper core level than they would have, using the Western Med protocols MDs Rx for soft tissue damage (alt. ice/heat, elevation, Tylenol or Aspirin for pain).

I've tried Orthopedic doctors, Rheumatologists, Chiropractors, Physical Therapists, etc. She has been the only doctor that figured out the roots of my complains. She made a huge difference in my eating habits and my feeling so much better. She got me on a much better diet after testing for those food allergies. *In 2017 I was having a lot of acid reflux, and she had me go to Bellevue Imaging for some scans, which found out I had a bit of lung cancer instead. Had 1/2 of my right lung removed, at Virginia Mason in Seattle after I found a local lung Dr. at Evergreen, for that referral. Am now doing great, even with COVID around. *This month (April, 2021) I told her about some odd burning sensations under my rib bones. Another trip to Bellevue imaging found heavy calcium deposits on two of my main ventricals. She also referred me to her favorite cardiologist last week, had a long appt. with him, am doing more tests, this week and next, with surgery in 10 days. That physician said I have a 95% chance of having a stroke. All of my Dr's are great, but not available for sometimes weeks and weeks. Dr. Maura has flexible hours, LISTENS, and questions, and is really cool to talk to. Hopefully, I won't have anything else happening this year or next, that requires her professional advice to seek MORE solutions, thru her resources in King Co. I LOVE Dr. Maura's office, will probably always go to her more often as needed for odd issues in my aging body.

I arrived about 10 minutes early, Carlton was still with another patient and was about 15 minutes late to start my appointment. When I finally got into his office, he immediately told me, he's unable to treat tinnitus. I appreciated his candor, but it was weirdly abrupt. I have never had such a short medical consultation of any kind. I had literally just sat down. Back in reception, there was already someone else waiting. He then charged me $60 for the 'office visit'. I was in his treatment room for maybe 2 minutes. That's when I realized, he was double booked and running late. But he still wanted some money. Ugh. And then as I was leaving, he calls out, right in front of the other patient, "come back if have you regular aches or pains, but I can't treat THAT". Yeah he made it sound like I have some kind of 'irregular' condition. So basically I paid $60 to wait in reception for 25 minutes and then get embarrassed on the way out.
