The worst thing here the staffs here were very hostile to muslims like myself then as well as insulting my culture and ethnicity as a Yemeni-Acehnese. Especially Stewart Clark, he would call my culture primitive and stupid. I was sent to detention here a lot with little to no justification and the little justifications had literally no proof. I was then sent to a counselor because Assistant Principal Stewart Clark thinks Islam is a mental illness and he even referred me to a psychologist which well it didn't work because I was not mentally ill. And then the higher staffs then sent me on suspension multiple times all because of my views and religion and ethnicities. Some of the students here are islamophobic and have a deep hatred for arabs like myself and some were responsible with making false claims on me then to get me into trouble. I was then assumed to be dangerous by Stewart Clark just because I'm muslim and a Yemeni-Acehnese. I got my backpack searched without permission and was seen as an enemy by him and other staffs like principal Rutherford for my race and religion. Eventually I was expelled. The experience here left me with PTSD to this day. I hope Steward Clark, Principal Rutherford, and the counselor then understands how their bigotry then. I really hope things has changed today from the time I'm there and the school being more accepting to diversity now and has more respect to other backgrounds.

Some of the other buildings are in the same vein, the music building, the old Ag. building. Adding to that tradition is a much more modern state-of-the-art building - DeSoto Hall (in honor of the wonderful stickler of an English teacher - Eugene DeSoto). Inside the main building is a new room filled with historical artifacts from decades gone by. It's fascinating to look at the pictures and memorabilia and see just what has changed... and just what hasn't! Also recently redone is the auditorium - a venue to many magnificent performances (and a ghost!). With all it's beauty and quirks, one thing SRHS is not is a plain vanilla, flat-top roof, fugly era high school. Go Panthers!

It was especially exciting for us since I had just got married, so we were brand new to town and couldn't wait to meet new friends here! Everything was SO much fun... all the activities we got to share in with our kids and their teachers, great food and atmosphere! Then, as i was simply filling out a raffle ticket alongside other moms for our kids to win a park-date with their teacher, this woman comes STOMPING up behind me and (literally!) RIPS out my ticket from underneath my pen!!!! ...causing it to tear. I was in shock. Why this level of aggression, and in the midst of such a good time at an elementary school, and by a woman who i'd never seen before in my entire life??? Maybe it was an accident, etc... so I laughed it off and kindly asked her for a new ticket. But instead of apologizing, or explaining, or handing me another ticket... or any of the normal reactions i expected to get back from her, she took 2 giant steps -- directly into my face!! -- and yelled, "Too bad!," then walked away. I just stood there quietly IN SHOCK and confusion by what had just happened... when another mom (who saw it all) came right over to me. She told me that nasty girl was actually the Parents Club President named Sherina Saul-Tuxson, and that she had personally WITNESSED Sherina plotting with another mom to win that very raffle that i was entering!!! I coudn't believe it -- THAT is why Sherina ripped my ticket away from me!!! This woman also said that all her friends witnessed it too! (Apparently Sherina isn't terribly good at covering up her cheating.) Sure enough, that mom who Sherina was cheating for, went on to win the raffle. I just could not believe that this so-called president was capable of such low-life behavior, especially at an elementary school!!! Her CHEATING and AGGRESSIVE behavior toward me was ATROCIOUS beyond words. The next day, i reported Sherina to the principal. Although the principal was sympathetic and apologetic, she told me that since the Parents Club is separate from the school, there was nothing she could do. That is why i'm posting here -- To inform other mothers in the school, and the parents club members, about what Sherina did to me, how physically and verbally aggressively she treated me at the very first event of our loving new school, and all for NO other reason than to BULLY an unsuspecting Mother, in order to CHEAT at an elementary school family raffle. How pathetic and shameful. I'd also like to please raise awareness to elect a NEW president! I CAN'T WAIT to join the Parents Club -- as soon as she is dismissed. There is just NO ROOM for that kind of disgraceful behavior toward our fellow moms, and especially in the midst of our elementary-aged children. Thank you.

The middle school is tough no matter what school, town or state. It is a rough age in the best circumstances. The high school has been amazing. I will not pretend I was always happy with the politics or some of our administration of years past but all in all the people who are in charge of our kids have done an amazing job. Each and every one of the teachers explained that during class they lock down the bathrooms during class because people will skip class and just vape. If you had to go to the bathroom you would be escorted by the principal and the principal will wait in front of your stall. They don't even have and school officers because they refuse to pay for them. I heard from someone that a person threatened them with a pocket knife during school and pushed it up against their side and made them sit next to them the whole day. Everyone there judges you and they give you dirty looks. %75 of people there have/do drugs. About a month after I left I heard on the news that a kid brought a knife to school and charged another kid with it. When I was there for only like a day I felt scared and would rather be in jail for a day. I went the next day and didn't even last half the day. I faked being sick and left. I never went back ever again.
