The first time we ever went to see him, the room we were in was short a chair. I had arrived a bit late to sit on in on my husband's appointment, and what did Dr. B. do but sit on the floor and give me his chair. Seriously? It was comical at the time but made a big impression on us. This set the tone for years of wonderful, compassionate care that we have both received from him. The office is conveniently located on Sheridan Street in Cooper City, Fl. Wait times are usually reasonable and appointments are just the right length. We have found that a lot of times Dr. Barroso will be booked for up to two weeks which we think is kind of ridiculous...but, what can we say. It's worth the wait. I would remove half a star if I could for the inconsistency of the front office staff. Sometimes, when I call, I am treated very kindly and professionally. Other times, I feel like the biggest nuisance in the world. Some of the front desk staff will greet us very kindly when we walk in, and sometimes we are not greeted at all. Once when trying to get a message to our Doc (for follow up, at his request), it took days until I finally gave up and made an appointment since it seemed like the hardest thing in the world to actually get a message to him. Other than that, I would highly recommend this office and especially Dr. Barroso!

I have insurance that does not require me to go to a primary but I prefer to go to the primary so someone knows all the different conditions I am managing and the treatments to ensure there isn't a conflict. Today, I had an appointment and got the RN. Unlike the PA that seems to be interested in the medical profession, the RN is rude (won't let you ask any questions without interrupting), arrogant (can glance at a screen for a second and from that glance can disregard all the other doctors and procedures done over the last 40 years), and argumentative (literally argued about everything while not knowing and disregarding prior diagnosis from real doctors). It came to light today that on other occasions that he has operated in an ethically gray area. Prime example is not only on an escalated issue, called back and allowed me to believe he was a doctor and then to covered for the front office by suggesting that I pay out of pocket because they didn't know how to complete the paperwork for prescription. This while putting my wellbeing in jeopardy due to all I can assume is laziness. Another time refused cancelled on appointment on a Friday afternoon because because he didn't want to complete the appointment and even with the severity of the issue, thought it would be better for him, if I waited for another doctors office to schedule a appointment knowing that would be weeks out. When I said that I needed to address the issue sooner he then wanted me to go to the emergency room all without knowing the history or background. The PA is great. She does not always agree and sometime acts in the best interest of the practice, but I have not had any ethical issues, or had to deal with the unnecessary arrogance that I always have to deal with with this RN. I think someone needs to remind him that he is not a Doctor or PA and that all patients are not completely ignorant about the conditions they have been managing for 40 years. I would suggest it might be worth a couple minutes to let them finish a whole sentence without having to be rude to be heard. I will be following up with the state as I do believe that an RN allowing someone to believe your a doctor so you can gaslight them is ethically wrong at the very least, but likely far more serious than that.

As a patient- I found the check in process easy; the online forms to fill out very detailed and clear. I included pictures of the signs that mention lab fees and other information. I did not get the names of staff but still felt treated well with each visit. I could ask questions directly to anyone at the front desk. The doctor was able to listen to my concerns and answered my questions. It is a different system than what I am used to in accessing my health records; follow ups are done in person and not over the phone. Which I guess is good if you do have any questions. The wait time was not long. Maybe like 5 minutes. I called this location near closing time and that was my only problem with service, I was on hold nearly 20 minutes - but I believe there was just one person on staff at the time - I'm not sure why it took so long.

I know he is very busy and it's ok for me to wait, but not for over 3hrs, that's very unprofessional. I have so many thing to do on the day off, not just for doctor appt, not respect at all.

I have ben able to get same day office or telemedicine appointments. I frequently travel and am able to reach out to the office and have any health issues resolved. Refills for medication can sometimes be a challenge but most times they are handled promptly. Dr. Salazar is compassionate and knows his stuff. He has helped me through numerous medical challenges and I'm here to stay.

She recommended Francis Salazar. So hubby went and he was happy. Over the years the Doctor moved and he followed. Now hubby is very picky so when I finally decided maybe I should see a Doctor I joined him yesterday for an annual check up. Don't get me wrong I go to the Gynecologist,Dermatologist, and get a colonoscopy every three years. I just don't see a regular MD. But lately I have had chest pains so I thought hey got insurance might as well use it. So this place recently added Saturday appointments which is great and we were the first of the day. Very extensive exam including an EKG. The office and Dr. Salazar are top notch as well as human. Very rare in this day and age now, I highly recommend to my fellow Yelpers.
