Ducked in to talk Rheumatology, Immunology, digital marketing, and digital infrastructure…read more Dr Valenzuela's state-of-the-art practice is located in Plantation, Florida. I find the doctor to be a very engaging, interesting, intelligent, and charismatic man. He is obviously very popular with patients as his waiting room is always very busy. He has a very George Hamilton type of air about him. His staff and office run in a professional manner, and his Plantation office is centrally located right near Westside Regional and the Broward Mall. Lots of energy and activity going on here. Plenty of parking and easy to get into his ground floor offices and exam rooms. Dr. Valenzuela has an inclusive approach to his practice. The full name of his practice is I. R. I. S., which stands for Integral Rheumatology and Immunology Specialists and his facility covers all diagnostic and treatment needs of patients with rheumatoid conditions: Digital X-Rays, Extremity MRI, Bone Densitometry, Ultrasound and Infusion Suite. He has all the labs, exam rooms, and imaging equipment in-house so patients don't have to travel all over town and waste time assessing their health condition. His office continually contributes to the development of new treatments and protocols through the contribution in clinical studies. Nice! I'm not a patient of Dr. Valenzuela's, but I have spent many years working in the healthcare field, working in / with doctors and hospitals. It is important to note that Dr. Valenzuela is the incoming president of the nationwide Rheumatology Association.

Terrible office. Save yourselves from delays, cancellations, frustration. My second visit I waited…read moreto see Dr Valenzuela for 2.5 hrs. Got a prescription for PROLIA. My follow up appointment got cancelled twice first 1 week prior despite having done all the blood work he requested, then again 2 days prior. Got an appointment with his NP Ilene as I was due for my 2nd dose of PROLIA. She was supposed to send my prescription to my pharmacy. I left multiple messages for the NP, the nurse and the coordinator. Additional messages to the office pharmacist with no results. Not a single phone call returned. Ah but to charge my credit card such efficiency! Avoid delays in your care and go somewhere else. I'm basked for the supervisor and was told she quit a couple of days ago!!!

I had an appointment with Dr. Jay Adler today. It was a complete waste of time. After meeting with…read morethe doctor, I met with Maria to schedule the procedure. Without checking with my insurance, she informed me I needed to pay her 30% of the doctor's fee up front. I did not understand why I had to pay a separate fee for the doctor and not just my regular copay for my insurance. She collected $235.00. As I departed, she informed me that no-one ever asks any questions. While still in the parking lot, I called the insurance company who informed me the only fee I was responsible for is the $100 co-pay to the facility for my procedure. I went back up to the office to speak with Maria and she would not see me. When she came out to call a new patient, I asked her if I could talk to her and she asked me about what. I informed her that I wanted to know more about why she charged me $235.00. She said it was "in case my insurance company did not pay them." What!??! That is not what she told me in her office!! I have never had to pay up front in case my insurance company did not pay. The fact that she lied to me in the first place was suspicious. I asked to cancel my appointment and requested a refund. If you go to see this doctor, make sure you don't pay anything up front and that you check with your insurance company as to how much you are supposed to pay. Do not rely on Maria. I wonder where all that money being collected under the guise of the "doctor's fee" is really going.

I have been seeing Dr. Adler and he is by far one of the best in the business! Takes time to call…read moreand check up on you and genuinely cares about your health. The office is very nice and never over booked!
