Got an appointment with his NP Ilene as I was due for my 2nd dose of PROLIA. She was supposed to send my prescription to my pharmacy. I left multiple messages for the NP, the nurse and the coordinator. Additional messages to the office pharmacist with no results. Not a single phone call returned. I am aware that they treat one another like family and maybe that rubs some the wrong way but DEFINETELY NOT ME. It's not fair to go by one patient's negative review. Without checking with my insurance, she informed me I needed to pay her 30% of the doctor's fee up front. I did not understand why I had to pay a separate fee for the doctor and not just my regular copay for my insurance. She collected $235.00. As I departed, she informed me that no-one ever asks any questions. While still in the parking lot, I called the insurance company who informed me the only fee I was responsible for is the $100 co-pay to the facility for my procedure. I went back up to the office to speak with Maria and she would not see me. When she came out to call a new patient, I asked her if I could talk to her and she asked me about what. I informed her that I wanted to know more about why she charged me $235.00. She said it was "in case my insurance company did not pay them." What!??! That is not what she told me in her office!! I have never had to pay up front in case my insurance company did not pay. The fact that she lied to me in the first place was suspicious. I asked to cancel my appointment and requested a refund. If you go to see this doctor, make sure you don't pay anything up front and that you check with your insurance company as to how much you are supposed to pay. Do not rely on Maria. I wonder where all that money being collected under the guise of the "doctor's fee" is really going.

They definitely treat the whole patient and not just the symptoms by casually reaching for the presctiption pad. I have not had even one problem at any level, be it appointments, prescriptions, or referrals. They even assisted me in getting more benefits from my insurance. As proof of just how well the practice functions: in my 18 years going to Dr Mabourakh I have observed only one employee turnover. Try and match that in any other office.
