Dr Sayed has been wonderful with my eldest boy treating him with expanders to help create more room, along with opening up his sinuses and shaping his palette. He has experienced so many ear infections in the past and since he's had expanders and we've opened things up they have gone away. Our Son has tolerated the expanders very well and has been wearing them all of the time with no issues. They are not supposed to be cosmetic like braces but making more room has definitely helped to straighten things up anyway. We are about to start with our youngest now and I have no doubt that his sinus congestion issues will be significantly improved with the expanders. Dr Sayed is so friendly, calm and nice to the kids (and parents). He seems to genuinely care about the well being of your kids and is passionate about how an Orthodentist can help improve your child's quality of life long-term (helping with snoring and other problems due to tight nasal passages). Dr.Sayed did such a great job on my teeth. I have been seeing 3 different orthodontists before I went to get the opinion from Dr.Sayed and all of them wanted to pull 4 teeth out. First let me point out the fact that we live in Murrieta. We moved from Rancho Santa Margarita 9 years ago where I had taken my, then 3 month old, son to Dr. Jon Sayed Pediatric Dentist. After moving, we continued to visit Dr. Jon and eventually were referred to Dr. Mark. My son loved Dr. Jon for his teeth cleaning (very gentle) so why not try his brother for braces? Dr. Mark conducted a thorough examination and put together a comprehensive plan for the years ahead and my son's growing mouth. In first grade my son was fitted for a pallet expander (sounds worse than it is) and, because he was so young, Dr. Mark gave him a removable appliance so that he could eat properly. After 4 years of using that appliance my son sat patiently on Valentine's day, 2011 to have braces put on. Dr. Mark had assured me & my husband that the initial investment of time and money for the expander would mean that our son would only POSSIBLY need braces but, if he DID get them it would be only for a year or so. I can very happily say that in June of 2012 the braces came off. Unlike many of our son's friends who had braces when they were very young only to have them reapplied again when adult teath appeared, or have had them for several years. We are SO pleased that our son's teeth and bite are absolutely perfect! The charges were fair and never increased, and the appointments were on time and easily made/changed. Sean, at the front desk, is extremely friendly and professional as are the assistants, etc. We completely trusted Dr. Mark and were absolutely correct to do so! He is honest, funny, friendly, professional, and truly a joy to visit. Having his office to go to made the trips and money spent very easy to handle. Dr. Sayed treated my daughter who now has cavities on her front teeth after he told her to wear the retainer while she eats. Perhaps, he was just trying to help his brother make some money since his brother was my daughter's dentist. On top of this, we made payment in which he is still trying to charge us for even though my daughter's front teeth are damaged from his treatment. Called Sean in the office and he told me that he would handle and get back to me, and I still haven't heard from them, yet they still send me invoices. I've filed a complaint with BBB on his billing practices and filed one with the Board of Dentistry on his treatment/ethics. Watch out! He also shamed my daughter in a room full of patients when her retainer was hurting her and told her to put it back in her mouth. She was only 9 years old. read more

MUST READ: 5 YEARS POST BRACES. I can write this review on behalf of myself and my entire family. All 5 of us have had all orthodontic procedures done with Dr. Sayed dating back to about 2005. Now years out of our orthodontic work it is unfortunate to say ALL of our teeth have shifted - even after 2 or 3 sets of braces or invisalign. We have all had top and bottom permanent retainers... as suggested by Dr. Sayed. It was not until the last few years our dentists had recommended removing the retainers as our gums were beginning to degrade. I had not noticed until a later time I was the only one of my friends to have a top retainer which I then found out is not usually recommended amongst other orthodontists. I went back to Dr. Sayed post braces 5 years later (after putting on braces twice) and described my concerns with my K9s shifting and asked him about the effects of the retainer. Through another orthodontist I was informed I had an "active wire" on my teeth with which was constantly forcing its way back into a straight line thus moving my teeth. He first said it was not due to the retainer... but still recommended to take it off, which he wanted $100 per tooth the remove on top of the $300 cost to form a new removable retainer. He also said we could try to move them with a retainer, but from a second opinion I was told there was no such retainer to move teeth as he recommended. Many other reviews on here may be directly after braces, or other procedures which were amazing for all of us. It is unfortunate to pay the high amount Dr. Sayed charges and not have the same straight smile even 3-5 years later and multiple rounds of braces and invisalign for at least two of five of us. We have all since had our permanent retainers removed... at a fraction of the price. As expected, when I removed my 5 year old permanent retainer the wire returned to a straight wire and did not take the shape of my teeth at all. After reading other reviews others have mentioned the same feelings about their financing and they have avoided any criticism referencing their "5 star reviews" and these individuals must "have the wrong office" as they can not do any wrong. Also, NONE of which seem to be after years post treatment. I wish I did not have to write this review because we worked with Dr. Sayed and Shawn (who has always been beyond helpful) for so many years, but feel that I should inform anyone looking for an orthodontist and willing to pay such high prices for work that will not last long term. One person may be an accident, two a coincidence, but five may be a little harder to pass. read more

Dr. Sayed is incredible, I'd give ten stars if I could! My daughter had a difficult case where one of her "canine" teeth grew into her upper palette and rested behind her two front teeth. After having her braces put on by her previous orthodontist and undergoing surgery to gradually bring that tooth into place she went three years with ZERO results. We decided to switch orthodontists, did our own research, asked around at our own dentists office and Dr Sayed's name seemed top of the list everywhere so we booked a consultation. On our first meeting he assured us he would be able to preserve her tooth, bring it into place and eventually get her braces off. Dr Sayeds approach is confident yet gentle, he is honest and his bedside manner truly made all the difference. My daughter began referring to him as "King Sayed" (unless she had to wear the rubber bands, then he was demoted to "Prince" for a short time ) Today my daughter got her braces off and she has a PERFECTLY BEAUTIFUL smile. My son had a very typical case and was easily treated but my daughter has needed more attention. She used a device to bring her lower jaw forward. I've learned that this is something she would have had to have surgery for later down the road had it not been attended to by Dr. Sayed. He then has put braces on her and she is just about done.
