Think twice before letting this butcher touch you. I deeply regret getting my wisdom teeth extracted with him. I went in for wisdom teeth extractions and ended up getting a botched plastic surgery. I am finally leaving a review to warn others so that they don't repeat the same mistake as me. Two years ago this guy removed 3 of my wisdom teeth and it ruined my bone structure and caused a whole host of other issues. Either way, stay away. He will botch you and then gaslight you. This scammer didn't warn me that wisdom teeth removal can change your bone structure and cause functional issues such as less tongue space and ongoing bone erosion. I would have never elected to pull these damn teeth had I been warned. But this grifter would rather take the money.  After extractions, I started noticing facial changes. My chin "dropped" and my jaw started retracting in, as if it was melting into my neck. All of this happened in a matter of weeks, so I went back in to this charlatan to ask what happened. He didn't even compare my before scans to my after scans. He just told me that it's "impossible" for wisdom teeth extractions to change your structure, even though observable reality states otherwise. He just kept gaslighting me and denying. I don't know if it was malicious or if this guy is just an idiot and doesn't understand that teeth are part of the bone structure, but the fact remains: he extracted healthy teeth (two of my extracted teeth were fully erupted and weren't causing issues) for no reason, and it caused me issues.  My facial bone structure changed in a matter of MONTHS. I had a defined jaw and high-set prominent cheekbones. These extractions ruined my structure. Shortly after the extractions, my jaw started narrowing and retracting into my neck. I also noticed that my jaw rotated down and changed shape. It used to be more square, and now it's a triangle that's melting into my neck. My cheekbones also narrowed and dropped. My entire face has narrowed and become shorter. Because I lost so much of my bone structure, my skin feels loose and my facial muscles feel sore from trying to adjust to the new structure. I lost so much bone that I am starting to get deep nasolabial folds due to cheekbone narrowing. My lips have also become sunken in and narrow. My eyes have become more sunken in as well. I used to have a wide and beautiful smile, but now it has narrowed after these extractions. My face had good forward growth and was angular, but bone loss caused everything to flatten out and I lost my Watching yourself change in the mirror while there is nothing you can do about it has been one of the most grueling experiences of my life. I had a beautiful bone structure that others complemented me on, and now that's gone because this scammer wanted a couple thousands in his pocket. These changes happened in a matter of months so it's not "aging." It's also not "hormones" because I checked them as well.  I also experienced functional issues. Because my jaws shifted inside, I have less space in my mouth. My tongue feels like it is too big for my mouth and it's uncomfortable to talk now. I am walking around constantly aware of my tongue not having enough room and pushing up against my teeth. It's extremely uncomfortable and disorienting. My right jaw also started clicking after these extractions. My facial muscles also constantly feel sore, which I'm assuming is due to the bone loss and changed bone structure. I've never had these issues until these wisdom teeth extractions. After doing some research, I saw that others have experienced the same concerns after wisdom teeth extractions, yet, this grifter was gaslighting me about the effects. It's either this guy is so arrogant that he is unwilling to consider patients' concerns just because it doesn't align with what he's been taught or that he is wilfully covering up these side effects to line his pockets.  I am absolutely devastated. It's been almost two years, and I am still experiencing bone loss and discomfort. I feel like I got mutilated. I didn't have to extract my two upper wisdom teeth. They were completely healthy and fully erupted, but this scammer just told me to get them out because wisdom teeth are "useless." Biggest lie I've ever heard. Why didn't he warn me not to extract healthy teeth? Now I have to deal with the consequences. Do yourself a favor and do some research on the effects of wisdom teeth extractions. Read online stories and testimonials. See what people say about wisdom teeth extractions. Do not trust this guy. I wish I was warned about these side effects of extracting wisdom teeth, because I would have rather dealt with pain than go through this. My son had his wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Yafai a few days ago and I felt compelled to write this review because I'm so impressed by this doctor. Everything about the procedure went extremely smoothly, from initial consultation to surgery. At the consultation, Dr. Yafai spent time with us to make sure we understood what needed to be done, and what the plan was. No rushing us. He also has a lovely, warm, calm bedside manner and on the day of the procedure, he immediately put my son at ease. Before my son knew it, the procedure was over, he was in recovery, and the post-op instructions were explained clearly by his staff (along with a sheet of instructions to take home). Wisdom teeth removal isn't comfortable but my son is healing nicely and Dr. Yafai did an excellent job. He also did another minor procedure on my son a few years ago, and that went equally well. The staff is very organized, they tell you in advance what the cost will be after the insurance (so, no surprises!), and everything runs like clockwork. Dr. Yafai has been excellent. He took care of my child's wisdom teeth a couple of years ago, and did a great job. Just recently we needed him to remove the remainder of a baby tooth for my other child that the dentist couldn't remove as it was fused to the bone. Dr.Yafai made him feel very comfortable with nitrous, and allowed me to stay with him until the IV sedation kicked in. Dr. is very friendly, knowledgable, and get's the job done! SOMETHING TO BE AWARE OF: get your consult and treatment done on two separate days - I was asked by the front desk if I wanted both on one day (to which I said yes), but when I was signing everything prior to surgery, then I was informed that my insurance said they don't pay if it's same day (but she said that sometimes they do pay???). It would have been very helpful to be told this in advance, because I would not have chosen same day, I don't want to pay cash for something that should be covered. read more

I got my wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Yafai about a month ago and the whole thing went pretty smoothly. I got referred to him by my doctor and set up a consultation with him. They took some X-rays and went over what would be involved in removing them. He answered all of my questions and then I had set up my surgery day for a few weeks out. On the surgery day I was put in a room that was pretty well lit and then I woke up in what felt like seconds later and was done with the procedure. The first few days after the procedure were tough but after about 4-5 days I was pretty much back to normal. I then went in for a follow up a week after my surgery and they went over cleaning instructions and that was healing nicely. It went as smoothly as oral surgery can go. The office is clean, nice, and bright and they have easy parking in the back and they will validate. The only downside is that Dr. Yafai is the only oral surgeon at this office and they tend to book people very close together so you can be waiting for a bit to get to see him even when you're on time for your appointment. For my consultation he was running 30 behind, my surgery started 50 mins late and my follow up was 20 mins behind. My surgery was at 9AM and they had someone booked at 8:30AM which is cutting it pretty close. I understand that there is only one Dr. but if they could call you beforehand that he is running 30-50 mins behind so you can get some extra sleep, get some coffee, etc. that would be better than waiting in the waiting room. He does good work so I'd go back here if I ever needed to but just assume your appointment is going to start 30 mins late and I'd give them a call to check to see if he is running behind. read more

Performed an unnecessary and botched procedure on my friend (wherein she came out of anesthesia and then was put under again 30 minutes later) that had us at the facility for 6 hours. Went to Dr. Yafai to get my wisdom teeth extracted. Him and his staff were all very informative, nice and accommodating. The surgery itself seemed to be perfect based on my recovery. I had little to no pain and swelling personally. Following surgery they provided me with detailed aftercare instructions as well as gauze, food and eventually a syringe to wash out the wisdom tooth holes. The only negative is it can sometimes be difficult to get a call through to the office. Their phone system will automatically send you to their fax if the like is busy when you call which isn't ideal. Can't suggest this place enough. read more

I don't normally leave reviews but I figured I would just to help someone in a similar situation to me! I went to my primary health dentist a few weeks ago and was told that my wisdom teeth were growing extremely close to the nerve and that I had to have them removed ASAP. My primary dentist told me to EXPECT a few months of lasting nerve damage, if not PERMANENT nerve damage, after the removal because of the placement of the teeth, and I was terrified. I've never had surgery, anesthetic, or anything of the sort, so I figured I'd get a second opinion. I went to Yelp and sorted by highest ratings and found Dr. Yafai. I went in for a consultation, his team took a 360 xray of my face, and the whole procedure was explained to me. Dr. Yafai was extremely confident that he could remove all four wisdom teeth without any issue, and even expressed confusion at what my primary dentist had told me about to expect nerve damage. I booked my appointment for a few weeks later and left feeling very reassured. My appointment day arrived and I drove to the office with my boyfriend. He was allowed in the surgery room with me until the IV went in my arm and I was allowed to pick a Netflix show. The nurses and Dr. Yafai were all very calming even though my heart rate was reading 110 on the machine, and by the time the anesthetic was injected, I was no longer stressed. I heard the doctor say "goodnight!" and the next thing I knew I woke up with all four teeth out and no pain. They even sent me off with a goodie bag of pudding, cup noodles, and gauze, which was so sweet. It's now two days later and I have ALL feeling in my face. No nerve damage like my primary dentist told me to expect. And I'm healing quite nicely. So, if you're worried about nerve related wisdom teeth complications, look no further. The process was painless and healing time was quick. I didn't swell at all. The only thing that I had to deal with was waiting 6 months for the front office ladies to confirm my insurance, they kept trying to verify with the wrong company for some reason but I won't let that take away from Dr. Yafai's work!
