I had walked by this shop so many times and ironically, on my first trip to Amsterdam I stayed two doors down from it and never noticed it. I mentioned this to the owner and he said, which I agree, that part of the charm of Amsterdam is there are so many things here that you are constantly stumbling upon amazing shops and more every time you walk down the street. He couldn't be more right. The shop itself is so unique. I knew immediately that I would love it here. The items were cool and not like anything else I'd find while shopping. It's definitely not a tourist shop; it's not a t-shirt or postcard sort of place, but it features really cool home decor items from suspended butterflies to really cool metal displays. I knew immediately I'd find so many things I'd love and couldn't bring back to the states with me because I'd have no room and I was right, but I did find some cool metal keys to bring with me to decorate in my living room. I asked the owner if they had a story to them and he replied, "everything has a story" and that was good enough for me.

Van der Linde is one of these unremarkable shops that you hardly notice until you need something…read morespecific stationery-like. Like a foam board. Don't get mislead by the shop front, this place is huge! And it's not a stationery store (like I thought because of the display) but an artist supply (like it says on the plaque). But they've also got stationery. Only when you enter and walk around you notice how big this shop is and their assortment is HU-MUN-GOUS! I haven't seen so many different paint / acrylic brands in all my life so far. I guess Van der Linde basically has got everything that you may ever need for painting (thousands of paint tubes and brushes) or being creative with paper whatsoever. They have more different articles than you can even imagine. All kinds of paper colours and sizes, sketch blocks, maps, foam boards, books about relevant topics, a vast stationery assortment, spray, easels, and and and. Poor communication, broken promises and no proper resolution…read more My experience with Kokopelli has been extremely disappointing. My order has not arrived, and the tracking information for my parcel (LA991376500NL) has not been updated since 5 October, when it was recorded at a sorting centre in Italy. I understand that international shipping delays can happen, and I would not automatically blame a seller for a courier issue. However, the way Kokopelli has handled the situation is the real problem. I have emailed them several times requesting assistance, but my emails have gone unanswered. I then contacted them through Instagram and was told that their office would respond the following day. That did not happen either. PostNL has made it clear that the sender needs to initiate an investigation, meaning Kokopelli is the party that needs to take action. Despite this, I am still chasing them for a basic response and a clear update about what is being done to locate my parcel. It is incredibly frustrating to pay for an order and then have to repeatedly chase the company just to get a response. Mistakes and delivery problems happen, but ignoring customers and failing to follow through on promised communication is simply unprofessional. At this point, I am disappointed not only by the delivery situation but, more importantly, by the lack of customer support and accountability. I expected much better from an established webshop. I would advise other customers to consider how this company handles problems before placing an order. Good customer service matters most when something goes wrong, and Kokopelli has fallen well short of my expectations.

I was walking around in this awesome street and…read moresuddenly there was this super cute little shop that sells woman's clothing, kids clothing, jewelry and other cute stuff. They also sell the lovely brand Sugarhill boutique, a brand that I love; it has the cutest dresses, tops and sweaters, often with little animal prints on them! This little shop is filled with so much stuff so it is really great for a little treasure hunt! The prices are very high but not very cheap either so I did not buy anything yesterday (students budget!) but I will certainly be back in the future when I have more to spend! :)

Throughout many shops and even in this one, there are many ceramics look like Delft blue, but they are not. They are some cheap imitations. The highlight of this souvenir shop were real Delft blue ceramics here. We've been to Delft and purchased a small dish there, but we were fortunate enough to find it here so that we didn't have to make another special trip back to Delft. Now, there are some more affordable souvenirs like any other stores in the area. Otherwise they won't make too much money off of the tourists. However, they have some nice things including very nice wooden clogs if you are into them. It's just that it wasn't my thing.
