It was degrading and humiliating. The Dr just asks if you have questions before he starts. The shot itself was quick and easy, then the Dr walks out. It's like cattle being hearded through. I'm unimpressed. My previous Dr was much more personal and discreet. I would still be seeing him, but he left to work at the VA.

I had requested to be able to view the results when he would be explaining it to me so that I could physically see what he was talking about. I know there is the capability to pull an image for me to look at. I certainly understand time constraints, and that I am not a doctor, but I also trust what I've learned through previous experiences which have been many with the medical field & have learned the questions to ask so that I have a clear understanding and there are no surprises and that it is OK for me to be a strong advocate for myself. This is my body and I've been living in it for 60 years. He told me he can feel a patient's Achilles and know without any MRI whether they need surgery or not. I asked him if he would do an actual surgery on someone without relying on an MRI image, images or report. His answer was yes because he's been doing this for so long. That was a huge red flag to me as he continued to tell me he could diagnose it, but if I still wanted an MRI he would order it. I said yes, I still want the MRI, Also telling him that I was more than willing to pay outright for the MRI, not submitting it to insurance to expedite the process so that if this was a rupture or anything like that, I wouldn't be paying the consequences later on. Speaking to him this morning he told me he could get me into an MRI today also telling me I needed to trust the process. When I told him that I don't trust the process and why I did not due to previous experiences, he bluntly told me where I could go to see other professionals, but left the office with the agreement that he was setting up the MRI for today for me...less than five minutes later, the nurse comes in and says there are no more MRI spots available today and would not be till next week. I declined. They recommended an orthopedic shoe at $345 which can be found anywhere online & locally for under $50. No justification for the price only the comment that "we can run it through your insurance." I did not feel that this physician or Capitol Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Clive office worked in my best interest as a patient. Yet the opposite with an enormous ego. I wish I would've asked for a nurse to be present or that I would have recorded my office visit. It's situations exactly like this that make me & others not "trust the process." I immediately went to another very well known professional physician/surgeon and the experience was night and day. Extremely professional, I felt that the physician truly cared as he listened & took time to do a full examination to evaluate then promptly scheduled an MRI for me same day. I would not recommend Dr Lee or Capitol Orthopedics & Sports Medicine. I will also note that I did not seek out to complete a Google review, but was sent a link requesting a review of Dr. Lee and then completed the review requested. Update...After having an MRI it was officially determined that I did not have a Achilles tendon rupture. I shudder to think what action Dr. Lee would have taken without an MRI had I trusted him as he insisted I needed to.

When needed, he has got us referred for follow up, both within the office & in one case to a UofIA specialist. Getting MRIs scheduled has been smooth & very quick. Dr Jacobson has now done ACL reconstruction on both of my sons and couldn't be happier with the outcome. The nursing staff of both Dr Nygun & Dr Jacobson have also been great & very prompt addressing any questions/needs we have. Highly recommend!

You can also tell that the guy thinks that he is God. I followed up with his nurse after a week as I was in pain and was told that The insurance company came back and declined my MRI at least until they could talk to Doctorfish. Then they would approve. A couple days went by and I called again. His nurse sounded frustrated saying that they are waiting on Dr. fish to call the insurance company but they have relayed the message to him. Another few days went by (two weeks total) and I called again.The nurse sounding frustrated said "we are waiting on Dr. fish" and I don't know that we can help you. Basically, the nurse capitulated in trying to get Dr Fish to call the insurance company. I called the insurance company and they said the doctor never called them!!!! So, I went to another orthopedic surgeon to help. He had wasted two weeks of my time while I was in pretty severe pain. He also called me after I gave up on them and left me a message in response to my conversation with his nurse. Basically saying "I am trying to help you and just give me some time. My husband just had knee replacement surgery by Dr. Goding at Wayne County Hospital in Corydon. The…read moresurgery went well and he is very happy. When we arrived at the hospital didn't sit down because they took us immediately to his room and began normal presurgery prep. Everyone was very professional and timing each room entry when the previous pre surgery procedure was finished. Very efficient use of time so no waiting on our part. Then Kevin explained in detail what to expect. After surgery he was brought back to his room in no pain and alert enough to play online chess. We entered the hospital at 8:15 am and he was in his room, after xrays and recovery time, at noon. He followed all the rules and was moving his feet back and forth in bed. The nurses and physical therapists were very accommodating and always there when needed. When he was allowed to stand and walk hall he did very well and was in zero pain. Next morning, day 2, he was able to walk stairs and walk halls and do bathroom duties. He was cleared to go home one day after surgery. He took meds as advised at home. We wrote everything down. We don't like opioids so didn't take except Tramadol every 12 hours as needed. He's been alert and very ambulatory using a cane on day two because the walker didn't work for him. The best thing that he likes is the ice pump machine they sent home from hospital with him to keep his knee cold. He has kept the swelling down and pain down with that machine. He does have a little pain but it can be managed and he does his exercises to keep the knee moving most of the time instead of keeping it stiff. This is day three and he is surprised how well he is doing. Didn't expect it to be this good. His results may not be typical. He is 66 and plays golf and fishes tournaments so he has always been active and stayed in shape. He has put up with pain for years so he said he can put up with a little pain now while healing.
