We used to lDubai and were visiting my parents inlaw in Ottawa where we also used to live before. The quality of the frames and lenses were outstanding. These were the most comfortable progressive lenses and frames I've ever had. The technician at Nuvo customized the frames to fit me like a glove. What is even more amazing is that my frames broke a month ago and I panicked and emailed Nuvo. To my shock they said it is still under warranty. So I shipped it back only to find that there were no replacement with the same colour. The communication was as difficult due to Covid working conditions and the time zone difference. Calls were only recorded not live due to modified working circumstances . The owner Dr. Buettner kindly took it upon herself to find a solution and called around and finally managed to find another shop that had the matching colours. She then fitted the lenses and shipped back to me in Dubai. The story did not have ne here. I received the glasses and they were there tight. No one locally knew the techniques to fit this particular frame. I reluctantly contacted Dr. Buetnner and, bless her heart, she sent me detailed instruction to the technician on how to adjust the frame. Like magic , the technician here knew what to do and adjusted the frame. Thank you Nuvo and Dr. Buettner. I lived in Ottawa for over 30 years before we moved to Dubai and had several Optometrists in Ottawa during that time. I've never had such a great experience.

I was in the market for some frames but stumbled upon this Optical by accident (I was going to the…read moreDollar Tree, when I spotted this place a few stores down). I went in just to browse and was greeted by Naina, one of the Opticians. She was very nice and friendly. I tried on several frames, and found a pair that I liked, were comfortable, and suited my face. However, they looked very similar to a pair that I already own. I hemmed and hawed because while I liked them, I felt that if I was going to get new glasses, I wanted something fairly different than the pairs I already own. Naina offered to hold them for me for a week, which I thought was very nice, and it would give me some time to think about it. I decided not to get them after all, so I returned to Clearview to let Naina know, but she wasn't there that day I returned and I met Marc, one of the other Opticians. He was also very nice and friendly. He picked out a few frames for me to try on, but we both agreed that nothing really wowed us. He was also very honest in agreeing with me that the pair that I had picked out with Naina looked very similar to the pair I was already wearing, and he even said that "most people would not notice that you got new glasses if you got this pair." He did encourage me to check out their other location on Centrum, as Marc said they carry a few different styles there. Truth be told, I wasn't too optimistic that I would find anything at the other location, but felt they were so nice that I wanted to give them some business, so I asked for a quote on my contact lenses. He quoted me $20 cheaper than what my Optometrist's Office was selling them for, so I ordered 2 boxes of 90. Marc said they would be in in less than a week and the store would call me. Sure enough, a few days later the store called and I was able to come and pick up my contact lenses. They gave me 5 extra trial pairs and also a cleaning cloth for my glasses. They are family run, everyone there is so nice, and their prices are good. I would certainly recommend Clearview for glasses and contacts (I actually ended up buying my glasses at their other location. I wrote a separate review for that). This Innes Road location is in the strip mall that Food Basics and Dollar Tree is in. Near the cinema. Lots of free parking.

I was going to go the "order of the Internet" route; because all the prices seemed so good. But,…read morewhen I really compared my prescription and what I wanted from the lenses (anti-glare, light-weight, occupational progressive lens, blocking the short-wave length, "blue" light emitted from computer monitors) the costs just kept adding up; and I would have had to "guess" at the PD values. So I checked out Yelp looking at the Ottawa eyewear reviews and came across Jennifer P's review. So I checked out Lunetterie Clearview Eyewear's website. The fact that they did not offer 2 for 1 pricing and had frames for a reasonable price caught my eye. So on the Saturday I went to Lunetterie Clearview Eyewear's Innes Road location. Right off the bat Lysanne was great. I asked about reusing my frames and she called the optician - Nathalie to check. Did you know that the lenses for rimless frames cost more? Who knew- Nathalie did. I was all about the prescription and not about the frames. Lysanne and I spent a good 1/2 hour at the 29.00 frames rack looking for something that looked good. We set aside about 4 pair and then Nathalie and I discussed the pros and cons for each given the type of lenses I wanted and my prescription. I finally chose and awesome pair of frames (made in Belgium). Nathalie then "worked her magic" and got the lenses with my prescription into a price range I could afford. Placed the order right then and there! Within a week my eyeglasses were in; and I'm wearing them as I write this post. Can't say enough about Lysanne, Nathalie and Lunetterie. Thank you!

I bought glasses from Clearview recently and had a great experience. I actually went to their…read moreother location on Innes Road first, and was referred to this Centrum location when I couldn't find anything at the other location. When I walked in, I was greeted by Marie, who I believe is a sales associate there. She was very nice and friendly and picked out a lot frames for me to try. She was very honest in her opinions. They had a lot of pretty frames there, and a good selection of funky/different/unusual styles. We actually narrowed it down to 3 frames, 2 that we both liked and 1 that Marie thought looked great on me, but I wasn't all that convinced; it was a slight cat eye frame, which was a huge departure from my usual style. Marie said we should wait and see what Marc says, as he was scheduled to come in shortly. Marc is one of the Opticians (and was the one I met at the Innes location who referred me to the Centrum location). When Marc arrived, he told me that the cat eye frame would not work for me because my prescription is high and since the arm was narrow and set high on the frame, it would expose the thickness of the lens and look unattractive from the side. He also said that one of the other frames we selected was a little "too busy" with all the squiggly lines on the side. So I ended up going with the remaining frame, which was the one I liked best anyway. Marc was very meticulous in getting the frames to fit my face correctly, making several adjustments. He was also meticulous with all the measurements, using the equipment, but also double-checking manually. When it comes to my eyes, I like this kind of perfectionism! He was very professional, and instilled a sense of trust, and at the same time was also friendly. When I finally got my glasses, they were great. Marc made a few final adjustments and I was good to go. Marc even gave me a case with funky geometric designs on it, a cleaning cloth and a bottle of lens cleaner. I have to admit, I was really nervous about buying my glasses at a new place (I had been going to the same optical in Toronto for the last 25 years), but I am 100% satisfied with the service and product I got at Clearview. I'm so glad I found this place. I will be going here for all my glasses and contact lenses from now on! This location is in the Centrum strip mall. The store fronts onto St. Joseph (but is separated from St. Joseph by a large parking lot). There is a lot of free parking.

I just didn't like him - bad vibes. He told me in 2009 that I would need cataract surgery within two years. I told him I would definitely need a general anesthetic for that. He said "you'll just be given something to calm you down." NOT acceptable to me, I'm extremely squeamish about my eyes. He was condescending, "pat pat", don't worry, you'll be given something to relax. That sent me to my dr. for anti-anxiety meds. He referred me to an ophthalmologist in 2010 who said he had NO idea why I was told that and that he didn't think I'd need anything done for at least 10 years. I suspect - but I COULD be wrong - that Brown and others like him get kickbacks from eye surgeons. Stay away.
