The entire staff at the office is super nice and everyone is amazing with the kids! They make the kids feel super comfortable there. At the end of every visit, my daughter loves being able to pick out a lil toy from their toy bin. Scheduling an appointment is easy. They do get booked out quite often so try to schedule everything in advance. They have a great reminder system as well - email & text so you'll never forget an appointment.

I left Anchorage Midtown Dental disgusted that kids crying and in dental pain is not emergent unless you pay their appointment fee upfront. In my situation it was only $150, but to only get told that they were going to refer us to a Pediatric Dentist and the xrays the dental assist took were "worthless" because they did not even get the entire tooth/roots so I had to have them redone when I went to Kids Dental Tree and pay for the xrays and exam.... again. I am in the Medical field, and was very disappointed that this is the kind of Dental care out there and especially when it comes to my child. I do not have insurance for my daughter, and during this stressful time of my daughters dental Emergency I knew it was going to cost me quite a bit of cash. Dr Keller was understanding of my daughters dental needs, our families financial situation, and provided my daughter with outstanding care. I would definitely recommend him to others, and trust him with my daughters dental needs again in the future.

Alaska Dentistry for Kids definitely deserves their 5 stars!…read more They are located on Huffman on the 2nd floor of a medical building that sits directly next to Carrs Huffman. Their waiting area is bright, open, and clean. But also includes lots to keep the kiddos occupied. Their entire office is covered in glass windows that allow you to see the beautiful Anchorage back drop whenever you wish. I have taken my neurodivergent kids to Alaska Dentistry a few times now. We are always welcomed, kept in the loop, and dental services performed are thorough yet fast. Recently, I made an appt for all (3) of my kids to be seen at the same time, and we were in and out in less than an hour. We SO appreciate that. One of my kids has high support needs and is non-verbal. I love how both the dental assistants and doctors are able to work with and around this. Keeping everyone comfortable but also informed. Dr. Copeland has a great sense of humor and he's great at what he does. His protege Dr. Cody is thee best! Dental assistants: Ryan, Felix and Gerianne are phenomenal. Alaska Dentistry is a bit of an all-inclusive. They do sedations here (our next experience), and even Invisalign! Highly recommend!

Even though his dental assistant mentioned during the appointment she WOULD have pain and to treat with ibuprofen or tylenol. Then at her second appointment "Dr". Coplin told her he didn't need her "attitude" because she was expressing where her obvious pain was when he asked. She was crying and ended up leaving. Learn to treat your patients with respect and trust that when they say they're in pain, they are. What reason do you think a 12 year old had to lie about her mouth being in pain?? Disgusting behavior. While we highly praised and recommended you guys before this, we will never think to do so again. For a place specializing in child care, this is no place to bring your child.

My oldest daughter was okay with everything up until they used the suction to take out the water and extra things from her mouth, but they made her feel comfortable even though she was crying. They stopped for a little while and when she was ready to continue they continued what they were doing. And my youngest was not having it, she was crying the whole time, but the hygienist was wonderful and patient. Not once did any of them showed that they were irritated. I'm glad that I chose to come here (we are fairly new to AK). Dr. Foster was great, she explained everything about my two girls teeth and made my girls feel comfortable. I wish I got both hygienist names, but I didn't . But I would recommend seeing Dr. Foster. They also sent this wonderful card after the visit, and they even drew the pictures. It really shows how important we are as clients to them and that we aren't just another dollar to them.

The procedure went well received a bill for $200 . The billing department wouldn't work with me at all, matter of fact she threw away 15 years the future service over $200 she claimed that the $200 was for sedation and management for a 30 minute visit that I never received a phone call back from them to see if my son was even OK after the visit BTW this was his first time being sedated . I don't understand what management means. But I'm sure a phone call to see if he's OK is involved . Basically their billing department is NOT willing to work with you whatsoever on anything and I do not recommend going there there are many of other pediatric dentist in anchorage that will work with your billing that doesn't want to lose your services for 15 years . In addition to the woman on the phone was rude inconsiderate to my needs and try to brow beat me by saying it was my fault by signing this estimation paperwork. What's the point of having estimation paperwork when they're not going to live up to their end of the bargain ? I talked to my insurance company and they told me it was the way that they coded the bill was the issue I asked her to code it in a different way using the word sedation only not sedation management she said she was not going to do that. I asked to talk to the doctor or the owner so we could work something out she refused to let me do so. It's not the $200 it's the principal at this point.I am challenging the $200 with my insurance company writing a letter and having to fax it in etc.

My hygienist, Melissa, did a slew of x-rays and Dr. Ryan did an exam. He took care to explain to me what he was doing and what he was looking for. Then he explained in laymen's terms to me what he thought the issue might be and what we could do about it, which included opting for a mouth guard before a crown. It was noteworthy to me, as a professional woman that during his exam the hygienist (Melissa) flagged something she noticed in my x-rays that she was concerned about. He responded to her politely and complimented the job she did with my x-rays. I appreciate they have a professional environment where staff are welcome collaborate in patient care. I really appreciated that the Dr. Ersland made sure I understood what was going on with my teeth and my options and didn't just try and make a buck. Glad to have found my dentist in Anchorage. P.S. Melissa did a solid job too and we had a great time swapping hunting and fishing stories throughout my cleaning.
