Music Go Round - Yamaha TRBX604FM from Music Go Round

It appeared much larger- did they take over another space?- there was significantly more used stock, and the staff was significantly more helpfu and friendly. I spent perhaps 30-45 minutes playing several new and used classical guitars. I hadn't actually planned to buy a guitar that day but I ended up purchasing a used Ramirez that I thought was the best sounding one in the store. I'll certainly be back.

I had a great experience at Music Go Round. This was the only store within 100 miles of me that had…read morea particular instrument I was interested in, a Yamaha 604FM. I called them the day prior and spent 17 minutes on the phone talking to an employee that took a lot of time to go over all the details and history of the instrument, then plugged it in and played it for a while before coming back to give me their assessment. The employee had a great attitude and provided incredible customer service. He offered to put it on hold so I could check it out, and the next day I drove over an hour to check it out. Upon parking outside the store I noticed a few bad reviews for the store, so after getting my hands on the bass I point blank asked all the employees about those reviews, which I know was unexpected and jarring. Without taking offense they addressed all of those reviews and the supposed issues for an extended period of time, and after hearing their side and being a good judge of character, I was completely put at ease. I traded in my old bass and got a price that was higher than I was expecting. They are very transparent about how they price and pay out for used instruments. I felt it was more than fair, and I put the trade in value towards the Yamaha. As i said, I live far from there, so I knew going in if I had ANY concerns I would leave without the bass, because problems would mean a 2+ hour round trip to deal with them, but I truly felt like I was getting a great deal from good people. If anything happens down the line I will update the review, but for now, 5 stars, great experience.

And, one word in particular comes up again and again: FABULOUS! My husband and I could not agree more! We were paired up with our DJ, Abay Israel, by DJ DC Productions. Before we even talked about music, Abay wanted to talk about us. We met with him well in advance of our event, and the majority of our one-hour meeting focused on my husband and I as a couple, who we are as people, who are friends are, who will be attending the wedding, and the overall feel that we want to create. In discussing our needs for ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, Abay was extremely knowledgeable about our venue and what type of sound amplification we would need. After our initial meeting, we kept in communication with Abay via phone and email, and we felt comfortable and confident that we were in very capable hands. Additionally, he communicated in advance directly with our ceremony musicians to arrange their sound needs as well, which I consider another mark of DJ DC Production's professionalism and service. When discussing our goals for the evening, we made one thing clear: We wanted a party! Abay delivered just that and so much more!! We provided song suggestions via the DJ website, but when it came down to it, Abay read the crowd and delivered on every level - Keeping the crowd dancing and pumping them up with the help of his hype man, Jamall Bufford. I would recommend Abay, Jamall, and the DJ DC Productions crew to anyone looking for a fantastic and professional DJ! I wish we could live that night over again! - - It was truly a BLAST! THANK YOU, DJ DC Productions!

They communicate well with the client, other vendors and with each other. The day of the event was smooth and the reception was just plain fun. My daughter and son-in-law loved them, my husband and I loved them and our guest loved them. Their website is great and they help you pick the music for different stages of the event. Then once the music for entrances, formal dances, etc. were picked with left the rest up to the professionals and we were not disappointed. These guys know how to read a crowd and keep the party going. If you what to have a great party that your guest will be talking about well after the event I suggest you hire DJ DC Productions, LLC.

Ann Arbor Amplifier - Big heavy amplifier front

This review is based only on my experience with Frank's repair. Be warned…read more I built a tube amplifier from a Mojotone kit and despite triple checking all assembly steps when I fired it up (unplugged) was created with very loud buzzing which increased in volume with increase in amp gain controls. After frustrating review of every assembly step and verification that there were no cold solder joints or bad grounds I gave up and decided to have trouble shooting done by a certified amp tech. Frank is an elderly gentleman who works out of a very poorly lit and cluttered small apartment. I should have known better but I was anxious to get my project up and running. Now Frank's terms are $100 minimum and repair work not to exceed $150 without owner permission. Seemed fair so I handed over $100. Six days later Fank advised the amp was repaired with a balance owed of $200. The rationale was that he spent six hours totally rewiring the amp at $50/hour. He never advised me that the repair would in fact exceed the $150 "not to exceed" stated in my order. Nor did I ever ask Frank to undo all of my work and re-wire it. All I requested was for him to troubleshoot it and correct the issue. He does not have an oscilloscope so another red flag that should have had me running for the hills. It's my belief that Frank could not diagnose the problem so he decided to re-wire the whole thing. A good amp tech should have been able to pinpoint the cause of the buzzing without going to the extreme of rewiring everything. When I arrived at his apartment to check out the repair I plugged in a guitar and immediately noted that the loud buzzing was gone but there was a very noticeable hum which got louder with increase in amp gain. Frank said "oh it wasn't doing that when I checked it out". I unplugged the guitar and hum remained. Frank implied it was normal and I should expect that at high gain with a vintage tube amp circuit. I question Frank about the $300 charge without my consent and he said because he has sent me a text with a picture of the work in progress that should have sufficed as my approval since I did not say stop. I paid him the additional $200 thinking that the hum was perhaps environmental electro magnetic interference. I got the amp chassis home and installed it in the cabinet but the objectionable hum did not go away. I contact Monotone tech support and they advised that a properly built kit is dead quiet except for maybe some tube hiss at max gain settings. Frank's paperwork stated that the repair had a thirty day warranty. When I called him out on this he refused to do any further work on my amp and he said the he got it working and he was not about to but any more unpaid repair time in it. He said "you gave me an amp that had no output, it works now and hum was not the issue. It's your project, welcome to the world of electronics. Figure it out buddy" I decided to troubleshoot the hum. I discovered a cold solder joint connected to pre-amp tube V1 and that Frank had mis-wired the center tap from the power transformer. I removed that wire from the wrong location on the circuit board and soldered it in its correct location. Hum gone. Amp dead quiet even at max gain settings. I highly recommend that you think twice about using Ann Arbor Amplifier for amp repair.

He loved it but suddenly it stopped working. What to do? Shipping is expensive and hazardous. I found Bartsonics on Craigslist a few blocks from the customer. A local to check it out, perfect! The customer had told me that the only repair place there quoted him a six month wait to even look at the amp. He didn't know about Bartsonics. The next day, yes, the next day, not six months later, Bartsonics had checked the unit out and a verdict was in. The amp was perfect. No issues at all. The customer was the issue. That solved it for me. If not for Bartsonics I was on the hook for everything, big return shipping, whatever, it was on me. As it was, I was in the clear. They saved me. Thank you Bartsonics.
