I plan on spending much more time in the pool I can't wait to check out the other facilities. The building is huge way bigger than it looks from the outside. What I found immensely impressive was the equipment room. It just kept going on and on so many machines.(2 Floors) The CENTER is immensely, clean and organized, I can't wait to jump in with both feet and taking an art class, or perhaps join in a community event . My mother used to belong here and my cousin used to work here years ago and I hope I can get as much fulfillment as they did .

Though, in the recent year, life got a little complicated, and thus it's been a while. Not wanting to fight the continuous Boston traffic, I decided to give Boston Bowl - Hanover a try. It was quiet on a Saturday afternoon - it was tax free weekend, so everyone was likely out shopping. I'd brought my own shoes and ball, though there seemed to be plenty of different house balls available (though during busy times, your mileage may vary). The lanes were well oiled, the automatic scoring did not give me any trouble, and there were no malfunctions that needed an attendant. The facility was modern, with large screens (Spongebob was on), and music loud enough to be heard, but not approaching a metal concert (again, Saturday afternoon vs Friday night is likely a different experience). There's just one little thing: a bit of sticker shock. When I was a kid bowling with dad, it cost under $4 a string, maybe $4.25 during a popular time. Here, it was $8.50 per string [Fri. 5pm - Sun. Close]. I fully understand that it has been 20 years, yet, $25 for one person bowling for 15 minutes still seems a bit steep. Consider: if I had brought three friends we'd be be looking at over $100.

I've been with Eric for almost two years now, and still go weekly!…read more For me, it all comes down to this: Every time I workout with Eric, I feel better and my body moves better. His style is somewhere between physical therapy and master personal training. He evaluates what's working well for your body, and what's not, and then builds a program. For example, he took a video of me doing a simple squat. Don'cha know my left knee was splaying WAAAYY out to the left, like a dog chasing a squirrel? I never noticed because I'm too busy trying not to fall the F over! So, we did some exercises for my hips and butt, and voila, the knee is at least sorta staying in line. And, he gave me homework, to keep improving. :) If you're a "desk jockey" and/or spend a lot of time sitting, like me, you should definitely check out Eric. If you want to build muscle, improve flexibility, or just get a great workout, he's your man. Personal training is definitely an investment but for me it's the only way I feel I really benefit from working out. I was until recently a member of BSC on Newbury, simply because of location. I hadn't been there since July, went to cancel my membership and of course they need 30 days notice, so they were "nice" enough to prorate the remainder of my month and only charge me $51 instead of $59 and continue to tell me my membership is good through November something, even though I reiterated I haven't used their gym since July and won't be back so stop explaining this to me. I guess they need the 30 days notice so they can anticipate cleaning the machines just a little less since I am cancelling my valuable membership. Anyways, back to the good. Eric is great. I did the complimentary movement assessment and mini-workout with him. My previous personal trainer was female so I was somewhat anxious that I would be intimidated working out with a guy but Eric was awesome. Made me comfortable from the start. He has a decent sized studio right near Copley Square. I was able to listen to my own choice of music and work out in complete privacy, knowing that I could screw up, ask questions, etc as we went along and not have to worry about the meatheads judging me. It was great. We talked about my fitness goals, nutrition, etc. It was so great that I booked a 30 session package with him. I was able to reason with myself to make this investment because previously I paid my trainer the same amount that I would have paid if I did hour sessions with her instead of half hour sessions, plus I don't have to pay a monthly gym membership and get complete privacy. I'm really looking forward to working out three times a week with Eric and building some muscle while toning my core. Highly recommend checking it out!

Most tickets are $15 and is more or less open seating. The play is fast and furious and the crowd is made up mostly of young lacrosse players and their families. Really good concessions featuring Redbones BBQ as well as some killer chicken tenders and fries and the usual assortment of stadium/carnival food. The production values are great from the video packages to the dance team to the guy firing cannon shots for every Cannon goal. I'd call it more family oriented then a "guy's night out" kind of experience as there are all sorts of interactive displays before the game sponsored by many lacrosse vendors and the like. The only real negative is the annoying local DJ acting as MC for the twice a quarter contests etc. I know this pays the bills but gosh, it slowed things down and I wanted to head for a beer every time I head this dude open his mouth. All and all a great, reasonable night over at Harvard Stadium and worth checking out
