Lined up outside of the Hauptbahnhof (train central station), many companies will compete for your custom. Expet some compete harder than others. The first bus we approached was wanting to charge us 6EUR for a seven month old baby! The second company, Blaue Linie, didn't, so we went with them. The tour takes about one hour 45 minutes and will take you along the new Speicherstadt, Landungsburcken (harbour), the Reeperbahn, the Rathaus (city hall), the posh parts of Hamburg with houses to die for and the Alster. The tour guide will do the commentary in English if you ask at the start. Very interesting. Only knocked a star off coz the seats weren't that comfortable!

The boat is fairly comfortable, the driver was very nice and the German part of his tour that I could understand was funny and informative. The audio guide was good for English, French, Spanish, and a dialect of Chinese. A map was also included in the mini-computer which was fun to look at. The tour itself is really interesting and this part of Hamburg is beautiful. I found this boat tour to be more interesting than the harbor tour. They also laid on drinks for us on the boat. After touring around Wilhelmsburg for a while we stopped at a beer garden for some food (see my review of Zum Anleger (http://www.qype.co.uk/place/169353-Zum-Anleger-Hamburg) ).
