Our table-mate really enjoyed the fried calamari plate. My wife and I shared a house salad (the artichoke hearts were a nice touch) and a Cuatro Gusti pizza - nicely topped with a light, thin crust - oozing with yummy goodness! We had a four course meal and the best ever red wine that I've had so far in our two week stay in Sicily. However, please note you wine snobs, I am not a wine connoisseur. All I care about is this red wine did not bother my temperamental stomach. It went down so smoothly that my friend Laura and I finished two bottles in a space of two hours. I think the sulfites were low and the wine was not pasteurized so overall, it was tummy friendly. The four course meal that we had was also to die for!!! I accidentally poured some of the wine into my olive tapenade dip, and dare I say that it actually elevated it. I dipped more than my share of crusty bread. Additionally, for this chicken averse Yelper, their roast chicken was the best that I've had in decades. It was moist , flavorful and did not have that horrible chicken y scent that accompanies GMO, overly growth hormone injected chicken served all over the world. It tasted like real to goodness chicken. The almond butter dessert was also very very delicious. It was so delicious that my friend Laura was literally licking her plate.
