My go to spot when I am craving mariscos and fresh ceviche. Do not forget about the delicious Michelada they have here, very refreshing. Food is good here, but the service can sometimes lack. El viejon is epic. Seriously legend amongst us. If you're from Sinaloa or want authentic seafood this is THE BEST. Scallops are my favorite food, and so viejon has the best . I've been coming here for over ten years and it doesn't skip a beat it's always so fresh and tasty. Phenomenal truly deserves a Michelin star. I die for their callo de hacha they get it weekly from Mexico. You can taste the preparation style is super authentic too with fresh chiltpetin Chile truly the best . I really don't understand all the hype is about. I have been there twice and both times I have had a bad experience. First time I took my father in which we were Unable to have a conversation. Music is way too loud for a family restaurant since they don't have a dance floor. The second time, they were very busy and we waited and waited for our food to come. When it arrived, items were missing. After asking our waiter the items she said oh you didn't order anything for your mom. I said I didn't but she did, she ordered the same thing I did. Called for a pickup order at 11:30am to be picked up at 12:20pm. Arrived at 12:30pm, and my food was still not ready. Even though I called 3 times to confirm my order and the price the food was still made incorrectly. I ordered Shrimp Ceviche and they charged me for Fish Ceviche. I waited for an additional 40 minutes and only had two people check in with me during this time. I didn't receive my food until 1:40PM meanwhile people coming in after me received their orders first. Make sure when you order you speak loudly and clearly, and double check everything these people are insanely unprofessional and unprepared. They need additional training ass all the servers were crashing into each other and didn't look like they knew what to do. There is another mariscos place across the street. I will be sure to try out Mariscos El Moreno before I ever come here again. read more

Heard this place is good. So I dropped in to order pick up. I ordered a large Campechana and Shrimp Cocktail. Boy you get a lot of shrimp and food! No skimping here! I've been visiting this restaurant for YEARS! This restaurant used to be absolutely amazing, the customer service used to be unmatched and the food obviously delicious. Except this last time that I visited the restaurant, it was anything BUT amazing. This was the WORST experience I have has with this restaurant and I refuse to spend my hard earned money at an establishment that allows this kind of behavior from their servers. I walked in with my husband and NO ONE greeted us, NO ONE said "Good Afternoon, Seat Yourself, or even Well be right with you" then we just went to sit down assuming we had to seat ourselves, then we weren't presented with menus NOR were we greeted even as we sat down. 2 separate groups of customers walked in and got seated got their menus and were given a basket of tostadas. All me and my husband got were bad looks and ignored completely. Then we pressed the button on the table that said call for service and the servers got upset. She took our order with such and attitude and she kept starring me down and I kept watching her as she would go to the register and she would point to our table and give bad looks. Obviously I got under her skin for pushing a button on the table that said call for service. I don't know if this server had a bad day or bad experience with a previous customer but taking it out on another person and making it personal that way really just seems utterly disrespectful. This young woman represents the face of El Viejon and the fact that she treated us that way made us realize this restaurant has gone downhill. It could just be this experience, but I'll be taking my money elsewhere. I didn't raise concern to the manager nor to the server. I didn't want to ruin her day more and then they continue with their rude and disrespectful behavior to others. We decided to leave before anything escalated and got even worse. I wasn't going to pay to be disrespected. I hope this restaurant continues to serve the community and I hope the servers realize they are the face of this restaurant. read more
