Stopped here to eat and food was okay. I had a carne asada taco and honestly it was not good. It tasted bland and it had a lot of fat, also the tortilla was very dry. I also ordered the breaded shrimp plate and it was good. We did feel a bit weird about the place since we were the only ones in the restaurant. Not to mention the chips that they give you when you first sit down were stale. There are not many options on their nonalcoholic menu. read more

Passed by many times and finally decided to go. They have primarily fish and I am Not a fish eater. Restaurant did not smell Fishy at all! Casual interior. Felt Like they have dedicated locals. In our party people ordered the shrimp cocktail, asada tacos & fish tacos. The person who had the shrimp Cocktail was not impressed, prefers another restaurant. The tacos had great reviews. Tried the tostada Loca which was a mix of everything (fish, shrimp, scallop, mussels, octopus, and one oyster). It was really good - had a spice/flavor that I'm not really familiar with so I couldn't pinpoint it but will definitely be back to have it again. Got the gobernador shrimp taco and a fish taco. The shrimp taco was delicious, and I can't wait to have it again. It is served with the tortilla grilled on the outside, melty cheese, shrimp, bell peps and onions. The fish taco was deep fried with cabbage and some kind of sauce. It was good also but I was hoping for a grilled fish taco instead - we might have just ordered the wrong one though. All in all, definitely will be going back. Service was pretty good and price was as reasonable as it can be with sea food in the Central Valley. Oh and chips and salsa to start are delicious! You MUST try this restaurant!! I have no words to describe how surprised and good the food here is! I felt like I was eating in my friends home, you could taste the love in every bite. The layers of flavor are unlike any Mexican restaurant I've ever been to. The service was good and the place is quaint, not fancy but welcoming. I had the shrimp Al La Diabla and the heat snuck up on you but not in a overwhelming bad way. My daughter had the shrimp and octopus cocktail and my husband had the Vericruzana. Both are incredible. Mariscos El Malecon is my go to seafood place, period. The grilled fish tacos make Rubios taste like a cheap imitation. Tostada Mixtos are gigantic portions of shrimp, scallops, and fish that are a complete meal in themselves. The Helpy was also recommended. It is an amazing blend of a creamy seafood dish unlike any I ever had. It pinged my taste-o-meter to 11! Make sure you use the supplied lemons to refresh your taste buds or give extra dimension to your experience. Prices are waaay reasonable, and ambiance is both lively and intimate. After reviewing the menu, I wasn't sure which order of "Agua Chiles" to choose from and when I asked the waitress, she explained the difference between the three and shared her suggestions, which I appreciated. I opted for the "Agua Chiles Negros" and oh my goodness, so soooo good. Very spicy, but good! Unfortunately, they were out of Aguas Frescas, but I'm wondering if they are mainly a weekend availability considering business might be slow throughout the week? Best shrimp quesadilla i've ever had. we've been here twice now, and the food/service/ambiance is great. the portions are great, and the staff are super attentive and personable. both times we've been in, the owner has come over to chitchat and ask us how we liked everything. La campechana no tenia nada de sabor tuve que pedir Clamato y prepararla por casi cinco minutos agregándole sal, salsa y Clamato porque no tenia nada de sabor. Los aguachile se entregaron con casi nada de jugo y crudos. Entiendo que los aguachiles no son precocidos pero usualmente se van cociendo en el limon al comer pero no tenia casi nada de jugo tuve que pedir también limon aparte para agregarle. Decided to give this place a try for some father's day seafood. It seems to be relatively new and was not busy for lunch. Lots of seating available. Nice atmosphere. Prompt and polite service. They served a nice fish soup, which is a nice touch, along with chips and salsa. We tried the fried snapper which was excellent, shrimp ceviche tostada, and garlic fish tacos which were all great. The tacos were on paper thin tortillas, with four pieces of thick fried breading on the shrimp. The actual shrimp were very small and overcooked. The taco had a cabbage filling with a white mayonnaise tasting sauce squirted in the top. My friend had a garlic shrimp taco and that arrived grilled. After reading a few nice reviews, I was curious about the seafood served here. Once there, I ordered the 7-seas Mariscos and my wife ordered a carne asada (beef) taco. When the food arrived the taco was served with just chopped beef served on corn tortillas without any lettuce or cabbage nor was there any garnish mix, not even pico de gallo. I love seafood but I was disappointed that the seafood contents in the Mariscos were so small I couldn't recognize the tiny scallops, tiny pieces of octopus, and tiny pieces of fish with the exception of 3 pieces of medium sized shrimp and 2 shell-on muscles, and 1 oyster. The broth was poorly seasoned and not worth eating. I ordered flour tortillas but was served corn tortillas instead. Overall, I thought the food was not worth the price and will not go back again.
