Mariposa Nursery is about an hour drive from my house, but it is worth the drive. Great people. And the plant selection is incredible.

I used to hate this place because of their lack of customer service until I met Ashley. She was a little ray of sunshine and I never saw her without a huge smile on her face. Literally the best and she helped me do my entire property. Imagine my disappointment on my last trip there in finding out they let her go. That kid (sorry, young lady) was the ONLY reason I continued to shop there. You guys not only lost an incredible, knowledgeable, and KIND employee, but now you've lost yet another customer. I will now be shopping wherever she ends up at because she is THAT GOOD! I will never recommend Mariposa to anyone. Yall need to know when to keep good people and fire the bad ones. What a beautiful place! So many great plants to choose from. We had a bit of a hiccup when told they had black olive trees in stock over the phone, but actually were not available once we arrived. I can't give enough props to the super nice manager who made things right for us. Best prices I've seen on shady lady trees, and they are really healthy and vigorous. Great selection of plants, shrubs, pots, gardening supplies and even a cool gift shop for indoor and outdoor decor. Our arborist and landscaper also bought our entire landscape here, as they actually had inventory. He finds the wholesale staff super friendly and helpful. All three stars are for inventory content and the woman in the gift shop. Sadly, and it is a recurring review theme, the staff at retail are unfriendly, and need to be asked for help even as they stand around chatting with each other. Not a s smile to be found. No masks. They seem like they hate their job. This is a problem from the top down. Hopefully they get the message and fix it. read more

The kids and I have been on the hunt for indoor plants. Been to two different ones before yelping Mariposa. We drove in and I was in heaven... we headed straight to the gift shop. It was so whimsical inside, reminded me of my fav nursery Merrifield in Fairfax, Va. Can't believe I wasted my time at other replaces. Bought an urn and a few indoor plants. The urn was pricy but plants are very reasonable and very healthy looking. A heavy down pour kept us inside. Planning on coming back already for perennials. Our landscaping needs color so will be back for FLOWERS soon!!! Staff were pleasant. One guy walked us over to the other building with a huge umbrella. How sweet! Let me start by saying that Mariposa has the best and most selections in flowers. It's a hike for me but always worth it. I bought VERBENA ground cover in pink and I bought six, planted them and they are doing great. Needed six more, went out and they had none. I called the next weekend and they said they had them. When I arrived they did not have the pink but they did have the purple that did not look that great. I was told once they were planted they would do fine. I bought them and came home and planted them the next day. They have never done great or fine, they are struggling. I called to see what the policy was for returns, boy was I surpised! They have to be in the orginal container and orginal state that you bought them. What?? Who buys a plant to keep in the orginal conatainer? I think this is poor customer service. I said that to the girl that I was talking to but she did not care. I have bought plants that were healthy and did not last and I ate them because it was on me. These plants were not looking great and I bought them because I needed them and was told that they would be okay once planted. Well lesson learned, if they look like they are struggling to begin with then I should not waste my money. That is how I feel. This is my favorite nursery. I enjoy working with Kathy as she really knows her plants. I redid our entire front yard and new pool landscaping using all Mariposa plants and trees. I was there today, had to ask for help. One sales person was actually sweeping debris onto my feet while I asked for help. Finally, when I was ready to check out, again I had to ask for help for someone to write me up. No response, no eye contact, I tried to help her count, she basically told me she didn't need my help. So glad we found this place! The Mrs and I had been at one of the Big Box Stores and walked around their garden center only to be disappointed at the limited selections and dying plants on clearance. So I yelped up a nursery and garden center and found Mariposa. We jumped into the truck and off we went on a cold rainy day figuring no one would be out walking around on a day like today. Boy were we wrong. We pulled in and were instantly amazed at how many covered areas there were there. We parked and walked around and quickly realized that we were only a 1/3 of the way to the parking lot and outdoor show room area. This was just the growing areas and they were pretty full and went on for the length of a football field in both directions. Once we made it to the show room area we were amazed at all of the different plants, shrubs, flowering trees, vases and so much more I can't remember. We were overwhelmed. We worked with an nice woman who spent a lot of time talking the the Mrs which is a difficult task when she has only 3 options to choose from but now the possibilities were endless. Needless to say this place wasn't just packed with nature's beauty but also staff and people. Why more than I thought I'm we would see on a cold rainy day in Florida. Ok, that's a bit of hyperbole but truth be told the choices here at Mariposa Nursery ARE quite extensive, and you just might try and create your own little piece of paradise after visiting this awesome arboretum. Yikes! We were in the market for some trees and landscaping pieces to fill in and were ready to buy today. We were so excited and all smiles. The person who assisted us outside was shockingly rude, terribly condescending, and had the absolute worst attitude in general. Plus, she rolled her eyes any time we asked a question. Although there was a great selection and there were many things we would have purchased, we decided not to give this place our business based on the horrible attitude that is clearly abundant here. This is without a doubt, the most beautiful and well stocked nursery in our area. They are constantly bringing in new and exciting plants every time we go visit! We have gotten some very rare variety of cactus to start our cactus garden, as well as succulents I've never even seen before! Their succulent green house is the biggest I've seen! They even have a green house/garden center for hanging plant varieties like pothos, air plants, bromeliads, as well as monstera, etc. You will NOT be disappointed going here! Wow! Clean, organized by color & size, space between pots & plants. Every soil and additive, gravel, mulch imaginable. Gadgets I've not seen elsewhere (the Upsy-Daisy is genius, along with various plant stands) - but note their unique inventory comes with a price across all their products. Two stars because the plants and trees are plentiful and seem really nice. However the staff is so cold and unhelpful. Everybody except the young man who helped load things into my car had a sour look on their face and acted like they were just put out. I asked the young man why and he said "because everybody's in a bad mood today, nobody wants to work." Spent over $1000 in one month there. The landscaper missed picking up a $5.00 plant around Thanksgiving. Told the landscaper we would take care of it, because there were other plants we wanted to buy. Nursery closed over Thanksgiving, no problem. Went back this week and explained. Manager said "too bad", more than a month gone by (didn't want to hear why). For $5.00 made us feel like cheats. Took the additional plants and pots that we were planning on purchasing and left them there. read more
