What a great opportunity to learn from a gifted dog whisperer in our area. 16 years ago, I adopted…read morea love bug who turned out to be high energy, fearful of separating from me, super smart and endlessly exuberant. A classic Australian Cattle Dog with a big ole loyal loving heart to his mum and ready to go at a moments notice to swim, hike, play, work in the yard, defend his home ground, alert to sounds, use his brain and rebound with brief breaks after hours of activity. Gail gently trained me and my pup to learn how to build self confidence, listen to each others needs, work through fears, quirks and stay tuned into each other so we could enjoy our lifetime together. We began our work after a test over night stay at her kennel that would of tried anyone's patience. My pup jumped two of her fences, chewed through many comfort toys and blankets, barked non stop through 2 citronella collars and was an anxious fearful mess when I picked him up. With Gail's vast knowledge base, patience, kind heart and gifted talent and experience, she built my pups esteem to a point where he could stay with her doggies during my out of town trips and get along with other doggies. He learned manners and boundaries with other dogs. We learned to listen to each other at all times in all circumstances or distractions and he kept his lovey, happy, joyful, stubborn, exuberant original personality and self in tact. MySham is a hidden gem in our neighborhood and well worth the time with Gail. Call her today - you and your pup will not regret the nuggets of wisdom - direct and subtle - that will help you really bond and enjoy every moment with your pup. No matter the size, breed, temperament or issue - Gail is the best.

We just brought home a 2nd amazing puppy from Team Reeves. I discovered this extremely…read moreconscientious, forward thinking breeder three years ago when I was hunting for a low drive Border Collie whom I could train to do pet therapy work. I vetted breeders all over North America to find the ideal low drive Border Collie. Team Reeves is the gold standard. Jamie is so smart, gentle and intuitive, it's scary. He passed the therapy dog evaluation with a "complex" rating (and not a predictable rating) when he was only 14 months old- an uncommon feat for therapy dog candidates. Everywhere we go, people stop me and tell me how beautiful and friendly my dog is. His elevated understanding of his part time therapy role is apparent and uncanny; he actually seeks out engagement from strangers. It blows me away just how much he understands his role when we visit patients. So, when we wanted another BC to train to do therapy work, it was easy! I had already done the extensive research! Vicki matched my needs once again with the perfect puppy- and now we have Frankie too! At just 12 weeks old, he sits, stays, lays down, shakes hands, and "leaves it" on command - he is super smart, extremely gentle and lets the neighborhood kids carry him around all day long. I promise you- I did the recon. There isn't a better BC breeder out there. My dogs are bomb proof. Nothing spooks them. This fantastic breeder focuses on breeding calm, smart, healthy, truly versatile dogs.

Unfortunately, I don't believe this breeder is breeding for the wellness of these pups or to better…read morethis breed in any way, but for color and looks only sadly. We did a ton of research and team reeves ranch was one of the breeders we came across that had wonderful reviews from other owners that have previously purchased their pup from them. After doing more research on the type of pup I was looking for in regard to health, temperament and papers I was sold on team reeves through all the wonderful reviews and mentions of the care they put into all the puppies and it was a bounous for them being close to our home location. We immediately came across our now wonderful little river and wondered why she was discounted in price compared to all the other puppies on the site. after reading her description it has shown that she had a slight overbite, which was never a big deal to me since my husband and I have no plans of showing this little girl. I am a registered veterinary technician and have the resources to assist with her medical care and specialist appointments in the future so had no problem providing this girl with a home. We continued with putting the deposit down for her and purchased her when she became available to go home. Immediately after purchasing our new puppy River we noticed her massive overbite (larger than expected), but took her home anyway. When we got her home we noticed she was a very heavy sleeper and did not respond to sound like "Normal puppies" and only a couple of days after purchasing her we took her in for a general wellness examination, fecal testing (Which was positive for giardia and coccidia fyi) and the next steps on how to take care of her overbite with my Veterinarian I work with. She started to provide the exam on my new puppy and realized she does not respond to stimulating sounds or noises and that my next steps would be to get her seen from a dental specialist for the overbite and to have a baer hearing test done on her to confirm if she has partial hearing loss or bilateral hearing loss. After doing research on baer testing in the area a neurologist Dr. Colette Williams from uc davis provided her with this testing and confirmed the hearing loss with what is shown in the pictures her test results. Mind you during this whole time I am providing all this information to the breeder with her Claiming she has not dealt with a deaf puppy before from her litters and have little resources on this. After providing her test results of the baer hearing test concluding that she is fully bilaterally deaf and cannot hear and was provided on the reason why this could have happened. She said I could keep her and have a full refund on her purchase price or I could send her back and they would keep her at team reeves ranch. I did not want to send her back, and started to do my own research on raising a deaf puppy. I'm 100% at fault for not doing my own exam on her upon purchase and vetting better when it comes to the breeder we get our pup from. We kept her and she is my whole life! I would do anything for this girl regardless of her disability. It's upsetting to know if I would have sent her back she would have just been resold for a cheaper price. I am very grateful for the refund we received for purchasing her and expressed this to the breeder. Fast forward to now. We had an owner bring in a puppy from team reeves ranch a black and white runt to our hospital. The puppy has hearing loss, but the best thing is to have a baer test done to see how deaf the puppy is which was explained to The owners. The breeder claimed she would get the puppy baer tested herself and keep the puppy if he is deaf. I messaged her and thanked her because I love that a breeder is willing to keep the puppy or place it in a proper home that can assist with these needs. Once again I never once blamed, talked negatively or shamed her breeding because I know mistakes happen. I was told the puppies would be better vetted and examined for these issues, But she just listed the puppy for sale for 1500 only a few days after my discussion with her. mind you for a disabled dog that needs special care. It was just sad and I really thought highly of this breeder until it came down to another one of their puppies coming up deaf. Please do really good vetting on the breeder you are going through and if they are bettering the breed or just popping them out in multiples for the money. It's really sad and upsetting that this has happened and I hope the little guys finds a good home. 7/23 - Her reviews were taken down on fb because of my negative review on her page and blocked me in the process without actually attempting to solve the issue. Please again do your research on the breeder you use. Breeders should be bettering the breed and not breeding for color because "the people on the waitlist request it" This situation is sad and very upsetting. I will also post the follow up convo listed below. My girl below

She also helps me get harnesses, leases, or other dog items since I would need to take them into the store and I can't do that without assistance for me and the dogs. Each of my dogs are rescues with their own special needs. My oldest needs exercise without hurting his old joints. My girl is totally blind and walks right along your leg or right next the senior dog if they are on the same side. My youngest wired terrier has energy to burn and absolutely gets hyper when his harness goes on so he isn't easy to walk pulling in every direction. My newest old boy is very shy and is afraid to go on walks with a harness. Karissa listens to what I am trying to get each one to do like getting more exercise, teaching them manners when walking so they don't tangle or wrap around the human's legs and the 2 newest ones need to learn where home is and how to come to the ramp where I can get my escapees who dig holes to come back to when they get out. Mostly it's just repetition so Karissa takes the time to walk them in pairs. The slow pokes and the speedy boys. Karissa is such a kind lady my cats love her too. The 2 kitty boys meet her in the yard and might tag along for the walk with the senior and blind dogs. I can't express the peace of mind I get because Karissa comes to walk my fur babies! She loves them and they love her! The newest shy boy loves the treats Karissa brings them so he is learning to be excited for walk time when the harness goes on. Karissa is gentle with them, she sits on the floor so they can all love her and give kisses and get harnesses on/off or get treats. Thanks to Karissa my dogs have a little adventure walk every week! I recommend Karissa's Critter Care so highly for your pets! She goes the extra mile for mine and they love her for it!

My appointment was accepted and confirmed. The first time, the owner texted me two hours before my appointment asking if I could come in earlier or reschedule because her son had a dentist appointment and she was worried her husband wouldn't make it back in time to pick up their other children from school. I live in Yosemite Village, which is about a 1 hour and 10 minute drive, so coming in earlier was not possible. I rescheduled, and she accepted and confirmed the new appointment. On the day of the rescheduled appointment, she texted me again 1 hour and 30 minutes before my appointment and while I was already driving to cancel once more. She said her child had parent-teacher conferences and that she didn't understand how my appointment was even booked, despite the fact that she manually accepted the appointment herself through Booksy. She also said her system was supposed to be closed at that time. Even though it didn't close and she waited to tell me this the day off my appointment that was booked out a week in advance ? I explained via text that I was already on my way and expressed how unprofessional this was given the distance I had traveled and the confirmed appointment. After that, she repeatedly called me over and over, even after I asked her to please stop calling. I had to turn around, cancel my plans, and eventually block her number. I fully understand having children, I had my 5-year-old daughter with me that day as well but when you run a business, personal scheduling conflicts should not repeatedly fall on customers at the last minute. This experience was extremely disappointing and unprofessional, and it seems the business does not have the time or organization to reliably take appointments. I would not attempt to book here again.
