Located right outside of Manitou Springs, Colorado, the cabin was just what we needed. It is located near restaurants, Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak, The Incline, Etc. But you still feel as if you are out in the woods. The cabin has a full kitchen, combined dining and living room area. 3 bedrooms (2 of the bedrooms only had single beds in them) and a nice backyard area with a picnic table and fire pit. It was lovely to sit out there and watch the beautiful Colorado sunset (easy to see that God is a Bronco's fan...lots of orange and blue. Let's just hope God can help them get their s*#t together this year...lol). My only ding, the cabin was built in the early 1900's so theres no central air conditioning. Small room air conditioners in 2 rooms. The cabin was warm, but certainly not unbearable. We would gladly stay at this lovely cabin again. It's just a big gravel lot and all of the RVs are crammed on top of each other. The site seemed smaller than the other RV parks we've been to. There's also no trees or semblance of privacy. On the positive side, site are full hookup. They have wifi and it worked pretty well. I probably wouldn't stay again if I could find another park nearby that isn't so cramped.

You have TV and DVD (there are some movies to chose from), wireless, coffee and tea along with creamer and sweeteners, eating utensils, a dorm fridge/freezer--basically everything a hotel would give you, only a little more and of nicer quality. We had our own private hot tub off the back of the caboose Lynda, the owner, was fabulous, and helped us out with dining suggestions, even keeping us apprised of weather and potential flash flooding warnings. We followed her recommendations and weren't disappointed. I highly recommend the breakfast as well. We were greeted at our door in the morning to mimosas, then bacon and eggs, and a delicious type of fresh fruit tart/pancake. I'm already dreaming up reasons to come back in the winter as I'm certain it'll be even more cosy.

The pool looked great but they do cover it up at 9 PM and you cannot swim after that time. Also, when we pulled in there was a guy working on his vehicle and parked in front of our door. My advice: look for a better place to stay.

Green Willow Cottages are the best in comfort, quiet,cozy, and nice people in the court to talk to every day. Wildlife walking thru the acre of courtyard and cabins. I fed the Deers every day. At night, I fed Raccoons and black squirrels in the morning. I absolutely adore Green Willow. I am not sure why they are closed temporarily, but Dan and Mimi, the managers, are absolutely great people persons. They are always eager to help. Last time I stayed there. I had just settled in to #4 Cottage, which is where I always stay when there. I went outside to sit in one of the Adirondack chairs on the porch. Dan walked out of the house with a plate full of steaks and spaghetti squash. He was putting them on the grill. I didn't have to yell because I was close. Dan looked at me. I said what time do we eat jokingly. He got the foods on the grill said it would be just a few minutes. I waved and chuckled. It was late afternoon toward evening and I really was hungry. I went in the cottage to wash up. We were going to go down to a local Mexican Food place I like to eat with. Next thing I know. Here stands Dan with two steaks and 2 halves of Spaghetti Squash. I opened the door and said Dan I was Only kidding. He said I know, but it's late. You've been on the road for several hours today. Take this and enjoy it with our complements. That folks is the kind of great managers Dan and Mimi are. I hope they are open and around when I had that way this year late August. I do love Manitou Springs Colorado. Love to go to Colorado City as well. Thing about Manitou, you can leave mid morning drive in any direction and be back in time for dinner. It is a great base camp, and I love exploring in that area. I could go on. A few highlights: Incredibly comfortable bed/bedding. Delicious breakfast of quiche & homemade muffins, fruit bowl with kiwi, apple, pear, watermelon, honey dew, banana, & blueberries topped with vanilla yogurt & a touch of granola, and wonderful coffee. A parking lot that is within view of most rooms. Quiet neighborhood close to both downtown CO Springs & Manitu Springs. A wine social to mingle with other guests upon check in. A collection of DVDs to borrow during your stay. Romance packages that include a dozen picture perfect roses, a bottle of champagne, breakfast en suite, and bubble bath. Owners that live in the next house over, should you need anything when staff has left for the evening. We'll return, no doubt. You should visit too.
