This place is great! I have been going to Mario for years to get my hair done and he has always done a terrific job- Dyeing, highlighting, and cutting. Whenever I bring him a picture or idea of what I want, he always makes it happen. (I like to change my style a lot.) It's on a quiet street in Brentwood village and parking is easy as it is behind the salon in a big lot and they validate for the first two hours. I'm always really particular about getting my hair washed and the ladies there do a great job. They spend a good amount of time washing your hair and give a nice massage! Mario, however, has managed to completely blow me away during my second visit. I got a keratin hair treatment done on Saturday. It was my first, and I purchased a discount voucher from Lifebooker because I had no idea where to start and I had no idea what to expect. Tobi was my stylist and she was so great! I could tell she knew exactly what she was doing and she was very informative with me about how to care for my hair post-treatment. She didn't push any of the products they sell at the salon on me, but she was honest with me about how to get the most out of the treatment. Tobi's service was amazing. I had an early 9 AM appointment and didn't have time to get coffee beforehand, so I was grateful when she offered me a cup! She also made sure I knew where to park to avoid the hefty $85 parking ticket from the expired metered parking on Chayote Street (keratin treatments take approx. 2.5 hours). Lastly, I noticed from looking around me that everybody seemed really happy and the service in general at Mario Salon was excellent. I liked the other hairstyles and cuts that I saw happening at other chairs, too. I will definitely be back again for more services from Tobi! read more

Was in town for a wedding so Made a last minute appointment for an "up do" with Azita R. She was just a lovely person. I gave her a picture of what I wanted and set her free. She paid extremely close attention to detail, checking in with me as it evolved. She was careful to use products that would easily come out (no shellack here!) I got my hair cut and styled here for the first time this week by Mario. My hair was driving me crazy -- it was long and damaged and hadn't looked good in a few months. It's very curly, dry, and was looking super heavy at the bottom. I decided to make an appointment at Mario's salon based on the Yelp reviews. I really felt like I needed a good haircut for my difficult hair. I called and they squeezed me in same-day for a haircut! The staff members were very sweet and fun to chat with. I told Mario that I wanted at least a few inches cut off and he suggested layers since it was looking so heavy. the end result honestly looked GREAT. I love the long layers. He went back after blowdrying to perfect the front layers after seeing how I looked with dried hair. The way he cut the front even makes my face look better--it's very flattering! I am so glad I found Angelica after moving to the LA area. Having curly hair, I am usually hesitant about trying new stylists, but Angelica is WONDERFUL with curly hair and a true professional.
